I really thought these rings were going to be super crunchy. I was let down. They tasted good but I wanted that crunch factor. Chicken strips were good and the sauce was tasty. The country fried steak had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The rice was not that great either, lacked a lot of flavor. Super bland! I had the worst experience. I had an allergic reaction to the seafood. They don't clean the grill when they cook shrimp, I was really bad and I ask the manager to please ask or advice for food allergies and she blamed me saying I should say about my allergies, fair enough but I don't go to a restaurant thinking about that. I go there trusting the cooks are doing a good job and cleaning their grills every time they cook something on it . This is not the case with this place. Horrible service too. They have always been very good. The sides are tasty as well. The servers are attentive and timely. But not over bearing. Good beer selection that is always cold. Visited this place and have been here before many times due to visiting family in the area. So 5D's is the probably going to be the best selection of food choices in Carrizo Springs. They offer steaks, to shrimp to chicken and probably their best plates are the whiskey pecan chicken and their tenders (huge). I have eaten the steak here and as other state, it's a 1/4 inch steak which really doesn't look like steak but more like a milanesa but still has good flavor. I have had their tenders and those are big and pretty good especially the sweet spicy ones. The best I have eaten here is their whiskey pecan chicken. It has a good flavor and was pretty good. Don't come here expecting the food of a large city with excellent chefs. Come here expecting what is probably the best selection of food in a small town and you will certainly enjoy it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but the best part is....the food is great. I couldn't figure out why the bad reviews until I looked and found that there were only 3 and two of them only give bad reviews. This is my favorite restaurant in town... we don't have a plethora of choices but 5D Steakhouse & Lounge is the best combination of cleanliness, good food, and reasonable cost that I've encountered thus far. My favorite dish is the honey chipotle chicken fingers (choice of two sides) and sweet tea. :-) The staff is friendly and accommodating in my experience. It was cooked to order and very tasty, the salad was antiseptic and seemed dead as was the watered down ranch dressing. Look folks ranch dressing is easy to make, don't skimp on it.
