After trying several different dry cleaners who were all unable to help, I brought a beloved stuffed animal here for repair. It was a handmade gift that was in need of a little TLC. Not much, just a bit of stitching in one particularly challenging spot where the stuffing was starting to come out. The shop owner expressed her own reservations about it, but she was willing to give it a shot. She warned me that she could do it, it "might not be pretty", so I set my expectations pretty low. I was absolutely astounded when I got it back! My plushie looked exactly as it did when it was first given to me. The stitch was absolutely flawless and I could tell that she took pride in that repair. It was an unconventional job for sure, and she could have turned it down like so many other dry cleaners did, but I'm so grateful that she took a chance and was able to help me restore my cherished plushie. read more

Came in on Saturday looking to get my son's suit dry cleaned by today, Monday, and they delivered! I'd gone to my reg cleaners (that well-known cleaners whose family owns a bunch of businesses in Alexandria), and wasn't provided any options to have it turned around any sooner than 5 days. Nothing against them, but when they're that busy with loads of clients that prevent quicker service, I think it's time to move on. I'm probably like most people in that I don't write reviews unless something is really spectacular or really awful. In this case, I highly recommend 5ive and 2wo. First and foremost I buy nice clothing and I'm ok with paying what I perceive to be a "little more" to ensure my higher end items come back spotless, odor free, and sans damage. Always a solid job and if any spots are missed they gladly take them back for a re-do. Second, and also very important, customer service is excellent. Such a friendly place and the lady (whose name I don't know) always remembers me even though I come in maybe a few times a year at most. Toto, their sweet dog, is often there and will run out to greet you before retreating to the back. After the positive and wonderful reviews on yelp, I decided to go here. In the past, I haven't had the best dry cleaners. First, they are AWESOME! Very friendly and courteous! I had 38 pieces to dry clean and I was super impressed on how they fold the sweaters as if you were buying it from a department store. They were neatly folded with tissue paper and wrapped in a plastic bag. It was super easy to carry too. I didn't realize that I had a tear in one of my sweaters, and I believe she is the owner, fixed it free of charge! I am extremely happy with them and will continue to go to them! read more

5ive & 2WO Cleaners is a local dry cleaning shop run near Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria. One reason to use them is that they use organic cleaners to keep the environment safe - and at the same time - keep you looking very sharp. I have had many suits and ties cleaned by them, and they do a very good job. Their onsite repairs aren't the best, but if you have something simple - they can probably handle it. Also the prices and the services are excellent. They can also provide turn around in a day if you need something urgently. I have found them to be far superior to other cleaners in the area. read more

I am constantly searching for a dry cleaner who will care for my clothes. I feel like I may have found that with 5ive & 2wo. They're in Del Ray and accept credit cards so they've already won me over with that. The owner is really friendly. I had a few pieces that needed repair and she was happy to discuss the details and answer all of my questions....and trust, I ask a lot of questions. Her little yorkie pup was just chilling in an empty laundry basket so that was an adorable plus! All of my dry cleaning and repairs were ready a few days later and it didn't come back with that weird dry cleaning chemical smell...success! The pricing is no bargain and it isn't same day service but she worked miracles to repair 2 pairs of pants and a suit jacket for me so I think she's awesome. read more

The owner is extremely nice, and this cleaner is comparable in prices with other cleaners. I dropped off my husband's jacket today (that I would actually want some better handling/care, rather than just normal schmormal dress shirts you can drop off at CD One cleaners), and it came out to around $7 (definitely typical). They also have this adorable Yorkie running around with the tiniest ball to play 'fetch.' The place is right off of Mount Vernon in Del Ray, and there's a small lot to park your car. This place was a HUGE help during our recent basement renovations, when our washer and dryer were disconnected. We were able to drop off our dirty laundry and have it back, washed, dried and folded, usually the same day. Everyone was kind and courteous, and they offered a natural detergent option that didn't trigger my allergies. They only take cash for this service, so stop by the ATM first! read more

I came to DC during a work trip, though I stayed at a hotel in Alexandria. I needed three full suits and five dress shirts cleaned and pressed before Sunday morning, and I could only drop them off on Friday evening. I searched on Yelp for the "best" cleaner in the area, and Five & 2WO seemed to have the most positive reviews, so I gave them a chance. Suffice it to say, I'm very pleased with their work (my suits and shirts look great!!) and their customer service. They have a very friendly and accommodating staff. To illustrate this point, I picked up my suits before closing time on Saturday evening. 30 minutes later, I received a call from the staff of 5ive & 2WO telling me that they had just found my wallet in their parking lot. There was no chance that I would make it back in time to retrieve my wallet, so I asked if they could drop it off at my hotel just up the street. Without hesitation, they said "yes" and later, I received a call from my hotel saying that my wallet had been left at the front desk. 5ive & 2WO went above and beyond my expectations, and I plan to use them exclusively once I become a full-time resident of the DC area :) read more

