THIS COMPANY IS A DISHONEST CON JOB! STAY AWAY! One man mowed part of my yard for 20 minutes. I was charged $116 (so $348/hour equivalent for one person). This Monday midday, I sent in a form asking if today would be a possibility to mow and rake the leaves in my yard? I called soon after that. The woman on the phone said she had just noticed my form come in. I was told that the earliest they could get to me was Wednesday and it would be $116. *The Just Right Lawns employee blew leaves into my flower beds and into the left side of my driveway where there is also grass. This grass was not mowed or touched. I called afterwards assuming it was accidentally forgotten and was told that because there were leaves on the area that it was not mowed. Curious because the lawn that was mowed also had leaves on it. *Nobody communicated with me that part of my lawn would not be mowed. Nobody told me that my leaves would not be addressed (the reason I sent in the form in the first place - my grass was short as I normally mow it every 2 weeks). The guy left my house without discussing any of this with me. When I noticed he left, I called and was given the run around, that I could have paid an additional fee for leaves to be bagged. $116 for a 20-minute con job. There is no excuse for this. I have NEVER had to leave a review for a business... In the last 10 years, they have left the gate open countless times. Very nice easy gate to close. Dog has run away twice. They have completely killed the lawn almost every other year. I hired them to bag leaves and they can't even do that. So I stopped the lawn service and hired them to just do fertilizer and regrow the lawn. They killed the lawn again. NEVER communicated between "mowing" and "fertilizer" teams. I utilized Just Right for a few months, and canceled services due to my lawn not needing service weekly. While they did a good job, I didn't need it that often. I attempted to call and email multiple times to cancel my account, and never received any response. They continued to charge my card (and albeit come for service), I ended up straight having to CANCEL MY CREDIT CARD to get them to stop trying to charge me. I finally got a cancellation confirmation email on 7/9, but wouldn't you believe they've CONTINUED to try and charge me for almost a month afterwards, including sending me texts and phone calls "to get me caught up." I'm all about consistency as much as the next person, but if you cancel an account and send confirmation...stop. charging. your. customers! read more

Inconsistent, sometimes they do a great job sometimes my yard is left really uneven/patchy. They've broken one of my sprinkler heads twice, the first time they came out and fixed it no problem. They said they would make it right if this ever happened again. It happened again and when I called to tell them and see how we could fix it I was met with a really rude woman over the phone who got defensive and made me really uncomfortable. Definitely not worth the price, I've been with them over a year and I've been patient with them but this is the final straw. The service started out pretty good, but eventually we noticed that our backyard was not getting mowed at all, the quality of the lawn mowing and edging was bad for the front yard- the only yard being "mowed." When I called to find out why our backyard was not mowed, I was given all sorts of excuses. I requested that I be reimbursed at least half of the cost, but told no. So, I cancelled the service. Although they are perhaps not the least expensive option you can find, their employees do a competent job and their office staff is friendly and reasonable. I would recommend checking prices with them on a regular basis and keeping track of the mow days at your house, to avoid any surprises. They increased their prices, which is expected due to inflation. Then, all of the sudden, they started charging 8 dollars per bag to "Bag the Grass." An additional new charge, which made the price sky rocket. First it was one full bag each time. This week two half full bags folded down. For the record, they're not even cutting the grass as low as they used to, so that's another issue. When I try to talk to the lawn guy, he says he can't understand. I won't wait around to see what they plan to bag next week. They never left grass on the lawn before so I guess they were taking it with them or had a decent lawn mower. Forget it. read more

