    Seafood over pasta
    Rose W.

Came here today with a couple of friends for Restaurant Week lunch. It's quite a good deal at two courses for $29.95. I had the eggplant rollatini appetizer (quite tasty) and the seafood over pasta (which was incredible -- an enormous portion with tons of seafood). Deducting one star because it's pretty noisy in there (very large room) and because even though there were lots of servers and busboys circulating (all of whom were very pleasant), the service wasn't as attentive as I would have liked.

We decided to try 512 Bistro after seeing it listed on Hudson Valley Restaurant week. Wow, what a meal we had, probably one of the best we ever had during these promotions. The portion sizes were amazing, we started with the Cozza del Golfo and the 512 Bistro salad. The mussels were plentiful and nice and large, the white wine sauce was excellent, the salad was also very good. Next up the mains, we had the Chicken via Roma and the 512 Bistro Seafood pasta. Wow both of these were excellent but the star was the seafood pasta! Linguine was al dented and we couldn't believe the amount of seafood on the dish! Desserts were had were the Tiramisu and the Rice pudding, both again were a great way to end the meal. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant.

Recently dined here to celebrate my birthday! All staff was so friendly & welcoming upon our arrival. We had made a reservation beforehand and didn't have to wait at all. We were quickly escorted to our table- we were seated in the back room. I had the 512 Bistro Pasta minus the mushrooms and provolone cheese. Absolutely delicious! Both of my parents got the chicken scarpariello, which they also loved. My other two family members each got the salmon panino (one with regular fries & the other with upgraded sweet potato fries). The panini was quite substantial in size, so much so that they each took a half home! We were all too full for dessert, but the staff knew it was my birthday. They came out with a decorated plate with blueberry flan and sang to me. They also had a singing candle thing, which was a nice extra touch! They truly went out of their way to make my birthday special.

Still great food, service and atmosphere! It's a little pricy and the Paella was delicious but not the best I've ever had. We had a great time, and will definitely go again.

Great choice !!! Restaurant week menu !! Place so trendy ,waiters on point , and the food was phenomenal... place was packed, every one left happy .. plus by mistake they forgot to bring my left overs so they made another dish . definitely will be back ...

Stopped in for a Saturday Brunch. Weekend brunch menu is nice and comes with soup/salad, choice of drink and meal for a great price. I ordered the autumn squash soup, house margarita and chicken dish topped with mozzarella cheese, peppers, etc. side of mashed potatoes and vegetables. ( My entree was enormous) Hubby got a chicken wrap with crispy fries and loved it. The bread on the table was delicious and warm and olive/oil dip was great to start. We also enjoyed our spicy margaritas .. thanks Carlos!

A friend and I visited 512 Bistro Bar Restaurant on a Sunday night during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, and it was an experience to remember. Neither of us had been there before, but we decided to take a chance--and we're so glad we did! I made a same-day reservation and was pleasantly surprised by how accommodating and welcoming the staff were from the very start. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and promptly shown to our table. The ambiance was cozy yet vibrant, with a unique decor featuring paintings from major cities and a ceiling adorned with red and orange squares that gave the space a warm and inviting feel. The service was truly outstanding. Our water glasses were kept full all evening without ever needing to ask, and the pacing between courses was spot on--smooth, relaxed, and never rushed. Our server was attentive but not overbearing, always nearby when needed. As for the food, everything we had was exceptional. - For my appetizer, I had a Restaurant Week special salad--fresh mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red beets, and goat cheese tossed in a balsamic dressing, beautifully garnished with a purple orchid. It was not only visually stunning but also generous in portion and full of flavor. - My entrée was the Salmon, broiled to perfection and topped with fresh crab in a light lemon white wine sauce. It was served with creamy garlic mashed potatoes and crisp, fresh broccoli. Every element was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. - My friend ordered the Pollo Con Portobello--a tender chicken breast topped with portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, zucchini, and melted mozzarella in a rich cognac reduction sauce. She was equally impressed, and both of us ended up taking leftovers home. - Of course, we saved room for dessert. I ordered the homemade tiramisu, and although I'm not usually a fan, this one was amazing! It was light, perfectly balanced with coffee flavor, and came with fresh strawberries and cream drizzled in chocolate--an elegant and delicious finish. My friend had the crème brûlée and said it was delightful as well. In short, this was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the warm welcome to the delicious food and exceptional service, 512 Bistro Bar Restaurant is a place I'll absolutely be returning to--and recommending to others!

Peach bbq shrimp with Jasmine rice and asparagus

This restaurant is absolutely fabulous! The Alaska crab cake and clams casino were off the hook. The peach bbq shrimp dish was so delicious. You couldn't really taste either of them because the flavor was not over powering yet it was there. The prime rib was delicious although we would have preferred it without the gravy. The drinks were great too. Wine and white cosmos were the order of the day. This is our first time here but we will be repeat customers.

