We love having this restaurant in our community, but unfortunately there have been too many menu changes and all the things I love about this place are going away. First the tofu came off the menu, now no scallion or kimchi pancake, which was craveable. And can't get a large kimchi or even any to go. What's next, my beloved stone pot? Also, why french fries, cheesesteaks and burritos? Like everywhere else. Bleh. When this place first opened you were served soup with your meal and little banchan to nibble on. Order and pay at the counter now instead of at the table, and asked to try the new sauces and was told no, it is only for the fried chicken, which we did not want bc that is not why we eat there. And the prices have gone waaaay up, like everywhere else, which I would pay if the things I love weren't removed, but probably won't be back for a while. Love the sweet owner, but this last experience needs to be shared. Still gave it 4 stars bc the stone pots are delicious always. read more

You are immediately greeted by a staff member who brings you water and hot soup. The menu isn't extensive, but that's a good thing. This tells me that this restaurant knows its strengths. We started going here 6 years ago. We have only gone about twice a year. Lets just say inflation has hit this place/woman HARD. Today marks the 1st day in my life I did not tip (even though the last two times I went I could sense the stinge and noticed each time a food degradation). I am a VERY generous tipper. Portion sizes (lunch and dinner are the same just different prices) and quality of food went WAY down and prices doubled... inflation... I get it. She gave us two extra napkins (I had 4 kids I was dining with), she wanted to know who the extra chop sticks were for (maybe kids can't use chopsticks?), only gave us one Styrofoam cup for the littles to share, I asked for a to-go box for our food, it was too small so I asked for another one... it was even smaller. The gochujang sauce was a fake sweet flavorless watery sauce the color of buffalo sauce, not the deep brick red, spicey, fermented soy flavor. The pork was soooo low quality and skunky it tasted like a stall, the beef in the biibimbap looked to be a ounce and the veg was the same, no more shitake (even though previously they were obviously dried, its whatever). I have a feeling this place only has the rating it does because either people don't know good Korean and good service or are so starved for Asian food because Chambersburg only has diners and Latin (most of the Latin restaurants are great). Stay away from this place... stay away from Chambersburg period. The division between rich and poor is staggering. And people gotta do WHATEVER to survive. read more

This was an unexpected treat. We looked it up on yelp and were in the mood for Korean so we decided we would find it and give it a try. When we pulled in there were no other vehicles and no other people was there. We thought they were closed or something I have but were surprised that we were wrong. We went to the window and a lady assume that we were there to take out but we had one of the dine in. So she came out and set up a little table on the one side of the building I was away from the wind and proceeded to give us the full dying in treatment. We had a plate of traditional bulgogi that was split between two,one of the people I was with had the spicy dumpling soup, then the traditional sides and accoutrements. The bulgogi was tender and flavorful the dumpling soup was just spicy enough and the sides were everything that we expected. The best part is the price was below what we thought we should've paid for it. There's nothing better than getting good food cooked right at a price that's a steal. As others have noted, the food here is delicious, and the portions are generous. I feel like I am visiting a good friend's Korean mom's kitchen who has toned the notoriously blazingly hot cuisine down a notch for the American taste buds. Have no fear, this is authentic Korean food. The namuls are delicious, and we received a complementary miso soup for each main course. We really missed having our bibimbap in the stone bowl. Sigh! We ordered the dumplings (came deep fried), bulgogi, and jap chae. All were yum. We traveled the hour back home, and couldn't even wait to reheat our meals before diving in. We discovered this restaurant when we traveled to Chambersburg for our COVID shot at the Wellspan site. They are closed for dine-in during COVID, but quickly prepared our takeout while we waited in the U-shaped parking lot. I am going to be very honest. Chambersburg has suffered from a relative dearth of quality Asian food for a while. While it's not difficult to find a Chinese buffet or even the rare Japanese fusion/sushi restaurant hiding out in an obscure strip mall, Korean cuisine is almost unheard of. Thankfully, there is Korean Bulgogi House: the only (to my knowledge, feel free to correct me) Korean restaurant in Chambersburg, and the town's highest quality Asian restaurant - only a brief walk across the bridge from downtown. If you enjoy the many Korean restaurants found in larger cities, I am not afraid to say that Korean Bulgogi House does them one better. Relatively inexpensive dishes made with great care and effort, often as a one-person operation by the restaurant's owner. Great place to visit for flavorful shrimp or beef bibimbap. If you happen to be visiting Chambersburg for any reason, this place is worth dining in at or ordering from at least once on your journey. read more

The miso soup was tasty and rich as well. Main course? The stone hot pot beef bulgogi, yes please. All the right ingredients and served piping hot in a stone bowl. Yum! Because of covid, they only have takeout right now, but don't let that deter you. The food is THAT GOOD that you shouldn't wait for the dining room to reopen. We were in town for the sprint car races and searched online for places to eat. When my husband saw this he got very excited. Bulgogi is one of his favorite dishes but it's hard to find. When I called to order, the gentleman on the line helped me with my selection as we already knew beef bulgogi was in my husband's future. I ended up getting beef korean tacos. I picked up my order and everything was packed nicely. I won't lie...I was initially disappointed in the amount of bulgogi I thought I was getting. The container was rather small, but once we dumped it out on a plate it about doubled in size. They really packed it full. Husband said it was just okay, I tried it and thought it was fantastic. Maybe he is comparing it to what he got in Korea, which he said has more sauce? My tacos were the bomb. So many textures and flavors mixed together that I would not normally have thought to combine. I really enjoyed my meal from here, so much so I'm trying to figure a way to sneak another visit in before we leave town. read more

The building is very unassuming and you will miss it if you aren't looking for it. Nothing fancy, but very friendly and affordable.. The food was flavorful, fresh, served hot, and was delivered pretty fast. The portions were a little smaller than most Korean restaurants I have eaten. Kimchi was a separate ticket item, which is a little different as well. Most places I've been, a small Kimchi order accompanied the dish. Recently my wife and I were off work due to the weather and decided to try Korean food for lunch. We found Korean Bulgogi House in PA about 30 minutes from us so we decided to give it a try. It is a small unassuming place and I was a little skeptical as I entered. Since I had only been to one other Korean restaurant, I really didn't feel comfortable ordering for my wife and I. She got the shrimp wrap, I got the shrimp tacos and we got a plate of beef bulgogi. We were pleasantly surprised...the food was excellent, the server was attentive and the bill was reasonable. This tiny little restaurant, with just 6 tables, provides the dining quality that you would find in a large metropolitan city, but with the simple charm and casual homeyness from people who truly love making food. You can feel the love in every bite. We started our meal with the the 'special soup,' a light vegetable miso broth. We ordered the potstickers, which were served with a nice sesame dipping sauce, as our appetizer...they were the perfect crispness on the outside and juicy ground pork tenderness on the inside. We could have eaten 2 orders!! For our entrees...I ordered the Dinner Plate Special and chose the Beef Bulgogi, Tofu with House Special Sauce & Fried Rice...so good!! My husband ordered the Stone Pot Bulgogi Bibimbap...super yum!!! The flavor of the Bulgogi is perfection!!! Our meal ended up being $50 with tip and worth every single penny.
