We've been here a few times now and we're never disappointed. This weekends lunch was especially great. The waitstaff was so helpful and friendly, and the electronic menus are actually kind of fun I did notice the prices were a bit higher than my last visit, but the portions were generous--we happily brought home plenty of leftovers. Dined here again for a friend's birthday, but for dinner this time. Was not as pleased this time around though. The reservation was at 6:30, though we were promptly seated upon our early arrival around 6:15. 4/6 people were early, but we were still waiting on the remaining 2. At 6:40 both the waiter and what I presume to be the manager come to the table to tell us they have an 8:30 reservation at the table we were at. 10 minutes into our expected reservation seemed a little soon to already be getting rushed, especially with nearly 2 hours until the next table. We put in our orders at this time as we waited for the others to arrive. Food took a bit to come, but it was busy so not a problem. We did have to put in a reminder about drinks as well after 15+ minutes after ordering another round. The waiter then tried taking the menus before the other arrived and when we mentioned they were almost there he asked if they planned on eating...well yeah. We were again reminded of their 8:30 reservation at our table. Once the others arrived they were barely seated before being pressed for their orders. They did turn their meals around very quickly at least. The waiter took a bit to come back for dessert orders despite their constant reminder of having another upcoming reservation, but we managed to get our orders in with only a minor disgruntled look from the waiter. A few minutes before 8:30 we were promptly shooed from our table after having our meals packed up and paying the bill, with the final notice of their other upcoming reservation. We took our conversation outside where we chatted for a bit before the manager came out and offered us room by the bar. Nice gesture, but maybe try that while kicking us out of our table, not 20 minutes after. On the bright side the food was still good. Though I still needed more spice in my spicy rigatoni. read more

Three of went to lunch here the service was great and our waiter was very friendly and cheerful. We decided to have 3 appetizers and share and then order more if needed. Our waiter said he thought it would be plenty. We started with the Buona Serra Pizza, Mozzarella, vodka sauce, pesto and marinara topped with dollops of ricotta. It was delicious, the combination sauces had a party on your taste buds. Then we had the Bacon wrapped Shrimp, 5 Jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon and topped with a roasted garlic, amaretto sauce, we asked for 6 shrimp and it was not a problem. The shrimp were definitely jumbo and the sauce was very tasty. Two of us thought the shrimp were a little tough but one of our party thought they were perfect. We then ordered Nonna's meatballs, 4 Homemade meatballs smothered in ricotta and topped in Nonna's homemade tomato sauce with a sprinkle of parmigiano-reggiano cheese. They were delicious perfect texture and flavor. The amount of food was plenty we even took 2 meatballs home. No one felt like a cocktail so we all had tea and were brought a separate pot of tea each. A very enjoyable place for lunch. We were to busy talking and eating and didn't take pictures but everything was plated beautifully just like the pictures on the menu. What a good dining experience from start to finish. We were happy to hear they were open for lunch on Monday. I called to inquiry if we could order from the dinner menu and was told yes. They offer a lunch menu but but we were interested in entrees. The restaurant has a pretty design with a big bar and lots of tables with comfortable backed chairs. The tables are spaced apart well and there is a lot of light inside. They have huge windows that let in a lot of light. The staff was friendly and our waiter Joseph was pleasant following up with us throughout the meal. We started with cocktails. A Bloody Mary for my husband and a S'mores martini for me. Both were good and served in nice large appropriate styled stemware. Love a martini in a traditional Martini glass which they use. Shared the Burrata appetizers with sliced tomatoes, a couple small pieces of prosciutto, roasted mixed color peppers over one piece of crostini and a balsamic glaze. It was good but didn't deliver as well as the drinks and both of our entrees. Let me tell you the breaded cutlets for the Chicken Parm ala Vodka were fried to perfection. Tasty, moist with two huge cutlets including a side of pasta. It was so good that going forward all Chicken Parm dishes will be held up to this standard. I was able to choose penne as my pasta side although spaghetti, rigatoni was also available. The side of pasta was a meal in itself. I took home half my meal and all the pasta which made for another delightful dinner the following day. My husband opted for the chicken marsala served with a mushroom risotto. Again, two huge cutlets with a very good marsala sauce. He said it was wonderful. They had more than several heaters outside on the sidewalk but no tables. It is February! They have a parking lot which they share with other store fronts adjacent to the restaurant as well as metered parking directly across the street and also on the main road. While I feel the ambience was pleasant and the staff very attentive, the food was fair at best. We had the fried calamari, it was chewy. Also, this is not like any other restaurant where you get a good portion. The portion was measly. 