My family and I were wanting to do a helicopter tour. I saw a deal available on Groupon and it didn't specify if it was per person or group. I went directly to their website and the price was a lot lower than Groupons price so I decided to call to double check. I spoke with Michelle and asked how many people was the Groupon deal for. I had her on speaker because it was my family and I who wanted to book so I wanted them to hear as well. Which Michelle then replied "well what do you think?!" In a very rude and sarcastic way. I paused because I was such in shock with the way she responded. I said "ma'am I don't know, that's why I'm calling". And again in her rude tone said "yes, it's per person" like I'm such an idiot who should have known this information. It was really disgusting honestly. When we both hung up there was a very awkward silence in the room. And we all said that was extremely rude. I was then really embarrassed by her tone/ behavior. I simply wanted clarification, I was not rude to her or give her any reason to talk to me the way she did.

First time being on the tour! Friendly staff, waiting times could have been better though. Our tour included dinner beforehand at pampas Brazilian steakhouse so that was nice too! The tour was lovely and worthwhile! Thank you

First time on a helicopter tour for my mom & I and I have to say it was one of the best experiences of our lives! The staff & ambience are wonderful. Joe Gonzalez (driver), Irma (check in) & Marcus (pilot) are all great, knowledgeable, helpful & friendly! Worth every penny & would recommend them!

There are so many different ways one can experience the Grand Canyon, but I chose a helicopter ride which actually checked two items off of my bucket list! Choose your own adventure but consider this: if you're short on time or don't enjoy boat rides, road trips, or hiking - a helicopter ride is a fantastic option! I was short on time but have always wanted to see the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. I'd also never been on a helicopter but always wanted to take a ride. Sure I heard it could be scary but I found it to be thrilling and relaxing. The first few minutes I felt a flutter in my chest that could have been fear but it also felt a lot like excitement. Either way my body calibrated after a few minutes, and then I felt peace, awe and wonder...like I was floating in the sky between the vastness of distance and time, while trying to comprehend the span of the lake and the length of this seemingly never ending river. I can't overstate the relaxation and peace I experienced that caused me to fall asleep -- twice. When I told the pilot I was shocked I had so much trouble staying awake, she proudly said she'd been known to put people to sleep - smooth ride. Truly an amazing experience - not cheap but worth every cent.

Definitely worth the 12 minute ride! Beautiful views, just make sure to ride at night!! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Bought the photo package, received the print but never received the digital ones we were promised. Otherwise would've been five stars.

The best way to see Las Vegas and all the attractions such as Strip, Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, and the Grand Canyon. 5 Star Helicopter tour was amazing and professional, our pilot was Kristina , she was amazing pilot and had great information about the tour. You have no idea of how large these areas are until you are up in the air, massive! Kristina pointed out landmarks along the way, such as an inactive volcano, Lake Las Vegas, home of several celebrities, Hoover dam, Grand Canyon, etc.... We landed and had Lunch at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch, nice dude ranch. Overall the entire adventure I would highly recommend!

AMAZING! BREATHTAKING! UNFORGETTABLE! fabulous experience-- would do it again in a heartbeat. The staff were all amazing and professional thanks ms michelle who patiently helped me book the tour, the limousine chauffeur very respectful who picked us up from our hotel & drop off, very nice front desk ladies weighs and checked us in and specially our private Capt Pilot Sam, who did an excellent job at keeping our ride smooth while providing us with fun facts along the way. He also made sure everyone got photos! thank you 5-stars helicopter tour for this once in a lifetime experience my family now wants to have a helicopter

Fantastic experience! The helicopter was a bit small but overall I felt safe, the views were beautiful, the pilot was nice, the facilities before and after are clean. I really loved landing at the valley of fire!

It's in the name-5 Stars for a reason! My mother in law and I had a blast doing the 90 min helicopter ride to the West Rim Grand Canyon. We got a super funny and knowledgeable pilot and saw gorgeous views! In my opinion, it is worth the expense for a once in a lifetime experience.

