She not only gave us an incredible trip, but the journey to and from she pointed out so many things. She landed us on the bottom of the Grand Canyon, served up some champagne, a little lunch, and took the time to again point out things that we all take for grated! This was by far on of the best experiences I've had in my life! The views and scenery was nothing short of spectacular! Christie made sure to let us know so many details of the different things. From start to finish, my heart does not skip a beat! Miko (spelling?) picks us up at a nearby hotel, he's so charming and personable. Takes about half an hour drive to BFE/Serenity Helicopter take off and landing zone. Weigh-in and yadiyadiya. From reading crazy amount of reviews, I was hoping we would get put in with "Mad Dog" the pilot. And guess what? We freakin did! Haha lol. In all seriousness, Mike our pilot was funny as heck. His songs and commentary was spot on. His view about the Grand Canyon was interesting to say the least. We knew we had to buy the tour clip! Lunch was mellow, had a mimosa to unplug and take in the grand scenery. However, flight back was slightly nauseated due to the alcohol consumption I had at lunch, but that didn't deter me to have a grand ol' time tagging along with Mad Doggie Dog! I finally had a feel of what it's like being in a helicopter, since my father flew one during the Vietnam war! This was never on my bucket list of things to do, and now it's on there and crossed off! As I planned this trip, I started researching helicopter tours. I quickly found several options. After digging deeper, I found that Serenity has a PERFECT safety record. I am not suggesting that some of the other operators are unsafe in any way, but I liked how Serenity places their commitment to safety as a priority on their website. Adventure & fun were a factor in my planning, but being in safe hands is most important! My friend & I booked the Sky Dancer Landing & Picnic tour. Since we were driving, we skipped the shuttle service provided by Serenity from Vegas. Instead, we received instructions on where to park at Boulder City Airport and to call once we arrived. After we parked, Christina quickly came out to greet us & to let us into Serenity's private terminal. I took my iPhone to get photos & my sunglasses. I asked Christina if I should grab my jacket, but she assured me that the weather would be similar to what we were feeling at the airport. Feel free to call ahead if you want to ask about brining a jacket. The staff is well aware of the weather in/around the canyon. The lounge is very comfortable, well decorated, & has clean restrooms. After check-in, the staff chatted with us and offered us plenty of drink options while we awaited our flight. It was obvious that everyone at Serenity loves working there. The staff explained what we should expect & gave us some preliminary instructions. Once the helicopter was prepared, the staff prepared us & the other guests who were joining us on the flight to head out to the helipad. Once on the helipad, the staff took a few photos of us with their camera in front of the helicopter. You will have the option to purchase the photos later. The staff helped us board the helicopter & got us buckled in. Once onboard, our pilot greeted us. We were lucky enough to get Maddog Mike. Maddog has a bit of a reputation for being a favorite pilot for Serenity's tours. I quickly found out why! Once we were settled onboard, Maddog got our headsets in place and ensured we were briefed on the helicopter's safety procedures. I appreciated his attention to detail to ensure we were all safe/comfortable! As you lift off, Maddog uses his personal playlist to play music that we could hear in our headsets throughout the flight. He did a good job at choosing appropriate and fun music. Any commentary from your pilot overrides the music so you won't miss anything. Maddog was sure to point out the sights and discuss the geology & history of the area/Grand Canyon West. He also touched on some of the native American trips that live in & around the canyon. Maddog seems to know his stuff. Maddog might suggest that you don't get caught up in taking too many photos because he wants you to not miss a moment of the flight. But, if you're like me, I like getting photos & videos along the way and you're welcome to take as many as you like! We flew by Hoover Dam, over Lake Mead, & then towards Grand Canyon West. Maddog was happy to answer questions along the way & continued pointing out sights. Expect Maddog to make more than a few jokes! As we approached the canyon we flew past the Skywalk. The descent into the canyon was breathtaking! You descend towards the floor as the canyon's walls rise around you. Maddog made a smooth touchdown at Serenity's landing site on the canyon floor. The views are tremendous. You can see the Colorado River not far from the landing site. The landing site has a few benches and a picnic table. Maddog got the picnic/drinks setup while my friend & I walked around the area to get a few photos & to enjoy the canyon. We eventually joined the other passengers/Maddog at one of the tables where we chatted for a bit and enjoyed the picnic. You are welcome to simply sit on a bench or rock & connect with the canyon or you can chat with your pilot/other passengers while enjoying the picnic. I did a bit of both & got a few photos with our helicopter sitting in the canyon. It's so peaceful on the floor of the canyon. After about 40 minutes on the floor the canyon, Maddog got us