3 of us ordered the stuffed sole, it was a good size piece of sole over broccoli rabe and some mashed potatoes. It was good but there was no wow factor. Another fabulous dinner here! Had to have those bacon wrapped shrimp in that divine sauce. Excellent! Memorable! We tried the eggplant stack as a new appetizer, and for entrées we got the veal Parm on the bone, and the chicken marsala. The eggplant was wonderful, and I usually am not a big fan of eggplant. It was soft and delicious in a great marinara sauce. The veal Parm was unbelievable! It was really tender and absolutely delicious. A showstopper! The chicken marsala was really well done with lots of mushrooms in a glossy wine sauce with great flavor. Our waitress was friendly, drinks were fabulous, and it was the perfect dinner. read more

At first, I was considering giving this place two stars because the food was actually decent but leaving the restaurant took away a star. I went here with my boyfriend and my friend just to have a little dinner to hang out and talk. They put us in the middle of the restaurant and it got packed very fast. I assume the reason why this place is called. The chatterbox is that it's so loud inside you can't even hear who is talking or you can hear is chatter. I had to yell in order to talk to my friend right across the table because I couldn't hear her and she couldn't hear me. My boyfriend was sitting right next to me and he even had a hard time hearing us because it was so loud. They blasted the music even louder towards the end of the night, which made it even worse for hearing us during a conversation. I actually had to yell and hurt my throat in order to talk to my friend. The food was actually decent, but we did have an issue with ordering a Italian cheesecake. It's did not taste like a traditional Italian cheesecake and it was very stale and dry. We had to send it back. Our waiter also really was not very attentive and when we had asked him for his opinion on what food items to get he just said a random item and acted like he didn't really care. When I was leaving the restaurant because we were in the center of the area there were so many people behind us their chairs all pulled out. I could barely fit in order to get through to the exit. I don't know how the servers do it, but it's very cramped. So I honestly do not recommend this place if you want an intimate get together or even to just go out to eat cause it's very cramped. Yep, and the ambiance is usually jumping but this is based on the food alone. Came with one of my buddies not expecting too much from the grub. Lets go: The Carbonara is close to heaven and almost a perfect blend of fresh ingredients not drenched in cheap sauce. Chef nails this as it's probably as good as any Carbonara I've had. Never been to Italy so I'll reserve the word perfect until then. Blanca pizza is a carbs rich treat worth every minute on the treadmill. The di parma is the star. I dont remember the last time I ordered lasagna but tasted my buddies and it was good. I sat at the bar, service was great. Last night I ordered a $40 sole dish of which I ate nothing. There were 2 ginormous pieces of sole that were breaded and fried oozing oil in my dish. The waiter asked me what was wrong because he saw I wasn't eating. I explained that this is different than what the menu said and was extremely oily. His responses was that's a shame. Let me start off by saying, I am not one to write a review unless I had either a great experience or a truly terrible one. Went to Chatterbox as a group of 13 to celebrate my grandfather's 75th birthday on a 6:30 reservation. The entire experience was rushed. First, they bring out the appetizers... no sooner than everyone had their first helping, the waitstaff started frantically taking the appetizer plates away with food still left on them. The wait staff was hovering and waiting for my wife to finish the charcuterie she was actively eating off her plate. They stood there until she hurriedly ate them. We did attempt to stop them but the place was so loud that we went unheard. Here come the entrees: As the waiter was handing out dinners, he spilled a ton of salmony, oil filled juice onto the lap of a family member, completely destroying his jeans. There wasn't much of an apology and definitely not a comp on the bill. They got one person's order wrong so she had to wait 15 minutes for her pasta to arrive. Once again, no sooner than the rest of us ate our entrees the waitstaff came to collect in quite a hurry. The person who received her dish late couldn't even finish it - they brought her a to go tin. To top it off, the food was sub par. I've been here before and didn't have a complaint about the food. Even if the food was great, you couldn't enjoy it because of the rush. Lastly, they did their birthday schtick while my 75 year old grandfather wasn't even at the table. He was mid walking to the bathroom. He had to scurry all the way back to do the cake thing. On that note, they served cake first and took the coffee order after the cake was already eaten. Who does cake without coffee?! Furthermore, the waitstaff was aggressively asking us to hand them our silverware just after the cake was eaten. Bottom line