I second Peter's sentiment about Five &2wo, but I am not entirely sure about the organic part of their cleaning process. Organic dry cleaning can mean any method not perc-related. It could be DF2000 (petrol based hydrocarbon solvent), liquid CO2, or a silicone-based cleaning system - or any other chemical that is carbon-based (the chemical definition of "organic."). With that said though, these guys do a great job on our clothes each time, and our clothes don't come back with the smell you often find on dry-cleaned clothing. Our sofa covers that Baby puked all over - I dropped them off first at an "organic" at Logan Circle, with disastrous and unsuccessful results - came back from Five & 2wo well-cleaned. Their hemming and clothing repair services have also saved us a ton of time and money, and they have always been on time. And as a side note, the owner's cute little yorkie Millie hangs out at the shop on a regular basis. Baby always has a great time checking her out while I'm getting our clothes, and Millie is quite patient with Baby's curiosity. read more

True to previous reviews she is very helpful up front and was very informative about my boyfriends shirts. She explained why one would shrink (if she did what I originally asked her to do) and why the others would not. Something to do with the tape going down the buttons... I've been a loyal customer for several years until today. Can't tell you how disappointed I am because I trusted her so much in the past few years. They damaged the logo of one of my down jackets and claimed because the temperature was high and it melt. She did not even say sorry for a single time, refused to apologize or refund me, stating that it's not their fault. She doesn't care about customers, you guys wouldn't believe what she said to me. I was very upset and asked if she could refund me or give me a discount for next time - their price is not that cheap. She said no, it's not their fault, they basically followed the instructions, if I tumble-dried the jacket myself the logo would have melt too because the material is not good. If I really wanted to complain, I should complain to the company. I thought she would give me the number of the dry clean company, so I asked what's the company name. She then said with CONTEMPT: "No the company that made your clothes, it's all their fault, because they didn't use leather, if they the logo was made of leather it wouldn't have melt. There's nothing we can do." OK, thanks for the advice. It's like you stab someone, that person bleeds, and you were like, oh sorry, it's your fault, I didn't know you are not resistant to knife, if you are made of steel, then you wouldn't have been hurt by me, so it's your fault. I agree with Annette's review 100%, actually I should have looked at the bad reviews before coming here. But, Annette, it's not their fault, it's your fault that your cloth was made of silk. This is the best cleaners in Del Ray, by far, and I have tried four other dry cleaners. It's probably not the least expensive, but if you're worried about quality, this is your place. The co-owner is also the person most frequently running the counter. She is pleasant, friendly, and very skilled. If you regularly have your clothes dry cleaned, she will remember your name. I get my clothes cleaned weekly, so she knows preferences without asking. The cleaning is phenomenal. They get the stains out. If buttons are damaged, they fix them. My clothes have begun lasting several years longer, a change I attribute to this cleaner. So, if you value your clothes and appearance, this is the dry cleaner for you! read more

I've been looking for a new dry cleaning place and since so many people rated this place so highly, I decided to give it a try. I took in 2 slacks and a knit sweater, before walking in I was greeted by the yorkie. It's honestly a well trained dog, because it doesn't bark, jump on you, or stray. The lady literally leaves the door open and the dog goes out for a bit and goes back in. OK Ok! Enough about the dog.. haha.. The lady was very nice. I picked up my clothes in about a week - Total came out to $18 and some change. Not too bad! I like that they have a little cup of shirt-stays for you to take. Very convenient! This place is a bit of a drive for me, but if I lived closer I would definitely be taking my clothes here. read more

I have been coming here weekly for 6 years. Literally not once has something been damaged or lost. I can't even think of one time that a stain could not be removed. I have moved from the neighborhood but still drive to 5 and 2 because there is no one better--they have my absolute trust and that's worth everything... certainly some extra time spent in the car. They shredded an expensive silk blouse, lied about it and did not offer any compensation or even complementary cleaning in the interest of good customer service. While the name has remained the same, I do not believe they are an organic cleaner any longer. I went in a few years ago, and they had a big sign stating that they were organic, the guy behind the counter spent a great deal of time explaining that they were organic, giving me a reusable bag to bring my clothes in, etc. Unfortunately my clothes did not seem to really get very clean, so I did not go back for a few years. Recently, I have started using them again, and has been happy thus far, but there is no longer any mention of being "organic" in the shop, and they use the standard metal+paper hangers and plastic bags when they give your clothes back. The clothes also smell like regular, dry cleaned clothes when you get them back. They do seem detail oriented (for example, I brought a sweater in that had a large moth hole I hadn't noticed. Instead of cleaning it anyway and charging me, they pulled it out so that I could decide if I still wanted it cleaned). They also have a fast turn around. read more

I've always been happy with this place. They take care to treat clothes delicately and are good at getting stains out. Not super expensive, but not necessarily cheap, they usually are about $4 a piece for me (I bring in my work blouses and pants). The people are very nice and the little Yorkie dog is always happy to see visitors. read more

The owners are very friendly and helpful. The quality of service you receive here is unlike any other I have encountered in the area. I had a shirt that had set in ink stain and she was able to get it out! My clothes are always ready on the date and time indicated and in excellent condition. She usually asks if you want medium, heavy or no starch. I've found that medium is the best selection, as it doesn't leave the shirts extremely stiff. Their hours are very convenient and I also love that they are opened on the weekends. Same day and next day services are also available. I'm not sure whether they offer any type of discount, such as student or military or even a Yelp check-in offer. If not, they should consider these options as well. Nevertheless, the quality of care and customer service you receive here is unparalleled. I highly recommend. read more
