    No hostess....

The hostess made this establishment look bad. As we were waiting to be seated, she took her time to go chat with people she must be f known. She proceeded to look right at us and kept walking to the back. I requested the assistance of the manager, Asher. After explaining the situation, he a sure us he would handle it. Our waitress, Mason was very polite, friendly and diligent. Making our visit pleasant. Thank you Asher and Mason.

You know I don't think I've ever seen a texmex arcade combo, maybe that's a sign of me not being worldly but it was an interesting experience. The place was a mix of dining areas and the arcade section (which appeared to also have dining places within it). Starting with the arcade, it's filled with all the traditional games with air hockey, big bass wheel, and guitar hero which I'm dumpster at. The actual restaurant (which makes the bulk of this ranking) was serviceable to pretty good. FIRST OFF, 4 people cannot subsist off of a single chip basket, it's such a small thing but man you notice the chips disappearing quick. Our actual server was really quite good however, very polite. The ambiance was to my liking, the fake flower trees were out there but much appreciated. For a GLEAMER (Grand Lubbock eating at Mexican establishment review) ranking the food was just ok, on average, meeeeh, the chimichanga was eh, the chips, queso, and salsa, eeeeh. Also quick mention, but doing the arcade after the meal was an abysmal idea, definitely do arcade first, and don't get a Mexican stomach ache. 10/15 good for everything but the foods just ok

**Boxed Mac and Cheese Alert** Wow. This place really made me sad. It felt dirty right as I walked in. The hostess was nice but nothing else was. We started off by ordering Chips and Salsa, Bacon Cheese Fries, a water and a Dr Pepper. The Dr Pepper was so watered down it was just carbonated water. Naturally, we asked for another one. Same thing. Wasn't any better. Our waitress left both cups on the table instead of removing them, and she was hard to find when we needed her. We had to flag a different waitress down to take the menus because ours didn't. We then ordered some Texas Chili Longhorn Enchiladas with a side of Mac and Cheese and Refried Beans as well as the Awful Awful Burger. The burger looked great when it came out; The Longhorn Enchiladas... not so much. It looked like a pool of cheese in a dish with diarrhea in the bottom. The Mac and cheese was literally Kraft out of a box and the beans had that metallic can taste. Disgusting. So far it looked like my burger was going to be the only highlight. I bit into it and... it was undercooked. It is unsafe to eat undercooked ground beef. We talked to the manager about our experience, and he admitted that the Chili came out of a bag and the Mac and Cheese came out of a box. None of it was fresh and he said they keep doing it because "it sells". Isn't it a little unethical to take someone else's product and sell it as your own for more money? There were absolutely no redeeming qualities about this place. I usually give restaurants another chance, but they'll be just fine without me.

Undercooked and smaller than what I ordered.

Matias was warm & friendly. So service was good. Food was acceptable, even though the steak was a bit bland.

Listen up, this place is new (opened late Nov 2024) so they are still working out the kinks. I say this because there are two reviews on this place that mention negative things. IMHO I think thus far they are excelling and will only get better and better. We need to give them grace as they learn and grow. ***So please READ MY REVIEW and ignore the 1 stars.*** The food we ordered was tasty, affordable and came out quickly. Drinks for the entire table were on point. Shout out to Chet who will gladly curate a drink for you if you are not sure what you want. Oh and did I mention 237 is located inside? 237 is Speakeasy located inside of Soggy Dog (at this time 237 is open Thur-Sat nights). 237 has it's own vibe and drink menu. PRO TIP: Enter Soggy Dog through either of the double set of metal doors. Yes you are at the right place. I will take pictures of the entrance on my next visit.

The chips and queso were an appetizer but came out with the rest of the food. Queso was extremely burned so I asked for it to be removed from the ticket; instead, they replaced it with spicy broccoli cheese soup. Okra and fries were not cooked all the way through; seems hard to mess up food service frozen food, but here we are. The hot chicken sandwich was made with chicken so tough I couldn't cut it. The hot sauce was nice, the salsa was decent. My giant mug of beer was flat but at least it was cold. Overall: poor food, slow service. Was hoping for better.

When we walked in on May 19, 2026, the place was not too busy at around noon. Right away I noticed low lighting. Cool alternative, rock, and old R&B music playing in the background. A full bar. Pinball machines for tables. Lots of nostalgia in this place! Restroom was mostly clean. The food was okay. I wish there was a bit more flavor to everything. My daughter agreed. + The Damned Dog ($11) "All beef frank, house beef chili, cheddar, diced onions, and jalapeno crispies." This was good but the frank and chili needed more flavor. I opted for a side of house-made vegan potato salad (additional $1.50) instead of potato chips which really good. + The Sourpuss ($12) "Bratwurst, sauerkraut, pickle slice, crushed salt & vinegar chips, and queso fresco." My daughter enjoyed this with ketchup and mustard added and a side of smoked gouda mac. That mac was very tasty. We also noticed how crisp and spicy our Sprite and Dr. Peppers were. Loved that. I'd definitely go back again for a drink and maybe a sandwich next time. Ample lot parking.

We started out with the mozzarella logs and the devil's on horseback. 10 out of 10 on both. For the entrées, we ordered the boom boom shrimp tacos and the ribeye sliders. I couldn't believe how tender the ribeye was in the sliders. They were so good. For dessert we had the mini beignets and the bread pudding. I think the beignets were better than the ones from New Orleans. They were so soft and warm. Yum! My Husband compared the bread pudding to the one at the Dave Ramsey restaurant in Las Vegas. The ambience was cool of course. It's a sports bar so you hear everyone's excitement from football. Pretty cool location if you ask me. I highly recommend if you're in the area or live in Lubbock.