back into the helicopter for our return flight. The views on the route back to the airport are not quite as stunning, but still awesome. If you want to get any videos or photos on our flight of the canyon around you, take them as you begin your descent into the canyon. Maddog continued to play music for us & to point out sights. Back at the airport, we said farewell to Maddog & passed along some gratuity. You can also leave gratuity for your pilot in an envelope provided inside the terminal. Once back inside, you can view/purchase the photos that the staff had taken earlier. The staff offered us some more drinks. The lounge staff have a tip jar on the counter, so remember to bring a bit of cash for a tip as you will love everyone working here! On 9/30/18 I got to experience a day to remember in my lifetime! Jim Gisclair was our pilot and tour guide and he made the trip personalized and fun for everyone. Little does one know but Jim is an Army veteran with many years of flying experience. That came into play as we had to go through small rain showers and he not only handled it like a pro but showed us how a helicopter can create a rainbow as well. We got to see the end of the rainbow! He provided lots history to the area as we flew. I didn't know there was a dormant volcano and how early settlers migrated through the area. We landed on the Hualapi Indian reservation just outside Grand Canyon NP and got to take some beautiful pictures and have a light picnic. Well worth the trip! We were picked up on time at our resort and shuttled in a clean vehicle with a super nice gentlemen who obviously loved his job (which was so nice to see). As we entered to prepare for the flight the ladies at the counter were efficient and so nice. Wow, this was such an amazing experience. However, I am not even going to talk about the mind blowing view, because that is a given: you are going to get the same amazing view with any helicopter company. Here is what Serenity offers that made me want to recommend it. One, the high level of customer service. The people at check in made sure we were comfortable from check in, offering us water, answering any questions we may have. My cell phone was dying and they even let me use their personal charger! Two: the flight. Our pilot Mike was very informative and funny. A little eccentric I suppose, but he made he flight interesting with his little side stories and jokes. It was certainly extra ordinary with him as a pilot. Three: Safety. Mike was very safe: there was an incoming storm when we were about to head back to Vegas, and he was very cautious, and pre warned us that he may have to land elsewhere if he felt that it wasn't safe to fly. Upon landing, I saw another helicopter from another company fly into the storm, which Mike mentioned he wouldn't have flown into. Admitted, I am no pilot, but I know flying though a storm isn't ideal. I'm sure that the other pilot is experienced enough to know how to navigate thru a storm, but I feel more comfortable not having to take that risk. For all that, I highly recommend Serenity. Dan and I had a great time on our tour. This wasn't Dan's first time on this tour but it was my first. The van that picked us up at our hotel was very comfortable and they even had iPads for us to use on the 30 minute ride out to Boulder City. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. There are so many helicopter tours in Vegas it could be overwhelming but Serenity is the only company that provides a hot gourmet dinner at sunset AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GRAND CANYON! You get picked up at your hotel in a Mercedes equipped with iPads for you to enjoy. When you get to the helipad they check you in, and then off you go we got Captain Mike (a retired Navy pilot) very funny man and he really does play the best music while on your flight. You order your dinner when you book, and when you land in the canyon dinner will be served with champagne while you watch the sun go down. I had the steak and the Mr had the chicken (I forgot to ask how it was prepared - but both dishes were prepared by a French restaurant so it was very heavy. My husband would have preferred just a simple grilled chicken.) I, on the other hand , loved my dish! As you're flying over the canyon , it really does take your breath away (literally!) and will leave you in awe that all that you see before you have been in existence since the beginning of time. Really puts things in perspective about how small we are in the big scheme of things. They also have a sunrise tour but most people I know can't get up that early. :-P read more

This is my favorite thing I've ever done in Vegas...and I've done a lot!!! 15 trips and counting, baby - it steals the show without a doubt! First of all, I am terrified of heights. I get weak in the knees in glass elevators and on bridges. Why would I subject myself to this you ask? YOLO! You can slap me for that ridiculous pop culture phrase (what am I, a Kardashian?!) but it truly is the reason I made myself spend the $480 for the experience. Yes, you may balk at the price, especially considering it is more than the round trip airfare you paid to get to Vegas in the first place but...it is breathtaking. And one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World! The experience from start to finish is first class. Yet another reason I love small companies. They really focus on those finishing touches. We were picked up in a Mercedes van by the cutest, friendliest driver right on time. There