As soon as we entered the vicinity, my jaw dropped literally because it looked super cute and festive. The place is literally a mini San Miguel, Mexico. Anyhow, we were greeted warmly by the host and eventhough it looked busy we were escorted almost immediately to our table. We were greeted kindly by our server and was handed the menu. They have plenty of interesting drinks and cocktails, appetizers, entree and many Many more on their menu. We finally ordered our drinks and foods and was excited for them. I've eaten here a couple of times when I visit Eagle Pass. Both times have been the same! Great service, very good food and leaves you wanting to come back next time! I had the fajitas (beef and chicken) this time. They were very good! I really like the 3 dips they bring with chips before the meal. As my waiter told me, "the one on the right will make your tongue sweat!" All three are good and he's right, one is really hot to me. The restaurant is beautiful! They took an hour and a half to bring out our food. And the food was cold like if it had been sitting for a while.

My food was very COLD!!! My wife's food was very warm/hot. I took one bite of enchilada it was very cold, took a bite of another enchilada and it was cold as well. I told the waiter, he took my plate and came back with my plate, they obviously microwaved it. It was finally hot, the taste was okay but nothing to brag about. I didn't mind the 45 minute wait on the food even though the place was not packed and they had plenty of waiters. Mojito taste refreshing but no alcohol. The margarita in the rocks was much better, good flavor and strong enough. Food: had the tacos camaron pastor which were soo yummy and comes with a side of fries. Also had the championes huerfanos (shrimp sautéed with mushrooms in white wine sauce) to go. It comes with corn or flour tortillas or you can mix them. The flavor on that was soo good! The shrimps were small though, size of salad shrimps. So this place is a hit or miss.... Went here three times and every time. something different happened. First time the food was amazing and really good compared to the stuff locally, services was good and all I was excited to go back. Third time food was salty, service was ok but not great, they let some drug recovery guy that sold cakes to come in and sell his stuff from table to table it was awkward as hell. It was not amazing but it was not terrible. I was in a group of 6 and everyone got something different. The only thing that seemed worth it at our table was the Steak Fajitas that I got. The chips and salsa could have been better and didn't seem fresh. The Tres Leches slice was dry and tasted old. But I do want to reiterate that the Steak Fajitas were good. We placed a telephone order for a tampiqueña Ribeye VERY WELL DONE and they served it RAW and my husband didn't realize it until he reached the middle portion of the steak. All the center and bottom half was raw. We took it back and a "manager" named LAURA refused to replace or exchange it because my husband picked at the well done portion of the steak. She, however, offered to take that semi eaten ribeye and throw it back on the same grill as other customer's steaks and food. That's not sanitary nor ethical! She humiliated and berated him in front of many customers with her snotty remarks about how everyone likes their steak differently and offended my husband for liking his steak well done even though she stated she wouldn't eat it raw either. His steak was raw! She refused to make it right and refused to provide him with the contact information for her supervisor or the owner. When he asked her why she stated because they don't care, they don't want any of the customers contacting them. This restaurant is a place where we go to often and spend countless hours and amounts of money for birthday celebrations, special occasions, and our weekly family dining. This place has disappointed us beyond recovery. And it's okay because Laura made it very clear that they don't care. Luis took the order correctly, as evident by the receipt, but a cook decided to rush the steak and serve it raw. Ashley willingly and shamelessly delivered Laura's messages to us by telephone and when my husband went in person, Laura in the flesh humiliated him and belittled his taste for a well done steak. Ambiance was great if you like it dark. I personally didn't mind it. We sat in the bar area and they have beautiful drinks. The steak was exceptional. My grilled shrimp were cold but still delicious. I've always enjoyed eating at PSM. Last night my husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. I had the Filete Monasterio. I enjoyed it so much that it has motivated me to write this review. The filet melts in your mouth and is cooked to perfection (I asked for medium.) You have a choice of 2 sides. I would recommend not getting anything potato because the filet, shrimp and ajillo sauce goes over a bed of mashed potatoes. At first sight, I was disappointed because I didn't know it came like that but after tasting it...The combined burst of flavors is the perfect marriage. It is a must try if you haven't. I have been here three times when I came here on business. The first and second times were good, good service and a good meal. I had Steak Tampequna all three times. On the last time I had dinner there with a business associate. When we finished and left about 20 min. later my associate got nauseous and got projectile sick. I thought they had some stomach flu...But I found out about 24 hrs. later...it wasn't stomach flu but the worst food poisoning I've ever had, because I got the same symptoms. About a month ago I met an Eagle Pass native who told me that he and his family don't go there anymore. They got food poisoning there as well and don't go there anymore. The restaurant was recommended by a family member. Overall, it was fair and not worth a return visit. We were in Eagle Pass to gamble at Kickapoo and staying overnight. Therefore, we decided to try a new restaurant. Parrilla De San Miguel came highly recommended. I'm guessing they had a much better experience. The service was adequate. The menu had a large selection of items to choose from. They served the tortilla chips wrapped in plastic and placed in a bowl, that was odd. We both ordered the Tampiquena plate. It came with two nice size pieces of thinly sliced meat and deliciously seasoned, two tasteless green enchiladas, rice, refried beans and a tiny scoop of guacamole. We mistakenly ordered some tortillas (2 flour & 2 corn) thinking they came with the meal. When served the tortillas, the waiter said I'll bring each of you a container of tortillas, we said ok. Later we found out they charge for tortillas and since he gave us two containers, 4 tortillas each, they charged us twice. We don't mind paying for extras, and the charge was nominal, but let us know. Especially when the tortillas appeared to be store bought and not very good. That was a little disappointing. We are from San Antonio and have been to fancy Mexican restaurants and little hole in the wall Mexican restaurants and never changed for tortillas. The margaritas were fair, had better. We ordered 3 frozen margaritas total. They were not frozen, closer to crushed ice margaritas. it appeared they used table salt, not kosher salt to rim the glasses. Consequently, the salt made the margaritas taste salty. I requested NO salt on the third, better. As for the ambiance, what we could see of it, looked nice. It was very dark in the restaurant. Supposedly, this was a somewhat fine dining Mexican restaurant, not impressed. The service, food and drinks were just ok. I will admit, the prices were reasonable. read more

We went to celebrate early Mother's Day with my mom who came from Mexico, we drove from San Antonio to meet my family on Eagle Pass, usually is the place we meet to have lunch, but yesterday the place was empty around 3 tables. The place was curiously dime this time, the hostess was nice and take us to the table the waiter came like 5 minutes later and took the drinks order he told us for every two lemonades we could have a jar, and that's what we did we ordered 9 lemonades and around 15 minutes later they came, no jars we had to remind the server about that and he came with one jar later on it was like half hour and he haven't take the order until he leave the jar, with very bad mood he took the order and left, another server took all the plates and never came back with more we took silverware and plates from other tables after that around one hour later the food came all at the same time, the food was good (80% sausage and 20% meat) again we asked for more tortillas but we ended up eating with forks, then my mom and dad wanted something sweet by this time I was really mad for the service, again we asked for dessert and their ice cream never came only the pies. Spoke with the manager and she only apologized. Worst experience I think we won't come back. After all that bad service I was charged twice for the tip! read more
