I'll start by saying the service was good... but why do they serve cold bread?? This should be standard in any good restaurant. My husband had the shrimp cocktail which were perfectly cooked along with the halibut special. Both were tasty & cooked correctly. I ordered the veal chop, which was extremely chewy & disappointing. We eat at a lot of Italian restaurants and don't leave reviews, but were disappointed with Fratellis. Nice ambiance, tables had crisp clean white tablecloths. Seating in attached sunroom type room was much brighter than interior portion of restaurant. Service was attentive, though I am not sure if waitress was new or if it was a language barrier but we had to point to items on the menu so should could write up order. Food and value were disappointing. The fried calamari and basil aioli dipping sauce was excellent. Perfectly lightly coated but crispy outside and tender inside. One of the best I have had. Best part of meal. Meals on the other hand were not that good and not a good value. Higher prices than most other Italian restaurants in Westchester and all "A la carte" No salad, no pasta. My wife's linguine and clams (white) had a few nice tender whole clams, but the additional chopped clams were very chewy. Portion size was small, especially for the $28 price. My wife finished her entire plate and that's never case. My veal scallopini al Martini was not good. Portion size was small, two small to average pieces of veal, price $32. The outside coating was mushy and inside spongy. Came with 3 small pieces of broccoli. Pasta was a $10 up charge. Who ever heard of an Italian restaurant where pasta and salad is not included with a meat entree? We ordered Tartufos for dessert, and they were very good! Although the fried calamari was really excellent, we will not be back, as there are much better Italian restaurants, for both value and food, to choose from locally. read more

Went to Fratellis Trattoria for dinner and they did an outstanding job with both food and service. We started off with a couple of apps the fried oysters and calamari which were both delicious! Highly recommend them both if you like seafood. For my main course I had the Linguini Frutta Di Mare (seafood pasta) which you have the choice to have it a little spicy or not. I asked to have a little heat, which I enjoyed the little kick. The pasta was cooked perfectly and they give a generous amount of seafood in this dish. My guest had the Pollo Scarpariello, which he said was also very delicious. They even nailed my cocktail, I asked for a Boulevardier which is a negroni made with bourbon instead of gin. For dessert we had table side strawberry flambe served over vanilla ice cream. They don't do this every night, usually the weekends but it was an excellent treat to finish off the meal. Besides the food being outstanding the service was top notch. Our server's name was Durim but goes by Dino, he is a perfessional when it comes to service. Also the owner of the restaurant is very engaging with the guests. He came by several times to check up on the meal experience he even made sure to never let our glasses be empty. Overall if your looking for a nice place to eat I would highly recommend here. read more

We very much enjoy coming to Fratelli's, from the friendly service, to the clean restaurant and of course, delicious food. We came here again last night and once again did not leave hungry or disappointed. I noticed their menu has gotten a bit larger and they had more specials (win win). For 5 glasses of wine, 2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 desserts and cappuccino and after dinner drink, with tip everything came to $240 which is more than fair, especially for the quality and quantity you receive. They also have some weeknight specials. Tuesday was prosecco (I can't remember the cost) and $2 oysters, Wednesday was 30% off a bottle of wine and Thursday was lobster night. Great restaurant! My boyfriend and I dined here last night and that atmosphere was very cozy and quiet (we also came in late about an hour or so before closing). But overall good vibes! The calamari was super hot and fresh and the entrees were absolutely delicious!! I ordered the penne alla vodka which was super tasty and filling. I don't usually post bad reviews about restaurants, but I had a bad experience here. The waiter that my family and I had was awful. He seemed a little drunk and couldn't remember any of the orders that he took. We waited up to 40 minutes for our appetizers. We had to ask a different waiter for a refill on our drinks because our waiter was out of it. I don't think I will be returning to this restaurant. It's a shame . We were invited to try this Italian restaurant and while we live in southern Westchester we decided to take a ride and we were delighted we did. Fratelli's Trattoria opened about a year ago and is run by three brothers. We met John, who came over to our table numerous times to make sure we were happy with our dinner. The service was excellent, the portions ample and everything we ate was delicious! We sampled their appetizers and salads and I was very impressed with my salad that included poached pears, arugula and mozzarella cheese. I also ordered one of the "Specials of the Day"", Swordfish oreganata with bread crumbs in a Dijon-Apple sauce,served with roasted curly flowers! Wow, what an incredible dish! Really good , nice clean sunny dining room. They have 2 sections and we sat in sun room which was great. The sun comes right in the room and keeps you warm specially in Jan / feb weather. We ordered 2 soups both veg and came in big nice bowl and it was really fresh and hot. We both finished the soup and we already knew we would not finish the main courses. Dinner came right after and they are both amazingly prepared. The Fratelli's Burger was one of the best, juicy fresh and on the top the fresh avocados. Shrimp pasta was even better with green pastas and shrimp olive and the spice was amazing. We love it And the best is the server, she is gorgeous and lovely. Note: I subtracted two stars because the waiter gave me the wrong leftovers. For $21, I expected to enjoy the chicken I paid for. Bad job! And that will affect my decision to return. You have to get that right. I had been looking forward to coming here for quite a while. The location is in what is known as "The Village" section of Croton, and thus can be easily overlooked since it's not on one of the main arteries of traffic. The Village is a charming and small area that consists of barely a block in any direction, but it contains restaurants, take out Chinese, a frozen yogurt joint, liquor store, and an old-fashioned pharmacy. Let's start off with the negatives. The bread, while fresh, was room temperature, rather than warm. And things are a bit on the pricey side. Also, one of their two single-person bathrooms was out of service, which made for a line to get in on a not-so-busy evening. Presumably, that will be fixed soon enough. Now onto the positives. I always appreciate a dish of real whipped butter over packets, and here they did not disappoint. My dinner companion ordered the halibut special, and she found it to be quite good. I had the chicken parmesan, a staple dish that I often use to gauge the quality of a new Italian restaurant. The chicken was fresh and very tender, almost veal-like. The portion was good, and the smattering of veggies and roasted potatoes served as a fine complement, though I was disappointed that they offer neither a small salad nor a choice of pasta as an accompaniment. Unfortunately, my friend did not want dessert nor coffee and so I cannot comment on that part of the meal. However, we were allowed to remain and finish our drinks for well over an hour with no attempt to rush us out. For the record, the place was not packed, and we would have vacated our seating had our table been needed for incoming customers. But you'd be surprised how many places usher you out regardless. Fratelli's did not. However, messing up the leftovers was a big minus. I got screwed out of half my meal. read more

