I feel like you cannot go wrong with any AMC Theatres. The main reason I would go to this one in Montebello is for the convenience. If you are looking for a premium theater though, then a different location like Santa Anita would be a better fit. Overall, I think the pros of this theater outweigh the cons. Pros: Comfortable, fully reclining seats with plenty of legroom. Screen and audio quality are pretty good. The theater is fairly clean and well-maintained. Seat reservations can be easily made online. Plenty of parking available in the shared plaza. Cons: Does not offer IMAX with Laser or Dolby Cinema. Only 10 screens, so selections are more limited. read more

A decent movie theater thats been around for a long time. They been one of my staple theaters to watch movies when the timeframe works. They have their signature recliners that most AMC provides but they're a bit outdated in my opinion. Other AMCs like the one in Arcadia have their signature recliners more updated color wise and comfortability as well. They're also bigger which is nice to see. So this could get a big updated here in Montebello. Staff here is pretty quick, I have a AMC member account and saw that there's two lines to purchase concessions but the priority line (member line) had more people than the non member line, a bit of a funny moment there as my partner and I lined up at the non member line and got out popcorn quicker than the priority line. Parking is plenty, free in a large shared lot. You'll have a harder time not finding parking to be honest. One thing I can appreciate is that they keep the venue clean, plenty of restrooms around, speakers during the movies are pretty modernized as well which is nice as movie ticket prices these days are not cheap. read more

Haven't been to the Montebello AMC theater in over ten years due to a negative experience with noisy theater guests during a movie and the staff being unable or unwilling to kick them out. Decided to give the theater another chance upon hearing they got the recliner seats. The seats themselves were nice. However, the cleanliness of the theater was pretty disgusting... There was popcorn and trash all over the theater lobby. When I went to the men's restroom it reeked of feces and urine. There was also unflushed feces in almost all of the toilets. The restroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The soap dispensers also didn't work. Whoever oversees the cleanliness of this theater needs to be replaced. read more

Parking was easy and the theatre was super clean. A little confusing at first because you go to the bar area to get your tickets scannes but that would save money since theres less workers. Went to watch mercy in 3d laser. The chairs were so comfortable and you can adjust it so you have a leg rest. There is also alot of space as well. Cocacola icee was on the left side. This AMC has always been my absolute favorite. I've been going here for about eight years, and I can't believe this is my first time writing a review. First off, the staff is always very nice. Never once have I ever ran into someone who has a bad attitude. Everyone's just super chill and welcoming. Just as a movie theater should be. And of course, I love the seats! They recline, so of course it's a plus. I also think they have a good manager schedule person. Because they know what movies are in demand, and what theaters to give the bigger theaters to, and to the smaller theaters too. And lastly, the bathrooms are always neat and clean! This theater was pretty nice, especially for my first time being here. The seats were spacious and reclined, which made the whole experience really comfortable. The audio was at the perfect level, not too loud but still immersive, which I appreciated. The popcorn was good too -- pretty much what you'd expect from a movie theater. The workers there are super nice and Francisco was the most helpful one during my last visit. i accidentally lost my ID while watching a movie and i didn't realize until i was home. i came the next day and he helped me look for it. not to mention the place is always clean so my ID was easy to spot. the lobby and the bathrooms are never a mess and the food... is okay it's theater food so it's not the best but being there makes the food and experience better. also i love that all the auditoriums have recliner seats instead of the stationary ones. overall, 10/10 read more

I usually patronize AMC Monterey Park. The reclining seats at AMC Montebello are infinitely better! It made for a pleasuring viewing experience. There's no stairs here compared to other theaters. I did notice a lot more hefty people here. Perhaps, there's a correlation there! Staff was friendly and helpful! There's a bar here too! Yay! Cheers for alcohol! The popcorn here is meh.. if I'm being completely honest. Might have to buy myself a coke to keep myself awake! That's how comfy I was! We will definitely see a movie here again soon! read more

I had a terrible experience at the Montebello AMC. The employee taking my order made multiple mistakes, overcharged me, and had a very condescending attitude throughout the interaction. When I asked for assistance, the manager refunded part of my order but was equally dismissive and unhelpful, which only made the situation more frustrating. What made the experience even worse was the overall condition of the theater. It wasn't busy when I arrived, and there were plenty of employees standing around, yet the theater was noticeably dirty. The drink station was a mess, and the restrooms were in poor condition as well. As an AMC Stubs member, I expect much better customer service and a cleaner environment. This experience was extremely disappointing, and it's making me reconsider whether my membership is worth keeping. read more