were iPads (with internet!) and water for each seat as well as the ability to ask for good music to be played. He chatted with us for the 30 minute drive to their private airport and metaphorically held our hand during checking-in. The girls at the desk are pretty friendly although at times they seemed a little exasperated. I can't fault them...they were herding cattle! And when I say cattle I am being a bit sarcastic, there are only 12 people max. They have 2 helicopters which seat 6 tourists each. (Sooooo much better than the other companies that have 20 choppers in their fleet.) As soon as Caroline and I got in the chopper (seated right next to the pilot), I knew this was going to be in my top 5 favorite experiences ever. Our pilot, Dr. Love, was one of the coolest tour guides I've ever had (and I've traveled a lot). Plus I felt perfectly safe considering he was a fighter pilot and a helicopter mechanic. He syncs his ipod to correspond perfectly to what you're seeing (a REALLY good soundtrack - I won't spoil it for you but America's A Horse With No Name was on it) and gives a fun, informative and funny tour thousands of feet above the ground. I thought I was going to have to close my eyes the entire time but I felt like I was flying! I don't know why but I had no anxiety and felt safer in this tiny helicopter with glass at my feet than I do in a giant plane. And when we got to the Grand Canyon I felt like we were in a dream. It was surreal...especially when you land on their private landing at the bottom of the Canyon. What a view! And you get a picnic - with champagne! I was going crazy with my camera - that view! Don't worry if you're not a photographer type they take photos of you ($20 for a 5x7) and they film the whole thing, which you can purchase for $50 (it includes the photo as well). Another solo adventures, and best part of my Vegas trip this year! I was picked from my hotel by Serenity luxury limo and a friendly driver and we drove to the helicopter terminal. I was checked- in by the friendly staff at the first class facility, then we took off on my first helicopter ride which i will always remember. Mike, our pilot, was the BEST!!! We landed on a private shelf just about the Colorado river. We had about 35-40 minutes to explore and take pictures. It included a light picnic and a champagne toast. Our tour was so much better than we thought it would be. We did a tour over Hoover dam, Lake Meade and Grand Canyon with a stop in the bottom of the canyon. Our driver who picked us up at the hotel, Mico, was excellent and told us really fun and useful info about Vegas on our drive to/from the airport. The drive itself was in a really plush Mercedes van with leather stadium seats and ipads. Really first class. Mico was as good as they come and was professional and polite as he acted as a tour guide and logistics guy. Very impressive. Our helicopter pilot was Christine. She did an amazing job and was really fun to spend time with. She made us all feel very relaxed and safe the whole time and had really interesting things to say along the way. Total badass girl who seriously knows her shit. Its a quick flight to the canyon and once you're there, its so much better than what you expect. The landing gave us a chance to take it all in and was in an absolutely gorgeous spot. Bought this tour for my family through Costco. They picked us up at the Mirage and drove us to Boulder City airport. The driver was very nice and informative and we watched a safety video for the Helicopter ride on the way. Boarded our Eurocopter helicopter and flew over the Hoover Dam on the way to our landing spot in the western rim of the Grand Canyon. Pilot Mike (Mad Dog) Davis provided tons of great info and points of interest as well as some real good music. Mike was pure gold. Great pilot and great attitude. After landing we took many pictures. We flew about 45 minutes to the Grand Canyon taking in the beautiful scenery and then stopped for a picnic in the canyon. They are professional, friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. Shelby set everything up- she's an amazing person, it was a pleasure to deal with her. The tour itself is incredible. The flight was absolutely breathtaking, and the views were insane. Our pilot, Jim, was very knowledgable about the area and it's history, and explained all of the areas we flew over. They also play pleasant music in the background, which makes it very enjoyable. My tour also included a meal and drink- which they serve when you land in the canyon. The snack was beautifully presented and delicious. They video tape the entire experience, and you're able to purchase a copy of the video at the end. Joseph picked us up at the casino in a Mercedes sprinter van and drove us to the hanger where Cristina, Shelby and Jen got us prepped for our tour! It was our first time seeing the Grand Canyon. We took the sunset dinner tour and were very happy we did. Our pilot, Christy, was wonderful. Great music playing. She gave many facts about the area. She was a very sweet and personable host for our trip. So glad we got her. The view from a helicopter is nothing like you can get anywhere else. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. We're vegetarian and they accommodated us by serving a vegetarian lasagna, which was delicious! Others had what looked like a pot roast and mashed potatoes. I don't eat meat but it smelled great and they seemed to enjoy it. We spent some time on the bank eating dinner overlooking the Colorado River and then the trip back with a beautiful view of the sunset. Overall a great experience. read more

