I WISH I had taken before and after photos of my yard! Life happened and before we knew it, our yard had become seriously overgrown. I felt awful for being a terrible neighbor. After doing some research and seeing many great reviews, I reached out to 50K Professional Lawn Services for a quote. It was more than reasonable so I booked the service straight away. Their online interface is so simple and easy to use! Communication by email and text message throughout the whole process is exceptional! They showed up in the arranged time window and set to work. In a few hours we had our yard back better than before! The overgrowth was terribly woody and our peach and fig trees were horribly overgrown. They trimmed them up and they are no longer trying to reach out and touch someone from across the yard. I am over the moon with the quality of service and I cannot wait to book them to redesign and landscape our yard soon! read more

As promised, here's a review update after using 50K for the entire summer for a total of 12 services. Unfortunately, my experience on the first service was indeed too good to be true. Things started falling apart beginning the next service and at this point, a 2-star rating is already being generous. TLDR - They are nice guys, extremely professional, but in way over their heads. Poor quality control, multiple property damages, slow service, and they simply don't have enough man power to make it to all of their appointments. Their professionalism is what earned them an extra star. I waited a few months before writing this review so that I'm not as annoyed at them anymore. I wish them the best of luck. They could be a great lawn company but as of now, I cannot recommend them to anyone. So where did things fall apart? Well, here are the highlights. This is a prime example of how a small company going way over their head, trying to achieve standards beyond their current capabilities. QUALITY CONTROL My instruction was simple. Mow the lawn high at 3.5" and bag the clippings. But since the initial service, the cuts have been all over the place -- as low as 2" and as high as 5" across different areas of the lawn and across services. One service would result in 3 bags of clipping while the next would result in half a bag. I constantly gave them feedback but It literally took them 7 services to start getting the height right. I mean how hard is it to cut evenly? DAMAGES We have 2 fruit trees in our backyard and they just keep damaging them. After each service, I would find new cut marks on the trunk, again and again. These are not light cuts. These are deep ones that cause the saps to start flowing out. As a result, our peach tree didn't even produce a single fruit this summer. I kept telling them to be careful but nothing was changed. I eventually gave up. And then, there's the fence. They damaged 2 areas of the fence during one service. I don't even know how. They took responsibility for it but it still took over a month to be fixed. SCHEDULING This is such a simple thing but it was ultimately the straw that broke the camel's back. There were a total of 5 services (out of 12) where they just didn't show up. No calls, no voicemails, no texts. Zero communication regarding what's going on. A simple "sorry, we ran late today but we'll come tomorrow" would have sufficed but nope, nothing. When I finally called them each time, they would say something like "we'll come tomorrow" and oftentimes follow it up with another no-show. There are a few times where a Wednesday service got pushed all the way back to Sunday. This really boggles my mind but it is what it is. Why would you lie to a customer that you would come and not show up? Things come up, I get that, but they clearly have a underlying scheduling issue. SLOW SERVICE We have a small 2,000 sqft lawn. Other providers take about 30 mins to complete the job. It took 50K about 75 mins on average (I calculated on a spreadsheet). On 4 services, they took over 1.5 hours (and over 2.5 hours on one of them)! My wife would text me occasionally and ask me why they are still there. ONLINE SYSTEM I like how they're using technology to streamline an outdated system of putting cash under the mat. Online payment is great. You get a reminder email 3 days before the service and another 1 day before it. That's all good... if you actually SHOWED UP! Then there are times where there's no reminder and they show up and wonder why the gate is not open. I've hired 3 other lawn care professionals over the last 2 years. I've *never* had any issues with mowing height, property damage, or scheduling. I guess this is what I get for being cheap and try to save $3 per service... lesson learned. My wife wanted me to fire them after the 5th service. I gave them chances again and again to get things right. But everyone has their limits and mine was after the 12th service, when they required me to setup automatic payment to continue service. Umm... no. read more

Do NOT use this company. Their invoices are SO confusing, they make it look like the contract is for about $1,700, which we assumed was for a year- no bells and whistles. They billed us $1,500+ each MONTH for a few months before we caught on that they wanted over $1,700 EACH MONTH for sloppy, erratic service! We had a lot of extra work done so we didn't catch that they were billing basic services at that huge amount. They DID do an ok job on re-doing our flower beds but we paid an extra $5,400+ for THAT! I admit I should have paid closer attention but we could have our yard done for about $300 per month! When you call, it's very hard to understand the "English as a second language" people who answer. Their website and software is excellent but the invoices do NOT show what month the services listed are for; it shows the entire year for each invoice. read more