is, for the price you pay to dine here, you should be able to enjoy your food rather than eating in a whirlwind. It seems as though they just wanted us out of there to start their night scene. The waitstaff should pay more attention to the customers rather than rushing to clear the table. If this is how Chatterbox handles large parties then I would recommend going elsewhere. I gave Chatterbox 3 stars because the atmosphere is nice, music is good and the food was better on other occasions. If Dorsia from American Psycho were a real place, this would be it. A restaurant so pretentious, trying so hard to be more than it is, but in reality, it's just a step above Olive Garden with equally unimpressive service. I made a reservation, and when we arrived, the man at the door--who never introduced himself--greeted us. He could have been a waiter, a bartender, a manager, or even the owner. Honestly, I couldn't tell because he didn't say who he was. He just seemed very self-important. After observing his demeanor, I'm fairly certain he was either a busboy or the owner's nephew, minding the store for the night. Anyway, he told us there was no reservation under our name, but when we showed him our OpenTable confirmation, he acted like he had never seen a smartphone before, as if the concept of electronic reservations was completely foreign to him. Why take reservations on OpenTable if you're not going to honor them? The restaurant was almost empty, yet he insisted on seating us at a high-top table even though we clearly wanted a regular one. The weird part is, we sat down at 6:15, and by 7:15, we were being rushed out the door. If you were planning to push us out in an hour, why not seat us at one of the many empty tables in the dining room that stayed vacant throughout our rushed meal? As for the food, it was a solid 2 out of 10, if you like pre-made, processed, microwave food--on par with Olive Garden. If you're looking for authentic, quality Italian cuisine, this is not the place. My Nona made better Italian food, and she's been gone for 30 years. The only redeeming part of the experience was the drink. I ordered an Old Fashioned for $17, and while it was good, you shouldn't be paying Manhattan prices in Pleasantville. So, if you want to go and pretend you're experiencing a special, high-quality dining experience, this is your spot. It's a place pretending to serve great food in a great atmosphere, but that's all you're doing--pretending. The only thing they truly care about is getting you in and out as quickly as possible to free up the table for the next group of customers, who may or may not even show up. At least the busboy can show his uncle how much money he made that night. To be fair, every business wants to turn a profit, but not at the expense of making customers feel rushed and unimportant. People go out to eat for a unique experience, something they can't get at home. Your job as a restaurant is to make the customer feel welcomed and appreciated. Unfortunately, I felt neither, and the food was subpar. Enjoy the generous tip I gave you and use it to buy a clue! Maybe your regulars don't know or care about quality because this is supposed to be an "it" spot, but there are plenty of people who can tell the difference between real fine dining and just pretending. read more

Had been wanting to try this new place and had been following on Instagram. Went on a Sunday around 3pm. Pretty good crowd at the bar. Only down side to that is that because of the layout, people standing around the bar inhibit you to come and go and it gets tight. Not really much of an issue and you can't fault a place for that. For table apps, we got the bacon wrapped shrimp, baked clams, nonnas meatballs, and fried calamari. The meatballs and the shrimp were excellent. The calamari was rubbery and the baked clams were a little fishy with a scampi sauce that someone dumped way too much lemon in. The mains were very good. Good sized portions for sure. My only complaint was that with the high price tag, you would expect that it would come with a side. Maybe a salad? Nothing. All forgivable due to the fact that the food is good. The reason for the 3 stars is the service. The waitress did the best she could, but it takes a very long time to get anything or even place an order. I saw the owner walking around from table to table greeting guests, but he did not stop at our table for some reason. He even stopped by the surrounding tables multiple times but never to ours. It's not a good customer service thing. He could have been having a bad day. He seemed a little mopey. Will I go back? If there was a party or event that I was invited to, yes. Phenomenal. I came in with a friend for lunch on a Friday afternoon and cannot rave enough about our experience. The space was beautiful with tons of indoor and patio seating. The service was great, very attentive. I was hopeful that the food would be good but I had no expectations that it would be THAT good. I got the pleasantville parm wedge (chicken parm with vodka sauce) and fries - it was incredible. The portion was generous (I wrapped up half of the wedge to bring home). Food was good waiter was not. I read a lot of reviews and seems they are big on reminding you that you don't have the table long. Anyway end of dinner was interesting, we waited for coffee with dessert, it wasn't coming. When we reminded waiter he apologized for forgetting the coffee. We had not asked for the check but he had already dropped it on the table. He then took it back and delivered the coffee. Sure enough when the bill came the coffee was included along with a side dish we had not ordered or received. I pointed it out to the waiter and he apologized for the side dish and said his thumb slipped when he rang up. I then pointed out that he forgot the coffee therefore it should have been comped. He disagreed but then adjusted the bill to take off the coffee and the side dish. I was born in the night time but not last night. Nice try To those who go there, check your bill!! read more

