Great Gem of a place for those traveling/visiting Escalante! Amazing back drop on the patio and fitting decor on the inside.

We've stayed at the Slot Canyons Inn twice over the past 2 years and each time have had dinner at the North Creek Grill. The restaurant operates Wednesday through Saturday evenings for dinner, and reservations are strongly suggested and best made via text message to Bryce at 435-287-5929. Plan on being there for 90 minutes plus if they're busy. Our most recent dinner was wonderful. We started with wine and a peach bellini, and ordered an appetizer to share, as well as dinner. Bread that was promised never showed up. Our appetizer was an imaginative eggplant rollatini with raisins, pignoli, tomato sauce, cheese, and fresh basil. There were 3 pieces. My husband and I each ordered penne pasta for dinner. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and had bacon, onions, plenty of grilled chicken breast, fresh mozzarella, and a great fresh tomato sauce. It was garnished with a slice of dried tomato. Bellissimo! Those taking orders and serving were really nice and congenial...and hardworking. But the service was quite slow, possibly because a very large group with quite a few children was dining at the same time. We did notice that another couple arrived soon after us and seemed to receive preferential treatment. The restaurant has 2 dining spaces, one in a unique grotto space that is accessed by going through the kitchen. North Creek Grill is not inexpensive, but has the best sit-down meals in Escalante and is worth a visit!

Amazing! The view was beautiful and the service was warm and friendly. Those alone would have made such a great experience. Then we tried the food, and it was phenomenal! Everything was fresh, creative, and delicious. The prices were great for how amazing the food was. We had high hopes for North Creek Grill and they far surpassed them! (They even brought ice water out for our dog without us asking.)

What a terrifically charming and yummy dinner destination. We dined outdoors on the stone patio with heat lamps when it got chilly. Server is daughter-in-law of owner - enthusiastic, attentive, and delightful. Loved our food: pizza, meatloaf, steak, and lobster mac! Outstanding small business owned resto and inn!! Confirm hours/season before you go as they were talking about ceasing dinner until spring.

I ate here for four nights while staying at Slot Canyons Inn. All four dinners were simply spectacular. The fresh rainbow trout (evening special) was offered twice and it was over-the-top delicious both times. The rib eye was perfectly cooked and came with a hot stone so you could sizzle up each bite before eating it. Wonderful flavor! I also enjoyed the pizza. There is a small but adequate selection of beer and wine, and you will love sitting outside with all kinds of beautiful views!

The food and service was exceptional. Not expecting it in such a remote area. When twice in four days.

Super sweet folks working here who definitely care about the food they create and serve. They have full menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner with lots of yummy options. I had the daily special, which was pulled pork mac & cheese covered with crispy onions and a splash of BBQ sauce. Really tasty and filling. My wife enjoyed the loaded baked potato, filled with pulled pork, melted cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and sour cream. We also shared the beet salad, which included candies pecans and goat cheese. They have plenty of tables with a knockout view of the surrounding mountains. Definitely worth checking out before or after a day of adventuring in this great recreation area.

The menu is amazing and the owner is so nice. Plus, what a great name for a food truck !! It's just been opened for a week and is definitely going to be a hot spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The baked potato was good sized and cooked perfectly and the pork was really tasty and moist. Shared the beet, goat cheese and candied pecan salad with hubs, and it was also tasty. Loaded with beets, goat cheese and pecans. Highly recommend stopping at this great new food truck.

Anyway, this visit, we ventured out of our lodging and wanted a lovely breakfast. We saw Waffles and Wildflowers and popped in for a visit. A darling little cafe, they had a menu of waffle options, and probably coffee ones. I don't pay much attention to coffee variations, I like mine simple. BUT I had regular coffee here (maybe it was in the french press?) and it was the BEST coffee we had the whole trip. We chose a table outside, and there was still a bit of shade for us to enjoy. I ordered the savory waffle, it had goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, mixed greens and it was heavenly! My husband ordered the same but with fried chicken and that was DIVINE. I'm sure they had sweet waffles too, but I love a savory breakfast. Definitely pop in for a fantastic cup of joe and a yummy waffle!

I believe this is part of a hotel or lodge, but they do have a small waffle menu and coffee. Parking is limited in the front, but it's not too busy. There is indoor and outdoor seating and very cute and aesthetic inside. The cook and person at the front were very welcoming and friendly. I didn't love the coffee as they only had regular brew. However, their waffles AMAZING. They are famous for their chicken and waffles, which is what I got. This is already a fan favorite for me so I instantly knew but this was by far one of the best chicken and waffles I've ever had. The chicken was moist and the batter they used to fry it not only tasted fresh, but homemade. It was crispy but lighter than usual, and it was packed with flavor. The waffle was also perfectly golden. My husband had the berry one and the berries were fresh with sugar. Super sweet and delicious. I also loved the portion size. It was just right, not too small and not too big. No left overs and perfectly filling. Also the honey siracha that came with the chicken and waffles is a must, it was the best sauce I've ever had, especially mixed with the syrup!! Absolutely recommend before hiking in Escalante!