This Helicopter Tour is Amazing great way to see the Hoover Dam & Grand Canyon beautiful views the pilot was very nice made you feel at ease definitely recommend this tour if you are in Vegas.

Grand Canyon taken from the helicopter

This is top notch the whole way. From the time they picked us up to the time they dropped us off. We originally booed with another service but after 48 hours they sent an email saying they were full. So I booked with 5 star. 5 star might have been 50 bucks more in the end but well worth it. Our pilot Sam was excellent - explained everything that we were seeing without being like a cartoon character or standoffish. Highly recommend - there is not one single thing they could have done better.

5-Star for sure! After winning a few shekels, I decided to splurge and take a helicopter tour with a sunset view over the Vegas strip and Red Canyon. Great experience all around. Booked on Trip Advisor and off I went. They even pick you up and drop you off from hotel... full service with great staff. Lots of great pics and videos taken... enjoy!

Always wanted to see the Grand Canyon from the air so I booked a tour through 5 Star. It was easy to make the reservation over the phone and find time slot that worked for me. Once booked I got a confirmation call three days before to set up my pick up location. They arranged to have me picked up directly from my hotel. This is dependent on how far your hotel is from the hangar so make sure to confirm they can pick you up before making a reservation. On the morning of my flight I was picked up from the hotel I was staying at off the main Vegas strip. The shuttle van was a little late due to the construction for the F1 races coming to town. It still got me there in enough time for my flight though I was hurried through the process. After confirming and making any payment due they had everyone watch a safety video. They did provide water and encouraged you not to take any loose items on the flight. After the video was complete the separated everybody into three groups. Each group then went with a pilot to received further instruction. The whole process didn't take long and we were in the air. The flight was about a hour and a half. We got to see all the sights. We went over the strip, by Lake Meade, Hoover Damn, then through the Grand Canyon. The views were breathtakingly stunning. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The pilot was also the tour guide pointing out major attractions and gave us interesting facts along the way. After the flight concluded they provided transportation back to everyone's hotels. It was a great experience and I highly recommend anyone interested to take rheumatologist opportunity to do it at least once.

So it always tends to be skewed and you have to take reviews with a grain of salt, so I was hopeful that would be the case for us and we wouldn't experience the problems that others have. Just as several others have mentioned here, our flight was cancelled the day of, after we arrived. We booked SEVEN months in advance, paid in full ~ $1200 for family of four. We arrive 30 minutes prior as instructed. They tell us, sorry, we have mechanical issues, so you are cancelled. They say, we tried to call you (we received no call because, guess what, cell service is not the best around the south rim of the grand canyon...). We said, we have seen at least 4 helicopters flying, how about canceling someone else, how do you select? Did everybody else here book 7+ months ago? Who is prioritized? The reality is they overbooked, and because we paid 7 months previous, we paid less (I looked, their prices went up since we had booked). So I guess we were the easy choice to cancel... They offered to rebook the next day, yet they know that nearly nobody can accomodate this, so it is a hollow offer where they know they can "do their part to try to rectify", but also know that nearly everybody would then just cancel, and the problem takes care of itself. Great business model... Everybody that is going to book a helicopter trip over the grand canyon is there on vacation, and nobody is staying anywhere near grand canyon village or the location of this airport. It is an hour drive just from Williams and the main road, one way. Anyone who books this is driving in from Sedona or Vegas or Phoenix for a half/one day trip, and vacation days/time is precious. Its not as though you can just go do something else nearby and wait until the next day... We had one window of time planned, and the time of this flight was it. I suppose that is why they do not really care about customer service, or screwing someone last minute. Its not like they are planning for repeat customers really... Kids were beyond disappointed. The build-up and excitement, only to be completely let down last minute. They cried as we were walking out and leaving because the talk of the helicopter ride was happening for months prior. And now to the refund. The girl at the counter said the refund would take 7-10 days. Ok, thats typical, whatever. 12 days goes by, no refund. E-mail and call. They respond and say that, because its been more then 6 months, we cannot refund back to your card. We can either ACH (and attached a form) or send a check. I respond to tell then to send a check. Who in their right mind is going to provide their bank account number and routing number into a microsoft word file and e-mail it back? Fast forward ~ 21 days. Still no check. So send another e-mail (haven't called yet because that is a whole other experience...). I receive and e-mail back, not a response to my e-mail, but a carbon copy of the first one sent 9 days prior saying I can use ACH or check. Um, huh? So here we are now, still no refund. Fortunately, since we were heading to Vegas that day (was supposed to be right after our helicopter flight), we booked with Maverick for a helicopter flight over Las Vegas the next day. $450 for family of four, and the experience was excellent all around. I'd recommend Maverick, and avoid this company.

