Transient sleeping in the lobby. He keeps coming back. No consequences.

Avoid this place like the plague. The biggest problem is the recurrent fire alarms that will have you outside in the cold for an hour at 3am or during a Christmas dinner with your friends and family. I have lost count of how many alarms have gone off but there have been at least eight in the four months I have been here. The fire department notably declined to tell me it was safe to live here, when I inquired at the most recent alarm a few days ago. The management (Thrive) keeps telling us it's not their problem and there's nothing they can do about it,, because the alarms were caused by actual fires! Their twisted minds think that is supposed to be more comforting, and absolve them of any responsibility, that it wasn't an organic fault in the fire system. They have proposed no solutions to the problem and had the audacity today to tell me today that this should be expected because the large number of units in the complex increases the probability of accidents, as though bi-monthly apartment fires are a normal consequence of renting an apartment in a large, purportedly luxury building. I should also note that when my smoke detector was malfunctioning shortly after move in, they declined to make that a maintenance priority and told me maintenance is done on a first come, first serve scenario. The issue was a small one I was able to resolve on my own, but the response speaks volumes about how seriously they take fire safety. The fire panel has also been in trouble mode since the fire alarms went off Christmas Eve. I have seen no evidence that they plan on fixing it. Fire alarms are not, however, the only issue. Thrive is desperate to fill these units because they can't retain tenants, so they offer same day move in. A quick credit check is the only screening. As a result, there are some lunatics living here. My neighbor two doors down has numerous freakouts (for lack of a better word) and has caused several disturbances in the wee hours of the morning, in which he screams nonsensibly in the hallway at the top of his lungs, disturbing the entire floor, and slamming his apartment door repeatedly, shaking the entire floor in the process. This did extensive damage to the door, which had to be replaced. Thrive resisted taking any action, when I demanded to know what they were going to do about it, and told me there is not much they can do. Any other landlord would have evicted him, and their failure to do so, in light of his threatening behavior, was a violation of their legal duties. There are constantly homeless people roaming the halls or sleeping in the lobby. (See photo). They congregate at the building to steal electricity to charge their phones in the unsecured maintenance outlets. This is a pretty simple fix, it just requires a plastic lockbox which every other complex I have ever resided in has used, but Thrive never seriously entertained the idea. You're expected to just walk out in the middle of a crowd of homeless people and try to keep them from entering the building. The building designers were also nice enough to build benches right next to the doors to allow them a comfortable place to drink, do drugs and bother tenants. The less respectable tenants vandalize the property, leave dog sh$t all along the property grounds, leave rotting garbage in the trash room, instead of disposing it in the chute, and management lets it sit and fester until the entire floor stinks. I am suing to vacate my lease and recover damages in the form of moving expenses. I hope other tenants see this and do the same. Thrive is in violation of the warranty of habitability and the recurrent fire alarms amount to constructive eviction. Don't move here!

PET HAIR BUT I DONT HAVE A PET AND JUST MOVED IN DAYS AGO

If I could give a zero, I would. When I first moved into the Enclave Oct 2017 I was very excited. All of my excitement dissipated when I noticed the last tenant had left me a surprise pictured in the photos I've left. What you see is tufts of pet hair. The photos of the carpet are photos of it ripped up from what I believed was a cat... When I brought it to my leasing agent... He asked me "DID YOU CLEAN IT UP?" I said no and got offered no free shampoo... I had to head to work to keep this apartment so I didn't argue but the maintenance man came in, clipped the carpet and cleaned a big tuft of hair but did not shampoo. These photos are AFTER maintenance entered the apartment and clipped a big chunk of the pulled up carpet. He was lost on what to do. This was my first apartment and i didn't know what to do because I was 20! I still don't know what to do but I will be speaking to them about this... BE CAREFUL OF THE CLEANLINESS OF THIS AREA

Absolute WORST building I've ever lived in! Every single package I've gotten here has been tampered with or stolen, and management KNOWS! Cops come frequently because pinnacle is not only refusing to do ANYTHING, they're encouraging it! Every single person in the office is under qualified and completely unprofessional, not a single one of them is even remotely capable of doing even the most basic job. Do NOT waste your money!