This is a bucket list item for us and it was amazing! From start to finish the professionalism of the staff was incredible and we were truly experiencing the Grand Canyon in style! I can't imagine going on a helicopter tour from companies off the strip. We got our vouchers from Costco and called to arrange our time & day with ease. We had a 9am departure time so we were picked up from our hotel at 8am in a Mercedes bus. Air conditioned with iPads for our comfort for the 20 min drive to the air strip with cold waters and mints. Awesome! The driver was super friendly and courteous. Inside they have biscotti on the table while we wait with mints & offered us water, juice & coffee while we waited for departure. Very first class treatment! Our pilot Mike Love was superb! The ride was amazing & we enjoyed the narrative tour. We landed on the west rim and had a light snack with a bagel, grapes, cheese & drink. We stayed there for 30 mins before leaving. We got to see the volcano, lake mead & Hoover dam. It's the only way to truly see the Canyon without driving for over 3 hrs from Vegas. It was an awesome experience and worth the money to fly in style. I wouldn't go any other way. Thank you guys my kids enjoyed it. read more

If I were able to rate this zero stars, I would. This morning we were supposed to go on a tour. Upon booking we were under the guise that each helicopter would hold 8 people and were told at pickup that it would only hold 6. We did complain that we were not told this earlier otherwise we would not have booked since there were 8 people in our party and we wanted to fly together. One of the drivers (told us his name was Jordan but I'm not sure it actually is) asks my father if he is a FOREIGNER and said that he did not feel comfortable taking "people like [us]" to the airport. The other driver proceeded to tell my father to "fuck off" and told him to "get off the fucking bus, bitch." They were incredibly rude and to call them bigots is putting it mildly. Additionally, Jordan told us he was speaking to his manager to have the police come to the scene but we came to find out that he was not speaking to the manager at all as she would not be in the office until 9am and his conversation took place at 6:45am. I was sitting next to a man gambling who just lost $600 playing blackjack and I couldn't help but think, you could have done one of the most amazing things in your life for less than that. My wife and I decided to fulfill a life-long dream of visiting the Grand Canyon. If we drove there it would have been a three-hour drive, and we would have only seen it from the top. So, we looked for a different way. We wanted to do it the right way. After heavy searching we found Serenity, they were the only company that seemed to offer the most romantic thing possible... To fly into the Grand Canyon, drink champagne and eat an amazing dinner, all while watching the sunset. It started with being picked up from our hotel by Adam. Adam set the mood. We got a little lost in hotel finding the pick-up and arrived a few minutes late. None the less Adam wasn't upset; he was genuinely excited to see us and made us feel as though we had been long lost friends (we loved it). After we got in the vehicle, he took our drink orders for the Canyon and we headed to the airport. We seamlessly got the rules and got onto the helicopter. Our pilot, Mike Love started the tour by reassuring us, he did this by giving us his background. With so much experience, we couldn't help but feel safe. Throughout the tour he told us amazing facts about everything we were seeing, I had so many questions, but he seemed to know, so throughout the adventure, every question I had, got answered. Once we landed, we took tons of pictures and before we knew it, we were drinking beers/champagne, telling stories, learning about the history of the Grand Canyon and watching the sun fade away. We returned as the sun finally set and couldn't believe what we had experienced. This was absolutely the highlight of our Vegas adventure. If only I could have told the gambler next to me to do this before he lost his money, he would have something wonderful to talk about instead of a bad loss. Finally, a deep thank you to Trina, the operations manager. We weren't sure about a few details and she went out of her way to help us. From the customer service to the experience, this is one of the best companies I have worked with and if you aren't sure how to visit the Grand Canyon, this is your answer. read more

Going to the Grand Canyon has always been on my "Must Do" List and what better way to see it than by helicopter! The staff at Serenity Helicopters were absolutely fantastic and made it an exceptional experience. We did the Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour with West Rim Picnic. You get to touchdown and have a picnic on the west rim of the Canyon with a magnificent view. The flight through the Grand Canyon with our amazing pilot Mad Dog "Mike" was absolutely spectacular!!!!! It was truly breathtaking in every sense. Mike was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out very interesting things all along the way which really enhanced our appreciation of the amazing terrain we were flying over. This was truly a trip of a lifetime and Mad Dog is not only a fantastic pilot he was the best guide ever! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Mad Dog & Serenity Helicopters.