Read the review to learn more I wanted to do something special with my 11 year old son since we've gone to Grand Canyon multiple times in the past over six years and I wanted to fly over the Grand Canyon so I told the rep what I was looking for and they told me here we have one for you They said I would fly over the Grand Canyon and not merely look at it from a distance. That did not happen as we can use over you were down and it touchdown on the rim of the canyon, but we never flew over the canyon and that's what I paid $750 for. False advertising. And even later that year, I saw other planes fly Over the Grand Canyon and in fact flying east to west over the Colorado River so in essence they charge me $750 for a glorified bus ride and we never got over the Grand Canyon we got to the edge and landed and then took a bus ride. To the same places that my son and I have gone to already I would recommend going with another company or if you decide to take a chance and gamble make sure you get it in writing because they record all the conversations every time you call them they record conversations so I took this to my lawyer and the lawyer said it would be worth changing them in court because they lied to you it would cost more for them to represent me in Nevada than to just eat the $750 loss so I'm just telling everybody record the conversation and make sure you're not getting a bus ride for $750 Back on the plane there was a father and son couple that also had a complaint so on a airplane with 10 people 40% of us had been lied to by this company and I noticed that the captain pilot tried to usher the man who was complaining off to the side so other passengers would not hear his complaints as well. That seems to be a regular event with this company if anybody talks about wanting to go on a flight over the Grand Canyon I would say it is a phenomenal Vista but don't go in Papillion unless you plan on spending twice as much money because they do a lot of bait and switch and I'm going to pass this information onto the attorney general of Nevada so they know about it as well and also the Better Business Bureau since they seem to get their attention because Betty doesn't seem to care about her clients and any kind of false advertising or bait switch. When I called the company and tell them about the misunderstanding and the mistake made I believe her name was Betty . She said she would record of the conversation she said I have to go back and listen to all the conversation. so clearly this company has had so many complaints that they have cues of people listening to all the recorded conversations so that should give you great doubt about the ethics of that they have to have so many people listening to their calls and complaints Especially if you're from outside of America a new book this you will have no recourse because you're not American citizen so other than doing a chargeback I thought the company was going to be ethical and do some kind of compromise but no they did so the timeframe for any kind a chargeback of false advertising and bait and switch which the time had elapsed with the credit card company so therefore you're stuck so Papillion is very unethical and don't waste your money it's better to gamble that the one armed bandit in casino with the blackjack table than to go with this misfit outfit Buyer beware! Especially Foreigners

They even honored the package pricing from then... I booked the first flight of the morning, which turned out to be the perfect choice in the Vegas heat. There was no crowd, no rush, and the weather was great. The experience itself was an absolute blast and did not disappoint. I was grinning cheek to cheek the entire time. After seeing the video, my family and friends said I looked more hyped than scared. Granted, I have done tandem paragliding, heli-skiing, bungee jumping from what was then the world's highest jump in Queenstown, and tandem skydiving more than once. Still, this was completely different, and easily one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had. My pilot was Christian, and he was professional, friendly, helpful, and incredibly encouraging. I took the stick for five maneuvers: an aileron roll, barrel roll, loop, hammerhead, and tail slide. Yes, I was basically LARPing as a stunt pilot, and I loved every second of it. I also added the Advanced Maneuvers and Bombing Run packages for $150 each. We even did an 8G turn! After experiencing that, I have a whole new appreciation for the high-G climb scene in Top Gun: Maverick. It looks cool on a screen, but feeling that force against your entire body is something else. I also opted for the $299 Editors add-on, which gives me the raw video files. After editing the footage with a couple of the well-known Top Gun scores, using the anthem for the maneuvers where I had the controls and, of course, "Danger Zone" for the advanced maneuvers and bombing run. I ended up wanting to watch Maverick all over again! Instead of posting mostly photos with this review, I decided the videos would tell the story much better. This is absolutely a must-do experience, especially for anyone who has ever dreamed of flying aerobatics or wondered what it feels like to be inside one of those crazy movie maneuvers. Right now, this easily ranks as one of my most memorable adventures. Five stars, all the way.