They communicated very well on the status the whole time, explained their game plan, produced amazing work, and gave us a better deal than originally offered. All while being under staffed. I've been using 50k for my lawn and garden needs for a year and a half. I'm a single woman with a full time job and while I like planting plants and enjoying the results, I do not like to mow the grass or dig up hardpacked dirt to create beds out of lawn, so that's why I use them instead of doing it myself. I compliment them on their friendly customer service and speedy response time. They're neat, tidy guys (and if it matters to you, they're all fluent English speakers, so if you do not speak Spanish don't worry, communication will not be a problem, they're Filipino and all family I believe.) They're great for lawn mowing/edging and what I think of as routine maintenance. I have a big lot with lots of trees on a cul de sac and they charge me $40 to mow and edge front and back. They always send before and after photos, and I can pay with paypal. It's very convenient. When I need bigger projects my review becomes a little mixed. I asked them to dig a big rose bed out of the lawn and asked that it be rototilled at least a foot deep, remove rocks, add tons of compost, make it easy for me to dig in plants, then cover with weed block fabric and 3" deep of mulch and add metal edging-- first time, they just cut away the sod, put in the edging, put the weed fabric down, and put mulch on top. However the owner was appalled and personally came out to supervise his crew and took part in digging into the (rock hard) dirt, amending it with compost and doing the job as I'd requested it be done the first time. Fine, everyone makes mistakes, and I continued to use them for other projects like annual leaf vacuuming or planting new landscaping. I will say, they can be pricey for these bigger jobs-- at least I think they are. Again my property is big, maybe 1/4 acre, with tons of live oaks, so maybe $750 to rake up all the leaves, sticks and acorns at the end of winter and haul it all away isn't so bad? Ultimately though, I appreciate their attitude and willingness to provide excellent communication and customer service. To me that makes up for any little mistakes along the way. read more

While 50K may be great at trimming your lawn, you may want to shop elsewhere for anything that would require more than a mower and a string trimmer. Back in April of 2018, Carlo gave us a bid to do some fence work for us along with some landscaping work and tree removal. It's now November 2019, and the job is still not done. Not only that, but Carlo refuses to respond to us. The last we heard from him was that he was going to come out (I believe this was in April) to finish up work. We told him to not come do any work until he spoke with us first. That was the last we heard from him. I haven't seen him in person for about a year now. So, instead of a fence, we now have a partial fence, huge holes all over the property, combined with old fence posts, old wire fencing and garbage that his workers left laying about. We cannot mow because we cannot see what's out there. Now, while I am all for cleaning up the mess, the problem I have with doing so is that we PAID Carlo more than $10K (which was half the estimate) to get this job done. He's not only failed to hold up his end of the bargain, he's failed to clean up after his workers and left us with a very dangerous mess on our hands that we will have to pay to remove. We've removed the tree ourselves because it was damaging our house. We couldn't keep waiting for Carlo to follow through on his "we'll be done in 15 days" promises. We've also spent considerable money getting the property surveyed and all of the septic and electric lines properly marked. Of course, that was back in the spring of 2018, and none of those markers are visible anymore. If anything, this has been a very expensive lesson for us. Don't ever sign a contract that doesn't have an end date to it, and don't trust Carlo with large sums of money. He simply won't hold up his end of the contract. Save yourselves some money and a whole lot of grief, because big jobs like the one we hired 50K for really need to go to people who can and will get the job done. read more

50K just finished a 1X per year end-of-winter cleanout on my property, with roughly 3/4 acre of beds, trees and grass to address. They did an excellent job trimming beds and trees, bed building, mulching everything and hauling away. Far better than most services in attention to detail, making your yard look great, not "box-cutting" shrubs, but rather sculpting your garden. Very responsive, good communicators, and solid, hard working crews. These guys are not cheap, but they definitely deliver the quality. I've only used them for large, 1-off jobs, so have no idea how well they do on regular maintenance programs. Happy customer here - I will use them again for similar type projects. read more