Used their service for 6 biweekly mows beginning when I moved into my new house. They were kind enough to charge me $30 extra due to the grass being just over 12" when I moved in. Fast forward two months and it hasn't rained, the city is on water restrictions and the grass hasn't grown. Yet they come out, blow the leaves off of the driveway and charge me full price. When I call they offer to discount my next service by $15. I'm paying $65 a visit. I ask them to cancel my service so that I can find a business that doesn't charge me for work they haven't done. One more update about this service, because you can only say so much about lawn care, but... After I specifically mentioned in my Yelp review, that I wished they would tend to the weeds in our empty flower beds and our our deck they started doing it again. As I said before, a company tracking Yelp reviews doesn't always mean better service, but in this case they really do seem to care about feedback... Now that said, I can see why they weren't dealing with the weeds on our patio, because ours is covered in small rocks, and those small rocks can kick up and brake the glass near by... so whoops... cause now our patio door is shattered. NOW, you would think I would dock them a star or even several for that, but NO WAY. They called us right away, cause we weren't home when they came by. Had a glass repair place out within an hour to begin the repair, and they are paying for the damage, so mostly I'm just hella impressed. It's not their fault our patio is made the way it is, and like I said, we weren't home. If we had come home to see the shattered glass I would have assumed it was a bird or something, they totally didn't have to take responsibility for it, but they did. Right away. They have to be the worst lawn care company I have ever used. They used this stand on lawnmower and every time they made a turn it ripped my grass out. They also missed parts of the lawn completely. They sent another crew to take care of the poor workmanship, and they missed parts of the lawn completely. I also wanted to mention that it looks like they subcontract out because neither of the two crews had a company vehicle. They then sent a rep to look at the lawn and he agreed with me that the lawn looked like S*#T. So, I tried to get my money back for the last butchering they did to my lawn, and they replied by saying that they sent another crew out to fix the problems and they would not give my money back. We have had multiple issues with this company. First off they quoted us a price of $300-400 for the entire job. Which I was fine with even if it busted the $400 range for a job well done, I honestly felt that $300-400 was a very fair price and would have paid a bit over no problem. Well we get the invoice and they didn't even finish half of the yard and it was almost $600. They stated they would need another almost $300 to finish. That's quite a screw up on bidding! I requested some explanation prior to billing and they never responded. We emailed again asking for someone to call us and never got a call. I have been a customer for years, but lately the quality of service has declined. After their pet waste removal today I had to go re-poop scoop the yard. When I called to ask about this they told me it had been done, but there is zero evidence of that. Very frustrating. My kids got a new trampoline for Christmas, and I called to make sure they could mow under it (there is plenty of room and 3 open points of entry for the lawnmower). They confirmed that they could, but now in the Spring they have been leaving it. The manager says they will "sometimes" do it. I am looking for a new service. read more

The sign up process and the first service were fine but the second group that came out (it is all contractors - no in house mowing) left the yard worse off than before they came. While Casey, Dawn and Danny were all friendly on the phone, they weren't able to fix any of the problems (they could give me a re-do on the mow, but not the leaf pickup.. however i needed the leaves blown off the furniture/house/porch after they were blown onto there-- the grass couldn't really get any shorter). I also couldn't get a refund for the $140 spent on a giant mess, and was told 'I paid right away'... i wasn't aware i had a choice to not provide my credit card info upon signup. So, I canceled. If you want a lousy job done that has to be done within 30 minutes, doesn't touch flower beds, or take any care (I watched collected leaves get blown behind my AC after the (half full, non shredded, 10 leaf-bag max was achieved)) then Just Right is for you... read more

