I have made countless complaints to the office and then after being ignored and the problem not addressed I contacted the Andover board of health. The board of health didn't even help when they had proof the management team wasn't completing the things they were supposed by law. I have dead mice in my apartment all the time. Mouse droppings in every room. There is a dead mouse just sitting right in front of the doors to the building. It's been almost a week since I noticed it and no one has disposed of it. Now after over a year of battling them they won't even let me out of my lease. I told them I did not want sticky traps in the apartment and without my knowledge they had put them under my couch. I found 3 mice stuck to one of the traps suffering and in panic. Two of the mice were stuck face to face so one mouse ate the other's head. I could go on and on about how horrible the leasing office is but it's not even worth it.

Not only are the neighbors nice and friendly. Not only is the rent affordable. Not only is the location easy from both 93 and 495... ...but the Lodge at Ames Pond has the best staff I've ever encountered. First make sure to book yourself a showing with Farida (or Greg, I'm sure he's nice too). She is up-front, clear, and a fantastic individual to work with. It's not a sales pitch with Farida, but rather an exploration of what would work best for you and your family. She knows the property inside and out, and loves it just as much as we do. You'll leave with a signed lease, and a smile on your face. Everything is easy, UDR makes renting from a REIT a breeze with their online systems and quick turn around. The maintenance crew keeps the property wonderful, responds to tickets immediately, and keeps all this snow out of the way. There are other places out there, but seriously, stop looking. No staff on site after hours. I called the emergency number for a flooded bathroom due to a sink supply line leak - no one responded until days later. - Literally the only non-threatening email we get from management is the once yearly cookout - paid for by Xfinity and not UDR. - They constantly remind you of your liability while accepting no responsibility themselves. And everything is an additional fee... - "Secure" (unsecure) package room? Fee. - Parking? Fee. - Security cameras mentioned in the lease - never show any useful footage of thefts/crimes - Wanna have a cigar outside on your balcony? Can't - total non-smoking property, even outdoors. - Pet rent - people are shocked when they hear how much I pay, they tell me what they pay and it's always an order of magnitude less. - Any utilities included? Are you kidding me, even though, without housing assistance, the cheapest 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment is currently going for $2,525 a month. Look elsewhere. I have had to leave my apartment on weekends to breathe. Anytime is rains I have leaks that come in my living room so I have to strategically place my furniture and the blinds don't keep the sun out. What complicates the issue even more is that I work from home so I get to work with a contact high that makes me nauseous. I also have a HUGE electric bill because the windows are drafty even though the maintenance team seals them. Again a bigger issue with weed smoke being stuck in my apartment. The heating ducts are right at the top of the apartment so the heat just rises. Oh and for location this is definitely the hood. Just take a drive up Jackson street to see what I'm talking about. The maintenance team is responsive and friendly so full marks there. For the money they are asking I'd look for something else.