Just saw Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. The movie was great and enjoyed the recliner seats. I can't say the same about the staff. They all look miserable to be there. I forgot the hot dog that I ordered. My fault for not having my receipt. I went back, not even more than 2 minutes. The cashier couldn't even recall and her other coworker had to interrogate me. I've always preferred AMC Theatres over Regal or Edwards. I come here often because it's conveniently located between me and my movie buddy. Parking is never an issue, as there's a large parking lot shared with just a few businesses. I love the reclining seats--once I tried them, I never wanted to go back to traditional stadium seating. The staff is always polite, and the facility is well-maintained. Although I'm no longer an AMC shareholder, I still support AMC and love the A-List subscription! read more

Went last night for a movie, and when we came out the restrooms were already closed off and the soda machines were off so we couldn't use the amenities even though the theater was clearly STILL open. Workers should not be shutting down until AFTER close. I've only been to this theater this one time because I was out in the area doing chores and wanted to see a movie that was starting right then so I typed it in the GPS and took off. The parking lot is pretty large so you will be able to find parking quickly. If you're trying to catch a last-minute movie, the place is clean (including the restrooms) and laid out pretty nice, and the staff was pleasant and professional. NOTE: Depending on which way you leave the parking lot, you might have to do a big 'ol U-turn down the road aways and flip a U-turn to get back on the freeway. read more

1 Incident was Customer service definitely needs to improve at this specific location I had no idea that we couldn't refill the cups that we had purchased there so when I was approached I had no idea what the worker was talking about and asked why he proceeded to tell me I had to dump it out and I apologized but I had no idea he was shaming me in front of everyone . These seats have recliners and you dont have to worry about arriving early to find seats. The concession stand is a little squished making it hard to walk around it to use the restrooms or check in. Even though I mainly watch movies at home nowadays, AMC 10 Montebello has been my go to place for newly released movies. They usually have Tuesday specials for members where the tickets are discounted, and you also get a drink with popcorn combo at a discount as well. We usually purchase the tickets online in advance, along with reserving our seats. Unfortunately we don't have the choice of choosing theater screens. Most movies we watch has already been out for a couple weeks. Thus, it's already in the small theater. But it doesn't matter imo, because we already chose our seats and what matters most is the comfort of the seats. Yes, they are nice reclining stadium seats. The theater itself is at an incline, so rarely if your view obstructed. I really like this theater. Very comfortable, and parking is pretty easy to find. Everyone is quite chilled there. read more

Came here on a whim to watch a movie after work. This AMC is located in an outdoor town center that has a couple of stores and restaurants/fast food places so there is plenty of parking (not much shade though). It's a smaller theater so lots of people crammed every which way in the lobby near the concession stand. Seems like everything was clean enough in the restroom and auditorium. No problems with picture/sound. Moviegoers are the usual crowd of people talking too loudly and bringing their crying infants to R-rated movies. I go to this location sometimes because it's one of the few that has reclining seats near me. I went to see Sinners yesterday and the theater was SO HOT. I always bring a jacket because I tend to get cold so I was so confused why the AC wasn't running well. It got so uncomfortably hot that it was taking my attention away from the movie. I like the fact that this theater is fresh off the 60 fwy. So it was easy to find. It is located in a large strip mall where a lot of other businesses are. So there was plenty of free and convenient parking in front of business or in the same parking lot. I purchased ticket off fandango. So all I had to do was have the QR code scanned from my phone. I met POF date here. It was her idea to come here. She liked this particular AMC theater, due to the comfy reclining seats. Since we went to a late and weekday showing, the theater wasn't crowded. Was given a $25 gift card for AMC and processed it onto the website. I was going to use the gift card on the website and it vanished without a trace. AMC like many companies makes it impossible to tak to a live agent. An automated email said to send in a copy of the receipt and a photo of the gift card front and back. Surprised i wasn't asked for a police report. The card was a gift and once the card was correctly registered on the site i tossed the card. I didn't think AMC would delete the card. This movie theater used to be my go-to spot in the SGV due to their reclining seats but will never be returning here. During the Wicked Part 2 opening weekend, my friend and I bought our tickets online in advance for an 11pm showing. The employee scanned our tickets, told us we'll be in theater 6, and I went to the bar. The bar ran out of a bunch of ingredients for the speciality cocktails and the subs/lack of garnish was disappointing. I also went to try the wicked pink/green popcorn and they were sold out but didn't tell me until after I bought a speciality popcorn bucket. After all this, we still went to the theater to get settled in. We sat in the theater for 30 min and the previews didn't start at 11pm so I went to ask what's going on. 3 different employees helped, checked my ticket and they said their theater doesn't have a 11pm showing and that it got cancelled. I never received an email and didn't get a refund. I had to dispute it with my cc company and the experience was a nightmare. read more