For some reason they have an answering service that signs you up for service and those folks are another page. Originally I was told edging, mowing, blowing and mulching would be 52ish after tax but they change their terms randomly. We've had their mowing service every 2 weeks for a year. They arrive the day they are schedule to. Are done in under a half hour, including weed eating edges. And the yard has never looked better. Grass is reclaiming areas previously with weeds because the yard is mowed so regularly. The price is also reasonable compared to competitors. Since day one the level of service has been very inconsistent; something is always missed. Before the first service we agreed upon several tasks to be done each visit, and after 6 visits, one of the tasks still hasn't been done. A mower ran over some newer plants in my yard, that are clearly visible. A credit was then offered, which I appreciated. You would think that the company would ensure that the credit is applied to my next services, but it wasn't. I have had to call multiple times to inquire about it, then finally part of the credit was applied to a future service, but there was still more credit that I was due. Again, no one was applying the remaining credit to my next services, after many calls. Why am I having to remind the company to apply my credit? Another frustration is their website, why does it keep telling me that my password is incorrect every other time I try logging in to their site. Each time it happens I reset it to the same exact password, only to have it happen again later. I have my login info stored and refer to it each time, so it's not me forgetting or mistyping it. Today I contacted a rep, had them remove my credit card info, conveyed all that I have stated above and said I'm done with this service.....forget the credit, it's just not worth it. They were able to fit me in on the same day, even after it just rained! This service does a great job, and I have used them before in the past. Very dependable, very reasonable in their rates too. I gave them chance after chance because the front office is nice but the lawn cutters are flat out malicious. I thought at first it was incompetence but when you add up all the facts, it has it has to be intentional. Firstly, they destroyed of all my solar LED lights that were installed around my tree by knocking, mowing over and breaking them. Those solar lights were a gift to me from my sister for my housewarming so they can never be replaced. Secondly, they caused all kinds of rips and holes into my garden holes, which were always hung up, hosed up out of their way. There is no excuse. Another issue is they would constantly miss appointments. It would be late in the day so I would call to see if they were in route in the office and the office records showed that they should have visited my home already. One of the times, I just wanted to see what was gonna happen if I hadn't called into the office because it's not my job to remind them to come and cut my yard and sure enough they never came and when I called the office the next day they had marked off that they had completed my yard so the office has to reverse that charge that was going to be put on my account and that was one of the most troubling incidents. Another one that was really upsetting was they had skipped over cutting weeds. It was like they purposely mowed around weeds that were within my yards boundaries so I had reported that to the office. When the mowers returned, they ended up maliciously cutting some of my bushes and those bushes had been planted over two years ago, so replacing them is not an easy fix, but all of those things really suffice to show not only were they incompetent, but there was some malice behind their behavior. I think though what was the icing on the cake was the untrustworthiness of them not showing up for appointments yet marking it as showed up and still trying to charge me. The operators and front office office were nice and willing to correct the issues but ultimately the lawnmowers were not to be trusted and with that kind of business I ended up deciding that it's best that I do my own yardwork or hire someone else. read more

These guys do a great job with our lawn. They are fast friendly and I never even notice when they come and go. I have forgotten to put my water hose away a couple of times and they have done it for me. They are a bit expensive but in this case I would say you do get what you pay for. I have a garden in the back yard and I've often left a mess while weeding and things like that and they always seem to clean up after me. I never expect them to do more than mow so all this is an added benefit for me. If you are thinking about using them I would say do it. First off, the mowing service is very poor quality. I'm not even sure just right lawns does the mowing but they contract with mowing services. We've had to point out on multiple occasions that it needs to be redone. Unfortunately, we are at work typically when they mow so we don't get the opportunity to point out the areas they missed or did poorly. Second, I cancelled the service in December 2021 but they decided to start it back up again without any notice this February. Last December I told the customer service agent to put my account "On Hold". They run a scam when you put account on hold that means they start up your service without your notice a few months later. The best part is when the service was start back up again (without our notice) they had nothing to mow because we did a complete remodel of our landscape and removed all of the grass in our backyard and a lot in our front yard. The mowers showed up, did nothing and then left. The service overlaps with our work so we didn't know they were mowing. We periodically check our bank statement and that's when we realized they were charging us. So we got SCAMMED twice. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Find a small local lawn mowing / landscaping team you can build a relationship with that knows your house and is honest. It's really sad I'm writing this I've been a customer for over 3 years and had a few problems with dog waste pick up but after giving them a call the situation was always fixed, until I tried the landscaping option to pull weeds and smooth out the rock bed with a 3 1/2 to 4 hour limit which was all agreed upon. 2 gentleman came and started working, i even told them what I'm looking for. I go out and look they are gone without saying anything and the job undone, OK no problem i called and explained what happened and they said they would send the crew back to finish the job 3 weeks later I'm still waiting and after getting a invoice for $467.83 and the job never got completed is a punch to the gut. At this point I'm a unsatisfied customer and during this Pandemic money is hard to come by and money is really not the issue the issue is a customer service!!!! The job that they said was gonna get done is still not done. I talked with Anabel who apparently is a manager but the last form of contact??? So Anabel agree they didn't complete what was asked and Acknowledg that they left without saying anything, and all she can say or offer is the only stayed 3 1/2 hour and they can come tomorrow for 30 min and that it no matter if the job gets completed or not!!!!! I canceled my service after overlooking several management process failures over many years of being a loyal client. My back yard was skipped twice in a row, yet I was charged for the full service. I asked management to send someone out to correct the problem before my next scheduled mow, but they would not incur the extra expense to provide the originally contracted service. On the day of my next scheduled mow, the back yard was skipped again. I phoned that day and asked them to send someone out to correct it that day. They would not. I asked them to credit back the two partial services, but they would not. (They offered 20% off the next scheduled job, which has no value since the job was only done 50%). This has happened at least twice a year for the last several. Even more frustrating, there has been a longstanding note on my account to phone me immediately if there is trouble accessing the back yard. Even though the customer service folks agreed that this was a good solution, it was never employed. The front line workers are wonderful people and do a great job in terrible heat. The management systems are broken and the office policies are robotic and rigid. I feel sorry for the people who work there and have to play out the script, particularly when the processes are so easy to correct (schedule an on-call team for problems, let the line workers look at agreements in the client account notes). The owners really need to pay attention to quality and client communication and empower their workers to honor agreements with clients. read more

