Roads, Rivers & Trails is a locally owned outdoor outfitters, specializing in premium outdoor products. For the roads and trails, there is everything from shoes and clothing to hiking sticks and backpacks. Backpacks range from simple day packs, to hydration packs, and backpacking backpacks. If you are in the market for a new backpacking pack, the team at RR&T will help ensure you find a pack that fits you properly. I also saw a wall with carabiners. I'm not sure if they are climbing grade, or for more light duty use. RR&T will get you ready for your river/lake adventures. Items include, but are not limited to, kayaks, canoes, life jackets, paddles and water proof items. There are some beautiful sleek canoes with a retro feel. One of those on a little lake, with a big blue sky, near a rustic mountain cabin would be heavenly. Or maybe some family time on one of our local lakes. There are even caddie and racks to help get your boat where you need it to go. Roof rack installation is available. On top of having what one needs for the well roads, rivers and trails, they also have clothing for everyday wear, prints, and a few gift items. I loved their selection of tshirts. Graphics include Red River Gorge, National Parks, various outdoor inspired scenes, and their own logo. If I had not purchased a new water bottle recently, one of the metal bottles with a tree and montain motif, and a paracord handle, would have come home with me. If you are a collector of stickers there are animal, nature and brand logos. There is so much fun stuff. Excellent use of the space is made. They house far more products than I was expecting. Goods are displayed in a way that makes everything easy to see. Their displays are fun and enticing. Customer service is laid back. After greeting people, they seem to leave them to explore. If you are looking for assistance, associates are ready to help. No pushy sales tactics here. Staff asks pertinent questions to help find the gear that will best suit your needs. Still not sure about an item? Some items are available for rent before purchasing. RR&T also does repair work.

RRT is so much bigger than it looks from the outside. Speaking of outside, if you love the Great Outdoors, this is your store! I walked in and we were instantly greeted by the staff in a helpful, non pressure sort of way. To the left was allllll the paddling goodness of boats, life jackets, paddles, and accessories. I drooled at the high quality products they had in that sector. To the right was all kinds of the best outdoor clothing brands with everything from casual daywear, to the goods for your outdoor adventures... or hell even just to keep you warm or dry even if you arent outdoorsy. There was some items highlighting more local places like the Red River Gorge which I thought was very unique. I made my way further towards the back and was distracted by the shiny Sherpa bracelets and ended up taking one home! Towards the way back of the store is climbing and backpacking goodies. They have a nice selection of packs in store and it is important you try them out before buying which they encourage. There is a huge wall of books on everything you could think of ... yep you guessed it... outdoors. I could spend hours in this place... AND a lot of money. Not because their prices are high, but because they have such great products! I took some time to talk to the girls at the desk about their events (see sign board behind the checkout). They do boat demo events or for a small fee you can have a private demo. Did you know they offer gear rental? Outdoor products can be a big investment and sometimes its nice to try things out first for longer than just a quick try on or demo event! Need help planning a trip? Look no further! Have something that needs repair... again these are your people! Have you taken the plunge into a sport and need help installing your car rack? Yep they do that too! More in depth events can also be found on their website including an upcoming hike for your health series and some seminars on backpacking, trips, and kayaking! They often do events for charity including the upcoming fashion show to benefit the Adventure crew! Please come by and browse, no pressure to buy, and if youre a newbie to the outdoor world, you too, will truly be welcomed here and into the community!

We are constantly threatened by a series of potential disasters, both natural and man-made. For someone new to being a Survivalist building your first Bug Out Bag can seem like a big task. Everybody you read about has been tweaking theirs for months or even years and has a pile of gear built up. The military load bearing system is set up in a 3 day (web gear), 5-7 day (rucksack), and a 14 day (duffle bag/footlocker). It's hard to know where to start, but if you cover all of the basics in a survival situation you will still be much better off than 99% of the people. A Bug Out Bag, (also called a BOB, Get Out of Dodge Bag, GOOD, or 72 Hour Bag) is usually designed to get you out of an emergency situation and allow you to survive self-contained for up to 3 days. A lot of people plan their Bug Out Bag to sustain them for much longer than that, but there is always a limit to what you can carry on your back and a 3 day target is a good place to start. I like how Preppers Edge has developed a complete line of Bug Out Bags that range from short or long term needs. Taking the guess work out of what to pack is of vital importance to me. I've spent countless hours of research on the web and have concluded that Preppers Edge offers the most comprehensive and well assembled bags money can buy. I wouldn't trust the survival of my family to any other brand.

I told him after a year goes by, I'll stop bringing them back in. Already ordered replacement ridge pants that hopefully hold up better (not as light as Meridian unfortunately). I'm not looking for handouts, but want to get my money out of them so it's not a complete waste (I have all the colors). Now I've lost a lot of confidence in the company as a whole. I have a lot of their clothing, backpacks, and accessories. Before, I was assured that the quality is so good that they'll stand behind it. Now that they're not, the quality must be causing them too many problems to keep up with that assurance. Third picture is the size of pants compared to fresh order made a month ago. I haven't added on in size which would be a meaningful denial as well. He just kept repeating the same thing like one of my toddlers. Just doing what he's told is my guess.

