I also bought a sweater that is my go to for this time of year and I was happy with the price considering the high quality and it doesn't have to be dry cleaned so that's more money that I'm saving. I am 74 years old and have been a customer for many years and I promise when I tell you that I am still wearing things that I bought in the 1980's because LL Bean sells quality stuff

The cashier has not taken off the EAS security tag off our purchase, and it buzzed at the exit. Another store associate dashed after us (we are both seniors), she stopped us in the bitter cold wind and started digging in our paper bag. Then, she turned her back to us and ran somewhere back into the store without talking to us. We were overwhelmed and had to follow her running and maneuvering between the store racks and shelves. While the manager was removing the security tag off our purchase, she said, "Good job" to this store associate. And merely dropped sorry to us. Is that what they consider a "good job" at LLBean's these days? Horrible, awful experience. No manners whatsoever. These rude people have ruined our day, our Birthday spirit, and our holiday. Terrible service and terrible training behind it, if any at all. NEVER EVER will we be visiting there again! There was always a great variety and a nice clearance section. My husband always has luck too. They also have a really big dog section and sell many of my favorite healthy snacks at a fraction of the cost. I usually pay at the grocery store. My only reason for not giving five stars is that upon my last visit, the bathroom and the dressing room were very dirty... Like dirty enough there was no way they had been cleaned that day, or maybe even the previous day or day before. Other than that, everything was great. The staff was friendly and parking was super easy because it's located in a big plaza.

It was late August, so I understand things may have been a bit out of season. However, more than half of the clothing just seemed like regular clothes rather than hiking/outdoor gear. The store was also pretty disorganized, with clothing laying on the floor, and the inventory was very picked over. There were a lot of empty spaces on the shelves and racks. That being said, I have found a few things here with a little luck, but overall there isn't much that catches my eye here.

Have you been to Dicks on Montgomery lately? I'm sure you have as you're all runners out there...I…read moresee ya. Lol Well yesterday the hubby and I stopped in. For many seasons I've been wanting a particular shoe. Not just any shoe-the most comfortable shoe to walk in. And let me just say...it's been elusive to me. Not all of you though because I see ya wearing them and I always say, "Hey! Where did you buy your Hokas around here?? I've been everywhere!" (Obviously I haven't but in my mind I have since I have a nice supply of other brands that didn't make the cut in my closet on my hunt for this brand, lol. Call me a collector.) Before I get to the point-I promise I will, let me just say it's been a couple years since I've been in this Dicks. But last time I was, they didn't have any Hokas, and they had a walking track around their shoes area. After doing a Google search as I was out and about, the hubby was tired of hearing how my feet hurt and starting looking for shoes stores so I thought I should participate. The search kept saying only 3 stores carried them and two of them were in KY. One e of those was Dicks. So we decided to drive to our local one. The point: (Told ya I'd get here ) Making my way to the back of the very clean and organized store, the heavens parted and I heard angels singing-it was really a baby crying but I snapped to reality rubbing my eyes in disbelief at what I was seeing! Hokas!! And not just a few pairs-a whole designated section of them! I promptly shoved my hubby and the crying baby out of the way, calm down this is all mental lol, and made my first pick. Scanned the shoe's barcode in a scanner, and out popped a young man almost instantaneously to serve me. Was it meant to be? Ohh yes. The comfort, the immediate relief on my feet! I was being propelled forward to walk as if these babies were one with body. I boxed them up. Said yes to the shoe. The hubby said aren't you going to try on others? I said, "I found the truth. There is no other. Now go pick yourself out a pair." Lol He did. And he tried on two just because he likes to overachieve. But he settled on the first pair he tried on which, by the way, was the same model as mine only mine are cooler looking. He found the truth too. And the prices were comparable to what's out there so I was happy! Do you want the same experience? Do your feet hurt in your other expensive gym shoes?? Dicks on Montgomery Rd has it. Don't walk-run, but only after you visit Dicks. *Disclaimer: No actual baby was harmed in the writing of this review.

They have great clothing for outdoor activities, carrying the top brands like Barbour which is high quality and hard to find. The higher retail prices mentioned in other reviews has more to do with the higher quality of the brands carried, their prices are in line with other small retailers for the same brands. The brands they carry will last a long time, so one pays more upfront but does not need to replace the item again, saving money over time. Single purchase is also a very sustainable friendly way to shop. But onto a review of the store, it isn't a place where you'll find fancy displays or wasted floor space but it certainly a place where you can find what you're looking for when you need things fishing, shooting or other outdoor recreation. They have hand tied flies, other flies, some other fishing products and they can help with learning. They carry high quality foot ware, outerwear, clothing (men's and women's) plus nice accessories. The shop is located on the Main Street in Hyde Park Square and is a great place for guys to hang out while your SO shops all over the Square. We enjoyed our first visit and will absolutely be back again.

The subject of bugging out and Bug Out Bags is a popular one and for good reason, disasters like…read morehurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, flash floods or other natural disaster, could force survivors to "head for the hills" in search of safer ground. We are constantly threatened by a series of potential disasters, both natural and man-made. For someone new to being a Survivalist building your first Bug Out Bag can seem like a big task. Everybody you read about has been tweaking theirs for months or even years and has a pile of gear built up. The military load bearing system is set up in a 3 day (web gear), 5-7 day (rucksack), and a 14 day (duffle bag/footlocker). It's hard to know where to start, but if you cover all of the basics in a survival situation you will still be much better off than 99% of the people. A Bug Out Bag, (also called a BOB, Get Out of Dodge Bag, GOOD, or 72 Hour Bag) is usually designed to get you out of an emergency situation and allow you to survive self-contained for up to 3 days. A lot of people plan their Bug Out Bag to sustain them for much longer than that, but there is always a limit to what you can carry on your back and a 3 day target is a good place to start. I like how Preppers Edge has developed a complete line of Bug Out Bags that range from short or long term needs. Taking the guess work out of what to pack is of vital importance to me. I've spent countless hours of research on the web and have concluded that Preppers Edge offers the most comprehensive and well assembled bags money can buy. I wouldn't trust the survival of my family to any other brand.