Okay... delicious!!! I am very familiar with Pleasantville and I believe this place is relatively new. Simply said: Delicious food. We ordered a variety of things. I can't exactly recall everything but I ordered a mixed antipasto with eggplant, artichoke, stuffed mushroom and shrimp. So so so good! Everything was delicious!!! The bread that came out first was fresh and warm. Yum! Portions are reasonable for the price. My friend took home the rest of her panini for dinner. I was very happy with the serving sizes. Also, in the evening, they open the doors and turn on the heaters. Such a beautiful vibe and ambiance. Great location for any occasion. The service was not noteworthy so I cannot speak much on that. Last weekend was our first visit to Chatterbox in Pleasantville,  what an incredible experience.  Joe JR. welcomed us even during his soft opening.  Chatterbox officially opens on March 24th!  We were treated like kings and queens.  The food is superb!  We tried their Meatballs a la Nonna and they are truly like your grandmothers...we also tried Mussels Marinara and Fried Calamari which were both fantastic...they are known for their Arthur Avenue Pizza so, of course, we had to have it along with Chicken Parm...their herbs and flavors and their sauces taste like I was back in Italy (Naples, Florence, Rome, Avellino...) doesn't matter tastes just like home!  Do not leave until you have Espresso with the most delicious fried Oreo cookies over vanilla ice cream topped with cannoli cream!   Joe JR. The service was incredible. We were greeted and served right away. We were also checked in on a bunch which is 100 times better then not being able to get anyone :) The ambiance is very chill but also romantic. I loved the decor and the space. I think the bar is really nice too. Started with burrata and it was EXTREMELY fresh. I was really in heaven eating it! Highly recommend. I do feel like the entrees fell a bit short but other than that, everything else was a 5 star in my book. For my entree, I ordered the raviolis. The raviolis were a bit over cooked for my liking.. I'm also Italian so I may be a bit more critical of it but I like a softer pasta. The sauce was good but nothing to brag about IMO. Again, probably more critical only because I've had my fair share of Italian sauces. I tried my husbands pasta and didn't like the sauce. I did see some chicken parms come out and they looked phenomenal so I will deff try a meat next time especially because I am a bit more picky with pastas. The dessert was amaaaaaazing. Tried the zeppolis- filled with Nutella & cannoli cream.. yes ... amazing. And also tried the fried Oreos. Super tasty and sweet way to end the night! read more

Chatterbox was a nice spot to pop into before heading over to the theater nearby. Cute interior and more spacious than you would think. I will say, we went in the winter and the insulation of the dining area was not good. We spent the whole meal freezing which is uncomfortable. For the number of staff in the place, the services was also so-so. We got sat and asked for a few minutes to look over the drink menu and didn't see our waitress again for 15 minutes. Then we had a wait boy filling out waters every 10 seconds, which can be nice if timed properly but he hovered the table--give us a few minutes to enjoy ourselves. Then he'd go missing when our glasses actually did sit empty for a long period of time. The appetizers are a must-get. The bacon wrapped shrimp is delicious and the sauce it comes in is even better. The muscles were tender and a little bit spicy and very good. The mashed potatoes are phenomenal. Skip the meatballs, nothing special about them and save room for everything else. Everyone felt pretty mediocre about their main dishes. Overall, nice for a drink and an app and convenient location but don't have super high expectations. read more

My fiancés parents LOVE this place, but to me it was nothing to write home about, very disappointing honestly. Cool concept, but just give me a regular menu (I'm in my early twenties, so not to sound old). Our view consisted of a pretty sky outside, and dead mums. Like why wouldn't you throw away the dead mums. I asked the girl if we could turn on the outside heaters since it was chilly and she said no, but I think there might have been a language barrier. Service: Slow. SO slow. Food came out at a good pace, but our server (despite being so sweet) kept forgetting about us. So many times. Wait: No wait, no reservation. We could only sit outside, though. Drinks: Good cocktails. Appetizers: Margarita pizza was horrible. It tasted worse than an Applebee's kids meal. The sauce was missing something. I didn't even finish my slice. Entrees: Tri color salad was boring and flavorless dressing. The chicken parm with burrata was carb overload but delish.
