The hard cider I had with my meal

A very short walk from my motel was 4th West Pub. It is a neighborhood establishment where local residents as well as tourists gather. The atmosphere we convivial and the staff very attentive without being obtrusive. They gave a good sized food and drinks menu and you can start a tab if you'll be staying a while. I'll tell you that the pastrami panini was outstanding and really complimented by the Parmesan crusted fries. When I was finished eating I was sorry that I didn't have room for another sandwich. My experience with 4th West was excellent and I do recommend this pub whenever you're going through Escalante, Utah. One thing, they do not open until 5PM.

An Oasis after a long drive up Cottonwood! FAST Review Food: we got a couple of Utah beers and two Paninis! The chicken avocado and a Pastrami. After a long day of driving, it was great to get some fantastic food. Atmosphere: gastropub feel, bar with great music playing. Service: there were two people working here at 8 pm, and they were so nice and helpful. We ordered at the bar and our food came out quickly! Tip: they have a full bar, if you get tipsy, you can stay at the prospect inn across the street!

    The bar and the game!

My 5 friends and I had an amazing time enjoying great food, drinks, and Mariners win against Detroit. The staff was fantastic and made it a memorable experience. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Escalante.

Wings with chipotle honey, it was $9.50

4th West Pub offers good food and a laid-back atmosphere. Ordering was straightforward, and the wings were satisfying and a great amount of kick to the spicy level! It's a decent spot for a casual meal and drinks--nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.

We stayed in Escalante for 3 nights behind the 4th West Pub. Every evening after we got back home from hiking or horseback riding, we walked over to the 4th West Pub to meet our friends for a cocktail and snacks or dinner. The first night, owner Dave was behind the bar and made us feel at home. We tasted several Wasach and Moab brewery beers and had some of their smoked salsa; I could live on this alone. The next few nights we tasted bourbon drinks with UT bourbon served by waiter, Gene; Black Feather was by far our favorite. Dinner was wings and tacos, both were really good. This is a fun pub because most are on vacation or getting off work. Fun little rooms with tables, nice bar to sit at, and a great patio when it is warm.

A good stop for beer and bar food, and the food is better than average for a small town pub. A very pleasant atmosphere and wait staff .

The restaurant has lots of seating and feels very laid-back and great for the end of a long day on the lake. I had one of the craft beers, Camp fire kolsch, which was delicious. For food I got the Hot Honey chicken sandwich, grilled- which was fantastic. We ordered a side of fries as the burgers do not come with fries. As for service, our server was very to-the-point, not quite friendly but not rude. It was okay for me because I was ready to be done for the day, but most of our party didn't feel welcomed by our server's attitude and we're all generally easy going. We paid our bill with cash, when our server came back with the receipt he dropped it with us and left with the change. I try to make a point of tipping generously, at least 20% but I'm not really okay with someone helping themselves to a 40% tip. He came back after a few minutes of us sitting there (wondering if he forget or really took off with our change) and gave us our change- we still left 20% for him because maybe it was just a forgetful moment... All in all, good food and drink, service could use some polishing.

The dinner was very good, although it is a little on the pricey side but I think it's worth it. We ordered the steak and fried rice, and we especially loved the fried rice! The ambience is really nice, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. Since we were staying at the hotel, we were also told that breakfast was included, so we came back the next morning to try it. The breakfast is definitely geared toward a specific type of person, and unfortunately, it just wasn't for me or my friend. They serve yogurt, an egg, and a pastry, and we didn't really enjoy it, so we ended up finding breakfast elsewhere on the other mornings. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and would definitely recommend coming here for that, but the breakfast just wasn't our favorite.

Went inside and to the bar where we were acknowledged by "looking for the menu, it's up above" and sure enough it is affixed to the wall above the bar. I gave my order to the husband while I went to the lady's restroom. The lady's restroom was clean and orderly with 2 stalls and sufficient supplies. Husband says the same or similar regarding the men's room. Came back and went to the table the husband had picked out. I went over and then veered to the condiments bar. Picked up napkins, plastic silverware, mayo and mustard. Husband had ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries for him and a salad plus chicken for me. Each agreed to glasses of water. Husband said the fella behind the bar was a nice young guy. Visited just a bit, then the food was brought to us. The burger looked good as well as the fries. Not sure if the husband didn't want catsup or if it wasn't available. The salad was filling and good with lettuce, a small bit of diced red onion, quite a bit of diced celery, and some tomato atop a bed of ribbon sliced lettuce. We ate and looked around, we couldn't see the chef and the bartender had gone to deliver drinks to a people on the outdoor deck. Oddities: 2 salad dressings avail: Ranch or Italian? Cheese on salad was chopped sandwich/burger type. Overall: Limited menu with the basics of what you'd want to quickly grab - burger, a couple sandwiches with a wrap option, chips or fries, and this garden salad. People we encountered were not friendly nor unfriendly, we were unknowns in the golf clubhouse. It was all even toned ride while we rode the wave. All was cool.