Pay attention to the low reviews about Just Right Lawns. They are there for a reason. I wish I would have checked Yelp first. The crews are mostly if not all contractors. They will rush the job and leave incomplete and or damaged with ruts throughout the yard. I watched an employee literally run with a lawnmower to finish and move on to the next location. Instead of blowing the leaves into the yard and then mowing, they do just the opposite. Then when they leave you have leaves all over the yard which looks unkept. They block the driveway every time even though they've been asked not to (I've had to wait twice for someone to move their vehicle so I could come and/or go). There are plenty of other places to park along the yard. I only started using them because of a recommendation from a neighbor. Now I find out that neighbor has requested that a crew not be assigned because they have had crappy service on multiple occasions and they were told by Just Right Lawns that they had to deal with it because they won't stop sending that crew. Does that sound like Just Right Lawns has customer satisfaction as their primary focus? Save money and frustration by choosing a better company. You'll thank yourself. read more

This company is a joke and they don't understand what customer service is. They sent a crew to cut our grass and one of their team members, Antonio, was weed wacking the backyard when a stone hit the kitchen window and cracked it. I reported the incident and was asked to send in photos which I did immediately. No one called me back so I continued to follow up. I spoke to multiple people in the office including their supervisor, Annabelle, who was useless. At one point, they agreed to send out a window repair technician but after my 4th follow up, and after they asked me to send them more pictures, they said they weren't going to cover the repair after all since it wasn't there fault. I made it very clear to Annabelle that I was at home, in the kitchen, when the incident happened and she informed me that "unfortunately, their decision had been made" and that they were not repairing the window. I asked to escalate the issue and I was told a site visit would be made and that another supervisor would call me back. That was 3 weeks ago so I followed up today and continue to get the run around. I asked to escalate this above Annabelle to her supervisor, Victor, but the rep taking my call refused to put me in touch with Victor indicating (15 times like a broken record) that the chain stops with Annabelle and that she'd call me back even though she hasn't called me back nor has she been able to resolve this issue over the last 2 months. If you're ok working with a company who boldly states that their customers are liars and they don't have a customer service department with a path to escalate common issues such as this, then this is a great company to work with. Absolutely terrible experience with this place. Hired them for some general yard work. There wasn't a lawn to mow or anything so the job mostly entailed getting rid of leaves. They basically decided to just push the leaves into two huge piles and then leave them on the property. I don't know what else they did... It couldn't have been that difficult to blow the leaves into a couple of piles. I tried to call them to get this fixed and they basically said that I would've had to pay extra for the leaves to be removed. Steer clear of this place. They will take advantage of you. The last few months this company has disappointed us. They ruined a rug of ours which they did replace however each time we've had service since, our yard is just left messier than before. Things are blown all over the place, and things are lost. I've lost a pair of shoes nowhere to be found, my son's toys were blown all over the yard and some things never found again. I've had these guys coming to mow my lawn for almost 2 years now, and to be honest I don't know why! They have mutilated the condensation drainage line coming out of my house 4 different times, they don't edge very well along the fence line, and they don't always blow clean my patios after they are done. They ARE super quick, but what's one thing we all learned in school...The quickest isn't always the best...leads to sloppy, lazy work, which is exactly what these guys exude...laziness and sloppiness. Today was the last straw. I peaked outside, and there was a freakin 8-yr. old mowing my front lawn!!! Come