If you want a real, traditional, creative, generous, welcoming, and a delicious authentic Italian meal.. here in Croton on Hudson, Fratelli's. But, there's a Croton rival, Fino's.. to compare... To start, Fino is not real Italian, not Italian owned. It's Albanian owned. Fino: portions are mediocre at best. Small chicken portions tasteless Fratelli's: portions are more than you can possibly eat Fino: menu and specials are robust, but typically the same, not varied maybe once every couple weeks it changes Fratelli: different choices, fresh weekly options, fresh pasta options. Fino: good sized bar area, but fruitflies are ample and early cleaning occurs Fratelli: small bar but importantly clean and fresh flowers all around Fino: the son of the owner vapes behind the bar frequently Fino: bathrooms are disgusting, men are women's, smell like urine and clearly randomly cleaned professionally.. absolutely gross Fino: the whole place needs a facelift Bottom line, if you come to this 'italian' establishment you will be disappointed. The most unsettling reality is the fact that I believe they are knowingly serving pork in the meat to guests patrons like myself who ask specifically because of allergies! I was wondering why I felt sick.. To add insult to injury, the owners openly taunted me about it, being Jewish at the bar, not funny at all!! We love going to Fratellis. The food is very good and the service is better. They remember us every time we go. You can easily break the bank here with a blowout meal but can also dial it back for a weeknight family affair. Everything is good. Drinks included although cocktails are on the pricey side. My kids always order the Fehttuchini Alfredo with chicken. My only nit is that they serve 'half-portions' of pasta which would seem like a great deal. A half a portion is more than enough for one person -- however the price is not reflective. They need to change that. You're better off with a full portion for only a few $$ more and take the rest home. read more

I was at Fratelli's Trattoria with my son some time after they opened (see my 5 star review) and we both loved it. The second time I went I had a dreadful experience and wrote about it in detail. I live right near Fratelli's and took my review off really wishing them well, but it didn't sit right with me. I find that Yelp reviews often get heard and have had the experience of finding that criticism ends up improving the situation. It's a pet peeve of mine when a restaurant opens and the quality quickly drops off. Do they think we're stupid? Apparently so. And that's why I rewrote this review. It was late in the afternnon and I had a short break between clients and nothing in the house I could make fast so I ordered a Fettucini Alfredo with shrimp - comfort food, warm soft to be ready by the time I walked there. The pasta itself was perfect but that's where perfection ended. The shrimp were chopped up and tasted exactly like the rubberized shrimp you find in bags called "extra-large." (Only in a universe created by George Orwell are these shrimps jumbo or even large and anything beyond mildly edible - think of the Minister of Plenty cutting the chocolate rations.) Chopping up these minuscule rubberized shrimp is a further indignity to a creature with very little dignity to begin with. They charged 23 dollars for this travesty. The sauce was as thick as toothpaste - Alfredo is supposed to be just a bit thicker than cream. The first dinner we had was cooked by one of the brothers (fratelli means brothers) but I am sure that this concoction was not. Live up to the name and keep the brother who cooks in the kitchen. Either that or charge 12 dollars with no expectations of a fine Italian meal. read more

The pappardelle was fantastic, and I kept stealing bites from my husband's plate. I had the eggplant parm and it was also great - almost like my great grandma from Sicily made. This place was a let-down. Chaotic, disorganized and a little bit rude. The food seems passable, but where they fail is in customer service and an inability to create a calm, welcoming atmosphere for diners to actually enjoy their dining experience. Made a reservation for 8p and still had to wait, even thought there were not one but TWO tables ready and waiting - and EMPTY for whatever reason. The servers and host were running around like chickens with their heads cut off instead of seating us, even after I pointed this out. Absurd. My time is valuable and there are many other options - why do I need to stand around? Why bother to make a reservation? It's incompetence pure and simple. Another table complained to us that they couldn't enjoy their meal in peace because they kept being rushed to pay their bill and leave. Finally they did and said they felt unwelcome by the rude rustic -type wait staff. For shame! That's no way to treat people. With that that in mind we went here with another couple for dinner last night not knowing what to expect. The appetizer selections were merely ok. But the entrees that my table ordered were the stars of the show ... They were all good-sized portions and amazing! I'd recommend the Pollo Diavalo (chicken & sausage in a spicy sauce) - it was excellent! The Vitello Con Fico (veal with figs) that my wife ordered was also really good if you wanted something with a sweeter note. There were many things that caught my eye on their menu. My family & I got to Fratelli's 3-4 times a month with another family for Sunday dinner. We've basically made it a tradition. We love the hospitality, service and most importantly-the food! One of our favorite starters is the burrata! It absolutely melts in your mouth and goes perfect with prosciutto. For dinner, our go to is the chicken parmesan, linguine with clams, soft shell crabs, chicken francese, pasta carbonara, chicken marsala and the list can go on. Last Sunday, we were a party of 10 and we sat in their new sun room! Their portions are large so if you don't get to finish, just wrap it up and take it to go.