Super easy to book these guys, since they have an online form and you pay online as well. Price is fair (especially if you don't have an overgrown lawn) and they have excellent communication. I submitted an online request and received a phone call that day; I hadn't expected that, as I didn't get around to requesting a quote until after 5pm, but they respond to clients until 7pm! They also sent email confirmations and follow-ups, with before and after pictures. They did the job the next day and it looked great. I really didn't know what to do, since I needed a quick cut on my overgrown lawn, and we rent so we don't want to invest in a lawnmower in case the next place we're at doesn't have a yard. This latest time I was actually out of town, but received a notice that my lawn was too long. Luckily I don't need to be on the premises to pay or have the job done, it was booked in less than 24 hours. Can't recommend them enough! read more

We contacted this company beginning of December and they were able to get someone out right away to give us a quote and begin working on our yard within a 1-2 weeks. We are very pleased with job 50K did in cleaning weeds and unwanted grasses out of some large flowerbeds in our yard. They got out amazing amounts of weeds while harming very few desired plants. We were certain many plants were going to have to get pulled up along with the weeds, but they preserved way more than we had reason to hope. Communication with 50K was both awesome and a little clunky. Emails were responded to well, while they were here working they checked in to make sure they were doing it the way we wanted, etc. The two minor down notes were that the initial estimate included some things we were not asking for (but which many people would). I told them this and they quickly adjusted their price. Also, people showed up a couple of times without first saying when they would be coming by. I thought this was a little odd, but it was potentially their time they were wasting, not mine. Anyway, they did a great job on the job they were asked to do, and I would be happy to recommend them for any work you needed. I'd like to be able to give an half star. read more

50 K has turned my yard into a showplace! What used to be solid clover is now green, healthy grass. And when my trees threatened to damage my roof, they let me know and cut the limbs, and removed a mid-size tree that was right next to the house and could damage the pipes. They also fixed my wobbly fence, and trimmed my bushes. I live out of town and have a wonderful tenant in the home. Once the work started, the crew foreman kept us informed of project status and checked in regularly to ensure satisfaction. Well, I was not impressed. I set them up on a hi-weekly schedule and because of a weather delay they came a couple of days later. Then, it all fell apart. I was told that they would come service my lawn on March 27th. As 5 pm rolled around, no one showed up. Then, when I call they told me some excuse and asked to call me back. They call back about 15 minutes later and told me that they would be there by 7pm. Well, no one came. I wish I had done this sooner! My yard is tiny but I can never go back there much due to being the number one love of mosquitoes. Thus, the leaves pile and pile and pile up, no matter how much I try to sweep. The team came in and worked well with me with getting their equipment over the fence since there is no way to my back yard except through the house. They did a GREAT job. I haven't seen my yard look like that since before I moved in! They were quick and excellent with an extreme eye to details, including hand-picking up leaves that were are annoying to get to. read more

Hired 50k from a recommendation from my neighbor. They've pretty much lived up to my expectations and provide a great service. My interactions have been over the phone or through email which suits me fine. Their email system is good at notifying you about appointments, feedback and invoices. 50K came out and did some weed and very top layer of soil and mulch removal for me. The work itself was fine, though I did do some additional root removal in the finished section after they left and my already shoddy border is now even shoddier. But doing a small patch and starting on another small patch took them four hours. I had another company come out and do an area that is literally 10x the size of the small patch in about 3 hours for 1/10th the price 50k had quoted me. I had given the same instructions and, they did the same work, and the quality was on par. It was even more difficult work since this had small trees rather than weeds. 50K had quoted the second, larger area for $1400 and the work was completed by a reputable local company for 1/10th that price at $146 for a crew that cost more than 50K's and that included hauling away the materials. I hired 50K through Amazon and am working with them to get my money back. 50K has said they will not refund me because I was "delighted" at the time despite the fact that I expressed surprise at how little had been done in four hours and the cost of the additional work and fees. 50K did not defend its work or speed in turning down my refund. I had been polite and appreciative of the crew and had signed approvals for the work and un-itemized materials, but I was not happy with the amount accomplished and was suspicious. I am not a confrontational person and I do not accuse professionals of things without evidence. I requested an itemized receipt and discovered that they had overcharged for materials. After picking up a shovel and doing a few sections myself and then contacting another reputable company and having them do the exact same work, it was clear the amount of time 50K took and the quotes they gave were outrageous. The fact that I contacted another company, got another quote, and had them do the work is indication enough that I was not "delighted." And - most importantly - the work speaks for itself. read more