Friendly staff, clean and new building, BOILER water (so it won't be running out), super fast gated garage, close to TONS of stuff. Pretty damn awesome. :-D

Wow, 525 deserves a MUCH higher rating than what's currently reflected based on the two angry reviews below. So even though it's early in my residence here (I moved in in December 2014), I feel the need to chime in with the very positive experience I've had so far. First off, 525 at the Enclave is a brand-new luxury apartment building, so the units themselves are immaculate: spacious, beautifully designed, filled with high-end appliances (efficient dishwashers, large-capacity washer/dryers, matching stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, etc), super-wide kitchen islands, large double-paned windows, quality carpeting & hardwood floors. Yes, they're mostly of the "box-shaped" modern variety, but the high ceilings, tasteful accent wall colors, good lighting (both recessed & pendants) & nice finishes make it feel very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Location couldn't be better. We're right next-door to a huge 24-Hour Fitness, have a handy Total Wine store just downstairs, major bus-stops for the 41 Downtown Express under a block away, and the I-5, Northgate Mall, Target/Best Buy/Petco/Ross, QFC, Northgate Library, and post office all under 3 blocks away from here. Plus, the Northgate Transit Center & Thornton Place Regal IMAX are a 10-minute walk away. This part of Northgate is very walkable & has plenty of public transit--the perfect urban-convenience/vibrancy-meets-suburban-sanity neighborhood, IMO. As to the building itself--the amenities & office staff are OUTSTANDING. It pains me to see the complaint against Darkua in one of the reviews below, because in my experience (and I bother the office staff quite a bit, renting amenities, etc) all the managers have never failed to greet me with smiles and friendly, helpful attitudes. Their kindness and realness in addition to their professionalism makes them some of the best "concierge-style" apartment managers I've had the pleasure of knowing, and helps make this place feel even more like home. As for amenities, the gigantic club room/billiard room & swanky theater room have massive "wow factor" (I love hosting parties & movie nights now... ;-)). The screen in the theater room is superb--crystal-clear HD (makes my regular BDs look like they're running in 48 fps!) & excellent surround sound. The club room has a kitchen, a couch area facing the fireplace & giant (90"?) screen, and opens to the billiard area. Outside, we have a nicely landscaped courtyard with an outdoor fireplace & 2 high-end BBQ units for resident use. There's also a nice workout room, a biz center, conference room, a VIDEO GAME ROOM containing all the new consoles (PS4, etc)--SO AWESOME for a semi-gamer like me who doesn't own a PS4 but still wants to play the latest MGS, etc. There's also a rental suite for visiting parents, etc, for $125 a night. In short, I love, love, LOVE the amenities here! To be fair, there are a few negatives too--the main thing being the high cost of utilities. I was out of town for all of February this year & discovered that even when I was using 0 utilities, I was still charged the base $40 for trash, gas, etc, that is split amongst the building residents for that month. Utilities, overall, are a bit pricier than I'm used to (my W/S/G/Trash bill comes out to about $100 per month, for a single person in a 1-bedroom unit, and electricity is about $35-$40 per month for me (granted, I work full-time from home, so my computer is on 24-7)). Also, while there are a lot of nice, quiet young professionals and couples living here, it is a fact that we also have a surprisingly high number of college students for a luxury building. Whether it's their fault or not, I've noticed much more disrespectful behavior toward the building than I've encountered in this kind of apartment complex before (e.g. empty drink containers/trash in the immaculately cleaned common areas, oversized cardboard & bags of trash left IN the garbage room rather than down the chute, etc). And while my particular stack is blessed with no hookah or cigarette smokers, there does seem to be a good amount of late-night cooking & vigorous athletic activity (ping pong? Basketball dribbling??) my neighbors engage in from 11pm-3am. But that's apartment living, I guess, & the thicker-than-average ceilings/floors do muffle the sound a little. Overall, this is a beautiful, brand-new, amenity-packed, excellently located & generally very comfortable place to live. It comes at a cost and has a few rough edges (*cough*bratty residents*cough*), but I have never been more satisfied with an apartment. The value of what you get in terms of in-unit and community amenities just can't be beat, and the drive/express bus to downtown is super-easy. I can't recommend 525 enough!

What's the email address for the enclave apartments?

