Turns out the leak from mom's older maxima that started from an oil filter changed months ago that was loose and started with a leak on the floor. They tightened the filter and replaced the drain plug gasket that is supposed to be replaced every oil change. (Thanks Jiffy lube) no charge for the oil leak!! Ever heard of that?! They also changed a couple of routine maintenance items that were 19 years old. We cannot recommend Ian's enough and have told family and friends! Just had him change my timing belt, tensioner, and water pump. He called during to tell me my power steering belt and serpentine belt needed to be replaced also. Just charged me for the belts, no extra labor. Not the first time I've been there(he fixed my a/c last year) and won't be the last. Hard to find a really good mechanic you can trust and doesn't try to over charge. Can't say enough good things about KC Auto, so if you're looking for a good honest place, look no further! Firestone wanted to charge me $60 and refused to use my bulb (apparently it's against their policy). I went to Encinas and they were able to tell me when they could work on my car. Since it was the same day, I asked them to rotate my tires as well. I sat in their waiting area working on my laptop and they were done in under 30 minutes. I realized I hadn't asked how much they'd charge me and at the end, they refused to charge me anything! This kind of customer service is so unheard of nowadays. They've definitely gained a customer.
