The issues that now render the car driverless, would have been known on repairs prior to sale. 2nd, the salesman (with broken foot) who sold the car really should be ashamed to doing that to a 20 yo, with no knowledge of cars. But anyone who treats others that way, will surely receive the same blessing that he gave to the young man who took out a loan to purchase the car, of which he can now, no longer use. The quoted estimate was $1500 for the pads, brake calipers, drums, brake rotors, hardware kits, fluid, and labor. I had seen my car on a lift before taking it to Advantage Auto, and after inspecting the wheels, I knew the brake job was going to be involved (which is part of the reason I didn't want to do it myself). Jason loaned me a car for the day, which I greatly appreciated. AA worked from 9:00 till around 5:30 (they had delays in receiving parts from across town), and got me out of there the same day. My final price of $1300 was lower than the estimated $1500, as they didn't charge me for all the replacement parts. The brakes have been working as needed over the last month. Was it a lot of money? Yes. Did I get what I paid for? Yes. Would I go back? Yes.

Since this was a Saturday many car care places were closed, I happened to find Sinclair after a quick search of finding someone who was open on a Saturday afternoon. Sinclair was quick with their service, but also took time to answer questions and explain what the problem was with my vehicle. When I followed up with additional questions they clearly explained things in a way I could understand. They also took the time to show my husband and I what was the source of the issue. We also happened to share that we had a nail in the tire that we noticed when it was loaded up on the tow truck prior to our arrival, mentioning that we would need to go get the tire taken care of after we left Sinclair. They then went above and beyond to taking care of the screw that was in the tire. A day later they called to see if I made it back home safely. Thankful for the care they showed even after we left! We are beyond thankful for the customer service, attention to detail, communication and reliability! We plan to be back!

I took it to Robinson tire this time and they found that auto doc didn't even put the o-ring in the fuel pump. Auto doc wouldn't refund any of the extra money I spent. They even paid for a Lyft ride to go pic up a rental car. The next day, I get a call, and there is a long laundry list of things my car (supposedly needs). Some of the things mentioned, I was aware of, but when they started talking about my oil pan gasket needing replaced and the engine coolant being like water, I was like, "No way!". For one, I could go into my driveway and see that there were no leaks where the car has parked for the last 10 years. Also, the weather had just been close to 0 degrees, so if my coolant were like water, my engine block would have froze up. I told them to just do the cleaning of the throttle body (but they were still charging $450 to clean it). When I got the car back, the first thing I did was check the coolant, and it checked at good for -10 degrees, so it was hardly like water! My car uses half a quart of oil between oil changes, and it has 140,000 miles, so clearly, whatever leak they thought they saw, hardly warranted a $1,000 gasket change! They did fix the code, and two months later, all is still good (that's why I'm giving them 2 stars and not 1). However, I could have paid $2,500 for a bunch of stuff that wasn't needed, so beware when they call you with the estimate!
