They make it themselves unlike other bbq joints I've reviewed. That is the positive. The other are the people. Very friendly and try to be as accommodating as they can. The downside is they need more or larger set up as they quickly run out. If you're in the area it is worth trying. Now for the food: The mac n cheese is one of the better I've had. The potato salad is a southern mustard version, I believe. The baked beans may have cumin, I believe. At first, it wasn't bad but the cumin sort of tired me out. These sides issues are personal preference issues. If I liked their flavor they'd be good. The ribs were fall of the bone, but that shouldn't be the final judgement. The pulled pork and brisket were tender, however, all three suffered from what I'd say is a lack in flavor. I prefer more flavor to it. The bbq sauce isn't bad. I didn't have enough to really judge it. It isn't a thick sauce. I would prefer my bbq sauce to be in a container for me to apply rather than spread over my meat. Is it the best bbq in PA? No. Is it better than average? Yes, but not a top tier. Are the portions generous? For me, no, but maybe others yes. Is this the best bbq in the area? Currently, I'd say yes. Overall, would I eat here again? Yes, as they are currently the best in the local region. Will I go out of my way to eat here? Only if I have a strong urge for brisket or ribs. I honestly believe this place is between a 3 and 4, so a 3.5. Again, the people here have been very nice and try to be as accommodating as they can. read more

An absolute hidden gem! If you're in the area you must stop. Grabbed a pulled pork and brisket sandwich with sides of Mac and cheese - melt in your mouth meat and the Mac was so flavorful! Today we tied a new place that nan is still talking about. The pulled pork she had melted in her mouth, which allowed her to eat a lot as she has problems swallowing meat. The mac and cheese is just like she used to make. My brisket was also amazing, and we both left with almost 2/3 of the portion they provided. They have a back entrance for wheel chairs leading into the dining room, and when we left they not only opened the door for us but hand delivered our leftovers to the car. As she lost her balance and I tried holding her up, the owner immediately jumped into action to make sure she got in the car safely. Great food and out of the world service. read more

BEST BARBECUE EVER! Justin is an absolute master at smoking barbecue, & we customers benefit from it. The barbecued ribs are absolute perfection. Juicy & flavorful & fall-off-the-bone delicious. Our favorite sides to go along with the ribs are the baked beans & cole slaw. Both are excellent. We are in town for the weekend and needed a place to grab some lunch. Saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. Ordered a 2-meat meal and it was delicious!! Generous portions of both meats and the two sides that came with it. It was enough to feed two of us. The service was efficient and friendly. Definitely happy to support this family run business. It's a stand-alone restaurant on route 30 close to Caledonia. We might try and eat in next time - you order at the counter and then there's an adjacent room with seats to dine in. Online info says they're open Thursday-Sunday (til they sell out). We tried to stop by on Friday but there was a sign on the front door saying that for this weekend, they'd be open Sat and Sunday. So it might be good to give them a call before heading over just to be sure they're open/have meat left. Next time we are in the area, we will be back! read more

Amazing!!! Please Please do your BBQ palette a favor and drive an extra 10 minutes to this place. You will not be disappointed. The Brisket is outstanding. The baked beans amazing, great mac n' cheese. Simple ingredients done right. I've been to all the top BBQ places in the country; Arthur Bryant's, Q39, Oklahoma Joes, etc...Those places are at their pinnacle, so I won't compare 65 South to them, but for us to have BBQ nipping at their heels, we should be thankful. I cannot believe I drove passed this place so many times on my way to a chain restaurant in town just to eat processed foods. Trust me, this is the real deal. If you don't absolutely love this place, then you either don't like BBQ, or your gonna have to drive 16 hours to the Midwest or South to find better. read more

Amazing barbecue and customer service! This is a newer gem in Fayetteville,PA! We travel a lot and always get barbecue wherever we go. We happened upon this place by accident. This place by far goes in our top 5 for quality and taste. If you want real authentic barbecue give this place a try. They have melt in your mouth ribs, brisket, juicy pulled pork, chicken. Not to mention sides! The two gentlemen who worked there went out of their way to help us and we're so extremely friendly even though we came in close to closing. They offered us to still sit and eat even though they were closing and checked on us throughout our meal. Update: even better on the 2nd day! I was eating the pulled pork cold with no sauce and still amazing if not even better than the first day. I highly recommend this place if you love barbecue. read more