Matinee in Montebello, California... My friend, Niki, is a member of the AMC Theater loyalty club called "A-List". She gets to see three movies a week. I told her that I hadn't seen the movie, "Oppenheimer", yet and she offered to see this three-hour movie again with me. Yay! She chose this theater because it has reclining seats and is fairly new. At 12:15 p.m., it's quite clean because it's the first movie of the day. I arrived early and found a free parking space near the entrance. I asked if I could use the restroom while I waited for my friend who had the tickets on her phone. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They allowed me in without a ticket! Inside, the lobby and theater were air-conditioned well. Outside, it was about 92°F! We ordered a medium popcorn with free upgrade to a large bucket, using Niki's A-List benefits. She then got a free refill in a box! Yippee! I liked "Oppenheimer". It was very educational and "eye-opening" as Karen and Ken had said to me. They had highly recommended this movie... and I can understand why. read more

I love AMC movie theatres but coming here was not what I expected. The movie theater was quite filthy! The carpet was disgusting, the restroom had water all over the floor to the point where I almost slipped. Only one out of the 3 sinks were working, and no one came in to even bother to clean up. We had told the manager I believe her name was Valerie, and she was not professional at all. When we asked for the Clorox wipes to clean our seats, she simply " said they are clean," but since we our customers we have the right to clean out the seats anyways if we want. Furthermore, situations kept coming when we decided to go to the concession stand. Long story short... as A list member of Amc, they were not accommodating with an reward that my sister had on her phone for $5 popcorn and small icee deal. They said they ran out and they could not give her anything else for the same price. The manager was not fair in my opinion, because she could have least gave something worth $5, but instead she said no and was very nonchalant about it. However, it's only getting two stars because I do love the setup of their theatre's inside. However, I'm not sure if I will come back , I'll rather drive further to clean AMC's with professional staff. read more

Went to watch Thunderbolts for 2 hours and a half inside an oven because their air condition was broken!!! The employees knew this and did not bother telling all of us when they scanned our tickets. To think today was one of the hottest days of the week. It was 102 degrees outside, and the employees were very inconsiderate of our well-being. Yeah, so they charged me for both of my tickets even though I had a black ticket for a free movie ticket. I got my tickets from the counter rather than a machine so no receipt, just the tickets. The girl helping me was nice, but she completely forgot about my free ticket and still charged me for it. If you can see the ticket stubs, it says one is $18.39 and the other is $0.00. I tried to fight it, so I went to my bank and they also said no to me cause the tickets were too dark to see. read more

Alrighty, this review is a very long time coming, I've been coming here since 2006 when I was in high school but have been a pretty consistent regular here for the past seven or so years, I'm surprised I haven't reviewed until now! So here it is: out of all local AMC theaters in the area, this location is my favorite and in my opinion, the best one. It starts with the parking--there is a huge parking lot right in front of the theater and even more right beside it, in front of the Applebees. Going inside and having your tickets handy on the app makes everything a breeze. Just show your ID with your tickets and you're in. The employees are consistently kind and helpful. It's a movie theater and people are rarely courteous either cleaning up after themselves, so there is popcorn on the floors, spills in front of the soda machines, butter on the butter area, and even people that don't know how to aim in the bathrooms, but the staff here is always just so on it! They handle clean ups, spills, and the biohazards pretty immediately. A few times in the past when people next one have been a problem with talking or using phones in the movie, the management is always sympathetic, apologetic, and ready to make things right offering a new space to sit or a refund, and a voucher for concessions to return at another time. Beings. Regular here, the employees always remember me and check in with how I'm doing and even ask why I haven't been back in so long. (Work has me beat when I arrive home and most days I won't leave the house after haha). The seats here are reclining and cushioned and better quality than any other theater I've been in, and being an amc plus member basically pays for itself. read more
