From training students to set up still lifes with dynamic compositions to teaching color combinations, each and every project was treated with care, designed to push students to grow. Through these projects, I not only learned art techniques, but they also trained me to develop resilience and patience. I have grown as a person, and I use what I learn in their class in my daily life. When I became a senior in high school and started to apply to colleges, their support and guidance brought me to success. Ms. Rebecca and Mr. Corey knew the exact standard of a college portfolio, teaching me how to select and organize pieces. They continued to motivate me, dedicated to the development of my portfolio. I just got my son enrolled to the class too and after the first tryout class he already asked me if he could continue to go there with his sister. If you passed by the studio or see the entrance of all their advanced students artworks you will be amazed of how beautiful of those drawing. I highly recommend to others for this art school.

They have a systematic approach to teach children about oil painting. They started with other…read moremedium such as pastel watercolor and charcoal and then move to oil painting once basic skills are acquired. The main goal isn't to spend too much time on other medium, with oil painting being their final goal. The materials they use are all of high quality. You pay for it though. For example they will sell the nice paper one page at a time. Tuition also isn't cheap. I remember having to spend a few hundred on the supplies alone, when my child finally got moved to oil painting. No need to worry being held behind if your child is more advanced. They will just allow your kid to begin to work on the more advanced skills sooner. They do a showcase at the end of each class so you can see what other kids do, how every child interpret the same picture differently, and what you can look forward when move to more advanced level. it's very cool , and of positive reinforcement. Compared to other art classes in the area I'd say this is of much higher quality and better syllabus. They are not regimented compared to those places that were focused on competition or high school portfolio. Overall a very high quality place to learn oil paining but if you are looking to learn other types of art such as water color, then this may not be for you. Another drawback is that it's not so easy with scheduling makeup lesson.. and their policy isn't very flexible. They don't really have a good phone system so need to call leave a message, then wait for call back, or wait at end of class to reschedule in person, and there's often other people waiting too. Also must finish all make up in certain time. We ultimately had to stop going because rescheduling was so difficult and just plain hassle with kids getting older with more schedule conflicts. If they had changed their rescheduling method and allow policy being more flexible, we probably would have stayed. Overall still highly recommended.

The following courtesy class policies are designed to accommodate students as well as not overbook the classes and are strictly enforced. 1. A courtesy class is awarded if you miss your regular for any reason. We ask that you cancel in advance if you know you will not be able to attend your regular class time as this may provide an opportunity for other students to attend their Courtesy Classes. 2. Courtesy classes may only be scheduled within a month in which your Class Membership is paid. 3. Courtesy classes are scheduled in addition to, not in place of, your regular scheduled class. 4. Courtesy classes cannot be credited toward account balances, Membership fees nor substituted for regular classes. 5. Once scheduled, a courtesy class cannot be rescheduled. If you fail to attend a scheduled Courtesy Class, that class is forfeited. For parents with busy schedules and an already limited class schedule, this policy only adds to stress of scheduling classes for your kids. Unfortunately the business first priority is profiting off of you vs caring for your kids.

The kids rotate through different art classes everyday doing things like wearable art, puppetry, acting, working on different art mediums appropriate to their age groups. There is no attached playground so they take them to parks and fields during the day. They play these fun games and do things like escape rooms and mystery detectives that my child recreates at home. My daughter was excited to go everyday and kept asking why the camp was so short by the end. There is a fun exhibition at the end to see all their work. She loved all the teachers especially Ms. Allison which she just adored and was so sad to leave. The camp is affordable and not for profit, highly recommend for kids who love arts and crafts!

I went here as a kid and in hindsight this place is not good…read more First, there is the false advertising. When I was enrolled, it was implied that a good art portfolio is key to a good University application. However, it is hard to get anywhere with art without passion. Second, the environment isn't good. Students are expected to draw in a room without even windows. There is a passionless attitude among students because of how this place takes advantage of Chinese parent's dreams of sending their kids to ivy universities. Also, this place did not do much to help any of their students enroll in local art competitions while I was there. If you happen to think about enrolling your kid since they are in fact passionate about art, there is a lot better places that would better support their passion in a fun and lively manner. This place is more of a daycare with art supplies.