Well damn, Jackie! I can't control the weather…read more I scheduled a night time tour of the Las Vegas Strip by helicopter. I bought the flight through Groupon. I called to schedule my flight about two weeks out. The goal was to fly on a Saturday evening. They had a 10:15 slot open. I showed up well in advance. The place was busy but the staff were friendly and inviting. They were also open and honest that they were running behind a bit. No worries. I'm there to enjoy myself and that I shall. Skyline has a good lobby area with a game room, water, coffee, vending machines. They even have massage chairs for a small fee. And some music playing that took me back to high school and early college days made this a reasonable place to spend the evening. Then nature happened. Out of nowhere there came a flash of lightning less than a mile away from the airport. That put everything into a holding patter. No flights out for at least the next hour. 30 minutes later it was raining hard and the wind was gusting. The crew called it. It was too dangerous to be flying. So I got rescheduled for the next day, Sunday, at 9:45. Fast forward to Sunday, the weather was much better. The place was much less crowded. Flights were almost on time. As I sat waiting for my flight I struck up a conversation with another single flyer. We would end up flying together. So now I have a new friend, Tina. She covered the photo package. I covered the tip. A fair trade. Trevor, our pilot, gave us a rundown of what to expect. Some bumps here and there. Where we were turning. A bit about what we were seeing. As I local I chimed in and pointed out UNLV. There wasn't much needless chatter between any of us but Trevor was spot on as to where we would expect turbulance. None of it was that bad but very much different than what you feel in a fixed wing plane. Helicopters tend to sway a bit and bounce like someone jumping in an elevator. A strange feeling but not terrible on the night I flew. Soon (too soon) we were back on the ground. The adventure over. An experience to remember for sure. I've been in most things that fly over the years. This was one of final things left. Not much more to fly in now. I am grateful to the crew at Skyline Helicopters for experience, the ease of scheduling, the concern for crew and passenger safety, and most of all their stellar customer service. Sure, this wasn't exactly a smooth and perfect experience but they can't control the weather. They did their best and were up front when things went south. Good on them.

Hoover Dam itself is very cool! The engineering and history behind it is one to know! We did the…read morepower plant tour for $15 each and it came with a 10 minute video and a 15 minute power plant tour. If you're interested in the electric aspect, take the power plant tour. If you're into more of the hydro aspect of the dam then do the Hoover Dam tour for $30. Dropping a star because the workers managing the tour lines seemed a bit aggressive.

They pick you up at a specific hotel they name, and its on Grayline Tour Bus, which is comfy and huge. However, the guy who sold us this trip, said it was from 830 am to 130 pm, NOT TRUE. You will be gone for more then 7 hours. During the trip the guide points out things on the way to the dam, and gives iconic homes built and actors that live there, along many stops to take pictures. But the dam itself is an eye opener and how it was built, and the guide was good, but if you get the tour that is a "Gear Tour" you will watch a brief movie and then head down into the dam. I was disappointed as I thought we were going to go out a door and see the dam at a lower level with the enormous wall that was built rather than just seeing it from a top. Also, there is a cafe on site, if you're on the tour, make sure you go down to the dam first as it is a 45 minute tour, and then grab something to eat, because they don't leave you enough time, Also as we were leaving the elevator went down and some people didn't get to go down into the dam! It is a site to see, however next time I will do the Grand Canyon.