They fixed my bike that I bought at a Loveland shop (it had some problems related, in my opinion, to a bad build). Repair / mechanics services here are good, but they do get very backed up in peak season. I liked them so much that I came to Bishop's to buy a bike for my 7 year old, passing up some cheaper options (Dick's, Target, etc). Sales and fit process was very good. That was a great buy (it's a Jamis); that bike is a high quality item and has been trouble-free despite a lot of use. When my daughter outgrows it, it will have several other owners before it is done. They specialize in Jamis (not exactly a household name but I'd recommend checking them out), Felt, and Bianchi. Location is convenient; they are in downtown Milford but only 2 minutes from the Little Miami Bike Trail. Getting a street parking spot right in front of the shop has never been a problem. I am loyal to this shop and would recommend.

But both the merchandise and the service…read morehave declined significantly over the years to the point that I will never be going back and recommend no one else do either. Back in March, I had a tube replaced that within a couple of weeks had blown. The good thing is, since this kept happening with them, it finally taught me how to replace my own tubes. The other good thing is that I could see how cheap the Bishop's tube was quality wise compared to the tube I bought for myself on Amazon. The other good thing is that on Amazon, I also found a great digital tire gauge/pump on Amazon to help take care of future issues. I immediately realized that one source of my tube blowouts was that the rather handsomely priced tire pump/gauge I had bought at Bishops years earlier was defective/inaccurate. So my bad for over-inflating. But their bad for selling crappy merchandise at inflated bike store prices. More recently, the crank on my bike broke (left pedal fell off as the hardware gave way). Not easy getting back five miles on one pedal, but did, and took it to Bishops for repair. They replaced the crank. Less than a month later, the left crank shaft falls off, again while I'm on the bike trail. This time at least I was able to screw it back in, since I had the necessary hex tool kit and the hardware wasn't completely broken. It was still making a grinding sound, which it had done before the failure. I took it back and told them I expected it to be repaired properly. The woman said the service manager would take a look. I still haven't heard back a few hours later. But after giving them until tomorrow morning, I'll go collect the bike one way or the other, take it Montgomery Cyclery, and deal with refund issues through other channels. Regardless, my days of doing business with Bishops are over forever. This saddens me, because it is a longstanding institution, oldest continuous operating bike shop in the U.S. But, hey, I'd stop doing business with the Wright Brothers if they kept continuously messing me over as well. Stay away.

Have you been to Dicks on Montgomery lately? I'm sure you have as you're all runners out there...I…read moresee ya. Lol Well yesterday the hubby and I stopped in. For many seasons I've been wanting a particular shoe. Not just any shoe-the most comfortable shoe to walk in. And let me just say...it's been elusive to me. Not all of you though because I see ya wearing them and I always say, "Hey! Where did you buy your Hokas around here?? I've been everywhere!" (Obviously I haven't but in my mind I have since I have a nice supply of other brands that didn't make the cut in my closet on my hunt for this brand, lol. Call me a collector.) Before I get to the point-I promise I will, let me just say it's been a couple years since I've been in this Dicks. But last time I was, they didn't have any Hokas, and they had a walking track around their shoes area. After doing a Google search as I was out and about, the hubby was tired of hearing how my feet hurt and starting looking for shoes stores so I thought I should participate. The search kept saying only 3 stores carried them and two of them were in KY. One e of those was Dicks. So we decided to drive to our local one. The point: (Told ya I'd get here ) Making my way to the back of the very clean and organized store, the heavens parted and I heard angels singing-it was really a baby crying but I snapped to reality rubbing my eyes in disbelief at what I was seeing! Hokas!! And not just a few pairs-a whole designated section of them! I promptly shoved my hubby and the crying baby out of the way, calm down this is all mental lol, and made my first pick. Scanned the shoe's barcode in a scanner, and out popped a young man almost instantaneously to serve me. Was it meant to be? Ohh yes. The comfort, the immediate relief on my feet! I was being propelled forward to walk as if these babies were one with body. I boxed them up. Said yes to the shoe. The hubby said aren't you going to try on others? I said, "I found the truth. There is no other. Now go pick yourself out a pair." Lol He did. And he tried on two just because he likes to overachieve. But he settled on the first pair he tried on which, by the way, was the same model as mine only mine are cooler looking. He found the truth too. And the prices were comparable to what's out there so I was happy! Do you want the same experience? Do your feet hurt in your other expensive gym shoes?? Dicks on Montgomery Rd has it. Don't walk-run, but only after you visit Dicks. *Disclaimer: No actual baby was harmed in the writing of this review.
