The staff was friendly but the cost of the 2 inch hemming of a bridesmaid dress was $85.

Had some pants that needed to be hemmed. Took a week to get back which was no problem. Paid $70 total for three. They did a great job but I didnt expect the cost. Then again, I should have expected that in the area. My pants were less than $25 total thanks to a great sale but I guess in the end I made up for regular price after hemming them. Kim's Tailoring was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I would like to start off by saying that some of the negative reviews I have seen were due to their change in location and also because there are other businesses with a similar name. This specific tailor is "Kim's Dress Design" and located at 1060 N Fayette Street in Alexandria, VA. Ms Julie Kim was so kind and caring from the moment I walked in. It was my first time there and she was very accommodating. It appeared they have a lot of repeat customers because she recognized many of the people walking-in. I had tuxedo pants that needed to be brought-in and hemmed and they did a great job. After checking prices at multiple tailors in the Alexandria area, Kim's dress design had the most reasonable pricing. I did not have to get any very detailed or custom work done, so I cannot comment on how good they are in that aspect, but for basic alterations and dry cleaning they did a phenomenal job. read more

Mrs. Kim is really a gifted seamstress - a rare find these days. I agree with the reviewer who said they drive out of their way to go the shop for cleaning and alterations. I trust her with all manner of alterations - from tailored clothes to very expensive designer dressy items. Not once has she given me anything but the best service and results. Zero stars. I dropped pants off for alteration. I went to pick them up. The lady accused me of never visiting! I lost my ticket. I told her I remembered that employee and know I did come. The best dry cleaner in the DC Area!!! Hands down. I've been coming here for over two decades. They have never lost a piece of clothing and their service is truly the best. A few months ago the owner gave me $200, money she found in my jacket pocket. Could not have imagined ever getting it back if I went to a different dry cleaner. She's really so nice, and so good at what she does. Oh, I moved 16 years ago and probably pass 20 dry cleaners just to get to Kim's. She's that good!! read more

I recently started working in Old Town and I tried out this cleaners on a whim, not expecting much. Over the years I really lost hope in cleaners because they were never able to get all of the odors and scents out of my clothes, but they are a game changer! Not only is the customer service great but THEY ACTUALLY CLEAN YOUR CLOTHES! All of my clothes from work pants, blazers, coats, silk tops, and sweaters have come back to me in pristine condition, like new and odor free!
