First off really nice employees. You will find exemplary service here. Sadly I think 5.11 has overplayed their hand a bit. Have become more of a fan of Tru-Spec Gear, and there are more manufacturers of tactical clothing these days. Will this work for some people? Yes! They remain a viable business, and many will appreciate their gear. Pricing has gone way up. Inflation is a real issue, but for value I have to give 5.11 average marks in my opinion. Some people swear by their clothing, but I'm not as enamored as I once was. They do have occasional sales, and their tactical backpacks are quite comfortable. These are a good buy, but a wise consumer checks around. 5.11 gets a conditional recommendation from me, and I do think they are worth looking at. Upon walking in. You're greeted and asked if you need any help. If you say no. You're not followed around the store like some places. The store is fully stocked and also very clean. The prices are on par with amazon really and their own website also. They have a fitting room. Also they stock a lot larger sizes too. The cashier as well as the other employees were highly professional and nice. The general crowd was mainly military/law enforcement as well as standard consumers. Mainly adults. No kids really. Not really any downfalls really besides the parking. Since the lot is shared with other businesses and best buy. It gets filled up sometimes quickly. But you can always find a space though. Dave was very helpful explaining what many of the clothing, equipment and shoes do and how they help you. Looking around I enjoyed how clean and well organized the store is. I even found my new pair of boots I will be picking up in two weeks. The last two pair of boots I bought at Payless fell apart within a month. These tactical black boots I found are not likely to do that. The cost for them are $164.99, but are much cheaper than the Ecco boots I saw a week ago. It wasn't very busy there seeing it was Friday on s school day, but I did see many thing I might come back for. I have many clothes I feel should be given to good will since I do not wear them. Please explain to me how the store in Springfield Va told me that they would not accept my return that, I just purchased there on Friday because I removed the tags. The manager Nick Weyel, who by the way just starred at me as I walked in the store and didn't even acknowledge my presence. I basically did the majority of the talking. He said there is no way that, he can put the tags back on and no other store does returns/exchanges on their items with the tags removed. Mind you, I had the tags, receipt and the item was never worn. This is the worst experience I've ever had with this brand. I have over 15 of their garments and have been a loyal customer for years. This person, Nick Weyel(store manager) completely turned me off of this product. For him to be the store manager, I hope he is not teaching his staff this kind of horrible/biased customer service. read more

Recently opened corporate store selling only 5.11 gear with the exception of field medical supplies, and knives that compliment their own offerings. It actually surprised me just how big their product line is. For the most part, the left side is Men's, the right is women's, the center is knives and medical, and the back wall is shoes. They also have a couple of changing rooms and bathrooms (thankfully). Well laid out merchandise with plenty of room between the racks and shelves. Loads of sizes and colors. This was always a problem with going to dealers as they would only stock a limited selections of models, sizes, and color options. Here they have their entire catalog! Also something you would probably not see at dealers, is their line of cross fit apparel and more casual clothing. They've been expanding into work out clothes. While I'm not familiar with those offerings, I do frequently wear their "off duty" or more casual clothes and have found it challenging to find a vendor where I can see and try on the different clothes. The staff is helpful, the store is bright and well laid out, and it gives you an opportunity to try on the gear you would otherwise only see in pictures. read more

I drove 1 hour from Southern Maryland to return some pants I had bought from this store a couple days prior because they are too long. The employee (the same guy who sold me the pants) would not except the return because the tags had been cut off. I will never return to this store. I recommend you go somewhere else. The customer service is horrible. On my way out the door another employee yelled sarcastically "Have a great day!" mocking me. So whoever is working today Saturday 10/2/2021 at 4pm. Always willing to greet you with a friendly smile and willing to go above and beyond to help ensure that your needs are met! Each time we visit the store it's always a great experience. Not everyone gets that shopping is more than just purchasing items. It's an entire experience and I am thankful and grateful for these two individuals who make the experience great each time we enter their store. There have been numerous occasions now when an item we may want may not be in stock at their location but they both are willing to check online or other stores in the area to find what you need. This evening, we had an unpleasant experience at this location. As we walked in the store, there were two sales associates at the register, but not one of them greeted us. This wasn't a good sign to begin with, but we brushed it off. Seconds later, a family walked in no differently than we did, but they got a greeting from BOTH of the workers. I wasn't really sure why we didn't get the same service. Was it our appearance? I was interested in one jacket and we were looking at it for a while, but again no help. Not very helpful and has no customer service manners at all. Smug prick shouldn't be there if he doesn't want to work! Was having a wonderful Saturday until I came to this store. I walked in and was looked at by employees yet no one greeted or said a word. I continued inside to one of the employees folding clothes and greeted them just to be stared at by them as they stayed silent. I hate to think the reason I did not receive any assistance is that my skin pigmentation was too dark as all of the other customers that were being helped were white. At other stores...I always try to find 34x34, which is usually sold out- leaving everyone to dig through the 10 pairs of 56x28 pants .22lr resellers haven't purchased yet. This store has ALL THE SIZES, was nice to actually try on/purchase. 3. They stock/sell Black Rifle Coffee- I'd probably come back for that alone. 5.11 makes great gear, but the dealing with the Springfield location is like trying to return a weapon to the armory - they always seem to be looking for some way to refuse your request. Best to avoid this location - as was the case with other posters, it ends up being a lot easier to deal with 5.11 corporate customer service. read more

So the whole 5.11 store is new to me I had left LE for a couple years and now I'm working for PD again and had some of their products before. Always liked the quality but I would definitely recommend this store if you are LEO or MIL and near the DC area. I need new boots and will be going to look here. I bought a duty knife last week and it was a good price and the young woman who was helping me was very knowledgeable and made the experience fun and well worth it.