Hey guys, I was wondering about the area? As in safety, especially at night (if coming home late from work etc..)?

it doesn't look like it's safe since so many vehicle break-ins have happened in the garage and there was a front door that was busted for over a month. I'm just interested in trying to move to Seattle and I'm looking for rentals and I am disgusted…

When I moved out, they claimed several hours of sanding work required for repainting and were evasive about providing evidence that it actually took so long. Every lease renewal saw a giant jump in rates (9.9% one year), which we negotiated back down to sane levels. They use algorithmic pricing designed to worsen the housing crisis while maximizing their profits. They also recently decided to stop offering affordable housing units under the MFTE program. Building was frequently under repair, including elevators being out of service for months, which was incredibly difficult when my partner was recovering from knee surgery. The units, which are now finally undergoing renovation, were poorly lit with low quality fixtures like plastic track lights, vinyl flooring, and a prison shower head. The original office staff were quite unhelpful and antagonistic, prioritizing nagging residents about hallway door decorations (while simultaneously awarding prizes for holiday decorations??). This has improved with almost complete turnover in staffing. Maintenance staff have always been very responsive and helpful. Regarding Capitol Hill itself, the value of the neighborhood has really declined. If you want to pay $4,000/mo to live in walking distance of 15 boba tea shops and national fried chicken chains while ignoring the human misery all around you, go for it I guess.

Overall, it's been a good experience but there are so many things that make this place not worth the price tag. Pros: Location- Great spot and walkable to so much. Tenants- good people and high probability of making friends. Young professionals, dog lovers Thick walls: I rarely hear my neighbors -- very, very rare. Aesthetics: the apartments themselves look really nice Washer/dryer: in unit and actually good quality. I've had some awful laundry units in apartments but these are legit and work well. Cons: Break ins: I am not exaggerating when I say tenants are constantly getting their bikes stolen, it's a monthly occurrence at least. (Theres bike storage in the garage for tenants ) Storage in the apartment: it's crazy how much planning did not go into the actual apartment. For example: my pantry is a closet that has zero shelves....my bedroom closet didn't have a full hanger rack when I moved in. Little things that make zero sense. Some kitchens barely have a drawer for silverware. Things that you may not notice while doing a walk thru but notice once you move in. No AC or ventilation: this is common in Seattle, I get it but please pay attention to what direction your apartment faces. I face west and live in a loft. Heat rises. It is miserable hot. It can be 70 degrees outside but 78 inside because of the lack of airflow. Even with an AC unit (these help but you better keep all the shades down and keep it running ALLLL day/night - plus depending on your setup, you may have to move furniture around to use an AC unit) The complex has AC units available to rent ... it isn't even that hot yet and it's already hard to get my bedroom (upstairs) under 72 degrees by 9pm. The complex should offer free AC units with how hot these apartments get. When it's nice/window season, you may not want to open your window because of how loud the road is. Even on the 4th floor, if you leave your balcony door/windows open, you will wake up from traffic/buses/people on 24th and 65th. It's not quiet...at all. Amenities: these have gotten better but still not great compared to what you can get at other places. They have done some work on the rooftop but it's still just fine. No gym, TVs aren't great, etc. The building itself needs new carpet/fresh paint on the walls. Look at the stairwells. Yes, I'm being picky but for the price, it should look better. As a whole, these apartments are fine but overpriced for what they are. You are paying for location and a "good looking" apartment. For the price, they should come with AC units, have more amenities, and updates in the actual building. Management and maintenance are good, I haven't had any issues there. This review isn't meant to bash BPL but give future residents a heads up and an honest expectation of what it's like to live here. I wouldn't choose an East (am sun) or West (pm sun) facing loft apartment. Seriously, too hot. I bet south facing is your best bet (less busy road, no direct sun). Lofts are cute but I'd suggest a flat. Hope this helps!

