My sister and her friend were going to go out tonight on the first of April. them being over the age of 21 were going to consume alcohol at this facility. They asked for me to be their designated driver. Me being 18 with ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTIONS TO DRINK decided to take on that role and do the responsible thing. after spending the $15 a person to go in I go to the bathroom while my sister and her friend go and get drinks. we meet up shortly after and I ask them where I can go to get a soda. This being my first time ever going to a place like this and after tonight being the only time I will ever go, I didn't want to accidentally go to the wrong place and give anyone a thought that I was trying to so something unlawful. I get My soda and we step out onto the front patio, I talk to my sister and her friends for no more that thirty seconds and I told them, "You guys go and have fun, I will go and sit down and drink my soda." While I am talking to them one of the guards rips my drink out of my hands and yells at me. He said, "what are you drinking son." I respond with Pepsi. He then in an unsanitary fashion sticks his nose within five millimeters of my beverage. Like I had stated before it was only soda and I have NO INTENTIONS WHAT SO EVER OF DRINKING. My sisters friend tells him in an elevated voice due to the intensity of the music, "it is only soda." The guard who clearly can smell that there is no alcohol in the drink looks over at her and sarcastically said, "well then you can go and buy him a new one," and he throws my soda into the bushes. I never even took a sip out of the drink and he acted as if I should go out and buy another soda for him to throw into the bushes. The bartender gave me another soda but after that it took all my courage to take two sips of it. I have NEVER been in a situation of which I had felt so afraid, assaulted and harassed as this moment I had experienced tonight. I cannot believe that this is how anyone would treat customers and all I was doing was going out to make sure everyone got home safely and take a few potential drunk drivers off the road. We were in there for no more than 15 minutes and most of it was talking to the manager about the issue of which he did nothing. I understand that underage drinking is an issue you have to deal with regularly, and that that guard is pressured in a tight spot in having to deal with this, but that did not give him the reason to invade my emotion and traumatize me in the way that he did. There is a better way for him to approach this, He could have came up and politely said, Hey it is my job to make sure there is not underage drinking, can I check your cup to make sure of it?" I would have been fine with it, and anyone whom could have had alcohol in that situation would have been easily identifiable. Like I said this has been a horrendous experience for me and as I sit here typing this, I am extremely tense. I view myself as professional, I confront people in a professional manner and I expect similar treatment. Lastly I see in your description that you strive to provide an exceptional nightlife experience that you'll never forget. I can be the one to assure you that you have achieved that goal. read more

This place is vile and the bartenders have little to no respect for the customers unless you know them.... My friend who is a United States marine sat at the bar for 20 minutes waiting for a drink and was never acknowledged. I know said bartender from going here a few times and I walked up next to him and was told by my friend "good luck getting a drink" she immediately came up to me and asked me if She could get me something and I had a beer in my hand in under 2 minutes. The only reason she acknowledged me is because she knows I always tip generously and not knowing my friend she didn't know if he would so she made him wait. Then I proceeded to pay for my beer and not tip her on account of her lack of job skills and she had the audacity to ask me for a tip..... No shame daytona! No shame! I handed my beer to my friend who served our country but has to wait for some dumb skank to acknowledge him for twenty plus minutes to get a beer. I then left due to lack of respect for the establishment because I was utterly disgusted. 509 is the worst club I've ever been to and if you're looking for a decent club scene in daytona you should go to bishops right across the street. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. This place employs people who think it's okay to use the sexuality of their patrons/paying customers as bait for offensive, immature and idiotic jokes. My brother (a gay man) visited recently and was placed in the center of a homophobic joke (publicly ridiculed) by the door guy, bouncer and a local police officer! This was witnessed by my sister who confronted the three "men" and then left. I will not accept that a place where people are supposed to be going to have fun and let loose would EVER consider keeping on staff that promote a purposefully hostile or uncomfortable environment for their patrons! Not only is it immoral, but incredibly unprofessional. I would NEVER consider spending a dollar at a professional establishment that promoted homophobia and public ridicule like this. If you're in Daytona I do recommend skipping the club that slanders gay people. IT IS 2018 people!! Such a disappointment. read more

A dear friend of mine visited 609 Lounge with his sister and brother this past weekend to have fun and was instead treated with not only severe disrespect but also homophobic jokes by the door man, bouncer, and police officer. Any establishment who treats a person with this type of bias based on sexual preference or ANY prejudice whatsoever should be immediately shut down or have their employees fired. I am disgusted by whomever it was who felt that it is okay to treat another human being in such a horrific way. I will never set foot in a place like this and would encourage other people to do the same. read more

There was a homophobic aggression this past Saturday May 12th involving the door guy, bouncer and a local police officer towards a person who is gay. I witnessed the whole thing and it was disgusting and disturbing. Further Action will be taken against this establishment and would recommend not going to a bar that will slander gay people. read more

I absolutely loved my experience at 509 Lounge! The outside bar was fantastic, and the outside seating with firepits created such a cozy atmosphere. If you like Guidos, this is the place to be! All the bouncers and regulars are guido fags who love to lift weight and pound people to the ground at the bar for no reason. The manager, Eric, was so welcoming and kind. All staff was attentive and ensured prompt service. The ambiance was great with great pop music and colored lights.