We used to go here often when it was the Briars, it had become stale and outdated however. The good folks at Terre Rustica(down the street) and one of our favorite restaurants took over and livened it up some. The menu is a Latin/fusion vibe that just hits right. We were met at the door by Jose whom we recognized from Terre Rustica, he is a really nice guy. The waitstaff is attentive, friendly, pleasant and very helpful. We started with some cocktails snd dove into some fried calamari with jalapeño and Thai chili sauce. The light fry on the calamari made them crisp yet tender. Delicious. I opted for the prime rib at the suggestion of our waiter, it came with bacon mashed potatoes (yum!!) and asparagus. My wife wife went for one of the many specials offered, lobster and crab ravioli. They came in a creamy pink sauce smothered with small shrimp and scallops. Truly delicious. For dessert - Nutella churros - just wow! They were heavenly. Pricing is on par with other restaurants in the area and not out of bounds by any means. We will go back often and explore the diverse menu options. They may have just stolen us from Terre Rustica. Oh, and they do brunch!

We went with friends who live in the area and it was terrific! Wonderful food and the service was perfect! Chicken Sorrentino was scrumptious and was topped with an orchid bloom! Very nice, welcoming staff. When we're in the area we'd love to dine there again!

We were heading up to Croton-on-Hudson for a show and none of the restaurant options were looking appealing. We wanted something with a view of the water since it was the first truly Spring weather day we'd had this season. I saw that the rating for this place wasn't spectacular, but loved the photos and decided to read recent ratings, and we decided, even if the food is "meh" at least we'll be outside by the water. The Boathouse did not disappoint. The host who seated us was friendly and enthusiastic. Our server was everything you want in a server: Friendly, Confident in making suggestions, Attentive without being pushy or annoying, and just an honestly great man who was so fun to chat with. We both just had mains: Husband had the seafood gumbo. Wow! So packed with flavor, and yes, the spice hit you on the back end, but SO yummy. Packed with seafood and sausage, rice that wasn't gummy, and I am sorry Tom Colicchio, the okra was delicious! The "slime" that we all fear had more of a velvety texture that was not off-putting at all, and the flavor was really unique and enjoyable. i had the Shrimp Luciano. Five jumbo shrimp without a hint of vein or shell, sautéed in an egg batter that crisped at the edges. The sauce...omg....so flavorful. I find so often that chefs add too much of spice and herb but not here. It was well balanced and so yummy. If I wasn't in public, I would have licked the plate clean! Oh, and it came with green beans, one of my least favorite vegetables because again, I find so many just over cook and over season. This were lightly sautéed so they had a fresh from the garden taste and a perfect snap to them. Garlic mashed potatoes...made with red bliss...had a sweet element, not sugary, but there was a flavor were just couldn't identify....maybe a hit a nutmeg? Regardless, they were heavenly. Then we made the decision to share a slice of the crème brûlée cheesecake. We didn't have room, but our "neighbors" at the next table said we had to try it...so we did. WOW! This was not your typical heavy overly sweet cheesecake. It was light, had specks of vanilla, a very thin lovely crust and the taste....sooooooo good. The wine by the glass choices were great: $12 for a wonderful glass of Albariño?? It was so crips and light and perfect with my meal. Husband had an IPA...we think it was called Maine Lunch and it was also delightful. I will note: the tables are NOT on the dock. They are a ways back but the water view surrounds you. I saw some tables set up right by the dock edge near the water and apparently they have a bar and music there once it gets warm. If it wasn't a 2 hour in traffic drive, this would be our new regular haunt. For now, we will have to make excuses to go up this way!

They have a program to text when your table was ready, so we went for a walk in the neighborhood while we waited. A surprisingly short time later, we received the text that our table was ready! The menu(s) had a wonderful selection of food and drinks, along with some specials. They do use a QR code for their menus, but noticed they also had paper menus upon request. Our server was friendly and attentive. The other members of staff would also check in as they passed by. My boyfriend enjoyed the PB & J Latte along with the creole shrimp Benedict. He said it was seasoned well, right level of spice, stated the eggs were poached perfectly, and really enjoyed how moist the cornbread was. I indulged with the "Tipsy Palmer" which is an Arnold Palmer with Bourbon in it. To be honest, there wasn't much of a bourbon taste to it, if any at all, but for a summer brunch drink, it was refreshing. For my entree, I chose the chicken Caesar sliders. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed as the brioche buns seemed a little on the stale/stiff side. The homemade caesar dressing was delicious, but they only coated the lettuce in it which resulted in a bit of a dry slider. I believe the sliders would benefit from a bit of the dressing at least on the bottom of the bun. I asked for (and received) a side of the dressing to bring home to dress up my remaining sliders. Lastly, and I know this is extremely minor, but the silverware was placed incorrectly (knife and fork reversed with the knife edge in the wrong direction). Again, I am WELL AWARE this is minor, but for me, sometimes the minor details are the things that stand out. Overall, a wonderful experience and will try them again at a later date.