on!!! This is totally unacceptable. I will never use Just Right Lawns or recommend their services. I have a small dog that the company had been told about and may be in the backyard which has a gate. Only using their services for approximately nine months, the crew left the gate open on three different occasions which caused my dog to wander the neighborhood. The first time, I get it. It happens. But when they suggested placing a combination lock at their expense to ensure the safety of the pet, they STILL left it open. In fact, I repeatedly asked for the combination but never received it; so, I couldn't even access my own gate at any point in time. Lastly, when I was moving, I wanted to try to use them due to price and the office staff always seemed sincere in making the error right. (Although, they always stated the owner would call me but never did.) They asked for the legal address to look it up online for lot size to quote a price (as they had for this property), I explained that although it was over an acre, it was dense forest minus approximately .25 acre of grass and sparse trees. I was told I would be charged by the size of the lot and not what was actually being maintained and refused to have someone drive out to confirm. Major fail. read more

I have been using Just Right Lawns for about a year and half now. They are awesome and reliable. I believe for all that they do I am paying a decent price as well. They come twice a month from about March til October and then I think November to February only once a month. They mow, edge and weed eat. On many occasions we have left out weeds from our garden and they take those as well. I have called them once for special instructions on what not to mow as we had cucumbers in the garden and they were taking over. The message was communicated well to the workers and they went around everything we requested. I have gotten many compliments on my yard, which is nice. I originally was calling around to have someone temporarily mow my yard while my lawn mower was broke, but I have never cancelled this service. Just Right Lawns has been a pleasure and a luxury service I am willing to continue so that I have more time with my family and to do the things I really love, which does not include mowing the lawn :-P read more

Anabel was extremely helpful, courteous, friendly, and of the utmost professional in her assistance, Since we are not customers of the company, Cindy and Michelle, both Managers had to navigating through the accounting procedures to get my repair reimbursement. Everyone in the office is very nice, but it doesn't matter much if your lawn is not actually getting mowed. I've used them for several years and they've deteriorated to the point where they are completely unreliable in coming out when scheduled, causing huge gaps in service to occur and my lawn to get overgrown, and me to have to constantly call them to track down why they didn't come out as scheduled. They usually blame this on "staffing" issues, and clearly can't keep a crew that can handle the volume. They also recently sent out a new schedule cheerfully announcing that they'd automatically switched all customers to a different frequency than they signed up for beginning this winter. I've cancelled my service. UPDATE: They continued to charge me for services that were not performed on dates after they confirmed my cancellation via email. They claim to have already refunded the errant charges but have not done so, and I have to continue to correspond with them about this ineptitude. I just started my second year of service with them. I've always been satisfied with their service, because they were fast and efficient. However, I'm giving them 3 stars, because when I tried to transfer service to my new house that I just bought, they said that they didn't service my area. That's fine, but now they're charging me $25 for "cancelling" even though I can't use their service anymore because they don't serve my area. Their policy states that if you cancel before the 6 mow minimum, you would be charged $25. I asked if they still intended to charge me the $25 even though I had TRIED to transfer service, and they said yes because of the policy. So much for customer service. ------------------------------------- UPDATE: Just got an e-mail from them and "after carefully reviewing my account," they see that I've been a long-time customer, so they're not charging me the $25 cancellation fee.
