I chose this shop because of the strong reviews and the reputation I saw online. I called ahead and was told the diagnostic fee would be about $100, so I went in expecting the vehicle to be diagnosed first. When I arrived and explained the issue with my 2018 Honda Civic--passenger side blowing cold air while the driver side was blowing warm--I spoke directly with the owner. Instead of performing the diagnostic I was told about over the phone, I was told they were not going to diagnose it and was pushed toward a $275 A/C service to recover and recharge the refrigerant. As a customer, I wanted the problem identified before authorizing hundreds of dollars in work. I specifically described symptoms that could point to something other than refrigerant, but the recommendation remained the same. I later took the vehicle to another shop, where they performed an actual diagnostic and found a B1235 code related to the driver-side blend door actuator. That diagnosis matched the symptoms exactly and led to a targeted repair instead of an expensive refrigerant service. I was disappointed because I went there based on the positive reviews and expected a diagnostic approach. Being quoted a diagnostic fee over the phone and then being steered away from a diagnosis once I arrived left me feeling like my concerns weren't being taken seriously. We have been looking a good general mechanic in the area, our old mechanic is in rosemead, just not convenient anymore. I was looking through yelp and came upon 5 star Auto repair. They had good reviews, why not. We were not disappointed. My daughter's car was blowing hot air from ac. The drama is real with teenage daughter when weather hits 75 and she's "dying " from heat. We brought the car to 5 star, we left it and hoped for the best. A few hours later it was ready to go. We were charged a great price. And the drama is over, her AC was fixed, blowing ice cold air. Had an old A/C system on my little 1991 Toyota Pickup and they did their magic with their quality diagnostic work to get it back up and running and giving me a nice chilly, cool driving experience in that little truck that I love so much! They let me come in to drop it off and then they were super kind to let me store it there the day after they finished it until I could swing by after work to pick it up! In a nice, locked, safe location by the way! He told me could be one thing or another and couldn't give me a direct answer yet he's been here for years apparently.wanted to charge me an way over price for a part when I could get it way cheaper..he's a SCAM because every person that walk in he told them that they would have to completely buy all new parts for there car. Do not bother going here! They take your money and solve nothing. Paid for smog told me to drive it around and come back. Did just as told came back to get the same Hispanic man to tell me the same thing. Lack of knowledge and professionalism. Don't come here speaking clearly, driving anything nice or show up with genuine Lexus part for your repair. This joker quoted me $180 dollars over the phone to replace a radiator that I would supply. Over the next 2 days I decided to also replace the hoses and thermostat. I knew the shop would charge me more to do the thermostat repair, but boy was I in for a usurious and expensive surprise. I arrive at the shop, the guy behind the counter comes out to the car, I open the hood and the radiator is clearly leaking from the seams. I show the guy the new genuine Lexus radiator, new genuine Lexus Thermostat, new genuine Lexus coolant and 2 new Gates hoses. We walk back into the shop, the owner re-quotes the job at nearly DOUBLE THE ORIGINAL QUOTE! $330!!! When I challenge the price, he says "I didn't know you wanted to change the thermostat and hoses". That is a fair statement and I countered not against the additional cost, but the amount of the additional cost. The thermostat takes less than 15 minutes to replace. It's held on, literally, by 2 bolts. And the hoses? They're already HALF WAY REMOVED because you have to disconnect them from the old radiator! On top of that, they're squeeze clamps. You don't even need a screwdriver to remove them! So an extra $150 dollars for 15 minutes of labor and the squeezing of 2 hose clamps! Bottom line, the guy behind the counter saw a top of the line Lexus LS460, genuine Lexus parts and an actively leaking radiator. I guess the leaking radiator led him to believe he was dealing with a captive customer with money, who can't drive away and go somewhere else because the car is going to overheat. WRONG. read more

Came here for an oil change. Owner didn't try to upsell us or pull any ridiculous BS, and we got exactly what we wanted in a timely manner. Paid a pretty standard price for oil changes around here, $25. Place is fairly busy, all the spaces in the garage were full and there were a couple of people waiting. A good sign that I've come to the right place. One entrance that doubles as the exit, so space is definitely tight. Pretty sure they do other work other than just oil changes, although I don't know the extent of their offered services. Will come back for future oil changes and such. read more

I panicked a bit, because I was planning to take the car on a 2 hour drive later that afternoon. I decided to go to this place last minute; I've been before but I'm always extremely happy with the service. They're fast, friendly, and will take you at a moments notice. It seems like if you choose to stay and wait for a quick service (like an oil change) they'll make it a priority to get you out of the quicker.