When I looked it up on Yelp for the first time I was a bit suspicious it had such high ratings but now I know they're justified. BACKGROUND - I am a Seattle transplant. Just graduated and just moved here fresh out of college. I wanted to live somewhere affordable, convenient, nice and still close enough to where all the fun stuff was. I looked at Cap Hill and the prices were outrageous. So the I landed on NAMU from an ad on Craigslist. LOCATION - around 5-10 minute drive from downtown Seattle and downtown Capitol Hill. Close enough for a short bus ride or a cheap Uber pool. If you check on the walk score it's around high 80s and the crime rate for the area is really low. Generally, it's closer to the suburbs. It's quiet at night because of that but occasionally there will be a siren once a week or people yelling once in a blue moon. But generally, really quiet. CONVENIENCE- I live right next to Safeway and can walk there in under 30 seconds which has saved my life many times. There's also a cute plant shop downstairs if you like plants and a Dominos pizza is opening soon, there's a Vietnamese sandwich place near the Safeway as well. The Safeway is open late which is great. There's also a YMCA a block away if you want to workout nearby! APT AMENITIES - in terms of amenities it is solid given how much rent you are paying. There's a bike rack, and a nice rooftop. None of my packages have EVER been stolen from the lobby and I've see packages left there for days so everyone in the building respects that. You can pay extra for storage and the laundry machines are on the 2nd and 3rd floor, which TAKE CARD. Generally they are full on the weekends but I haven't had an issue waiting long times for laundry. There's no pool, or lounge, trash chute or gym. The only things I wish the room had: an oven, a dishwasher (I just do my dishes by hand), and a closet. But I've adjusted. If you need these things to survive, consider that before you move in or if you have a ton of stuff / furniture / clothes because it likely won't fit. NOISE - Honestly, I'm assuming the insulation is top notch because I've heard my neighbors maybe once. ROOMS - The apartment was made in 2015 or something. I moved in 2017 and was the second tenant ever! The rooms are small, around 250-300sqft but I have enough room for a full-size bed, a queen size futon, a wardrobe hanger, and a small dining table and a bookshelf and no issues. It's a perfect studio for a single person and more than enough room to be comfy. Note there isn't a closet though so you'll have to make do with a buy your own closet thing. I really appreciate the mini fridge as it is honestly big enough for one person and since I live by Safeway I never really needed too much space anyway. The bathrooms are clean and modern and there's a big window too which is really nice in the mornings. LANDLADY / MAINTENANCE - This is what prompted me to write this review. The landlady, Sonya, has been nothing but incredible and responsive. She texts back almost immediately and even helped me once when I locked myself out of my room at midnight, and helped me get a package when I accidentally locked it. She's very thoughtful and kind and honestly I never knew how awesome thanks would be to have a great landlady until I met her! She also schedules maintenance once you report a problem to her. The maintenance guy, Mike, lives in the complex and shows up right on time to help fix your issues and is polite and nice. There was an incident where our hot water heater stopped working for around a day and Sonya immediately notified all the residents on the situation and provided suggestions for other solutions. And she even decorated the front door and lobby with a Christmas tree for the holidays!! Tldr - This is a great place to live if you're moving to Seattle as a single person. The rooms are "small" but modern, clean, and more than enough space for a studio. The facilities are brand new, and the landlady is awesome. The rent is affordable and I've I'm very happy living here and feel safe.

The location is incredible - close to the Space Needle and bars, but just far enough to still enjoy quiet nights. Plus, the prices are VERY competitive compared to other places nearby. Oliver from the front office is incredibly friendly and helpful. I wasn't going to be able to view the available units in person, and he sent me a very well taken, detailed video of the interior. He answered all my questions and really made sure that my moves, both in and out, were extremely smooth. Maintenance was also prompt and always made sure that everything was fixed within 1-2 business days! Now for the apartment itself - it was much larger than any other options nearby, and it was really nice! The unit looked a bit old but clean and functional in the video, but I was wrong... it wasn't old at all! The apartment was MUCH newer, brighter, and more updated than I anticipated - the best kind of surprise. I rarely ever heard my neighbors, always had power, and I especially loved that I had a massive pantry in the kitchen. My balcony faced 4th Ave, which leads directly to the Space Needle. Although I couldn't see the Needle from my windows, I never had to leave my apartment for any parades - they always started at the Seattle Center and went directly on the street below. The amenities it had were really nice - from the clubhouse to the gym. Both were clean, easy to access, and very updated. I especially loved that you didn't need to pay to book the clubhouse for personal events, as it made hosting larger groups for meals a lot easier! I was truly heartbroken to leave Sidney when work relocated me to Texas. It's a wonderful complex, and I highly, HIGHLY recommend!! If I ever move back, you know where I'll be living.

This was one of the best apartment living experiences I've ever had, which, as you can see based on…read morethe majority of the reviews here, is generally the case for most. My apartment faced North and had a great view of the Space Needle. It was a quiet and quaint little studio that, upon move-in, was in great condition. I rarely ever had any maintenance issues, but if I did, they were addressed accordingly and in a timely manner. The Sidney is close to so many restaurants and shops and in fact, on the first floor, is Uptown Espresso. A cute little coffee shop that I would just walk down to every morning. Super convenient! The staff is what stands out about this building the most. The Property Manager is one of the best I've ever encountered. Always helpful and happy to assist. This type of management style has obviously transferred down from the manager, as the maintenance and leasing personnel are just as friendly and helpful. Overall, a wonderful living experience!
