    Pulled pork and baked beans

Cute little place in an older downtown area. We were in town for a lacrosse game and decided to stop. Our server was awesome and made great recommendations. Must try: bacon on a stick and pulled pork- both exceptional! Would definitely visit again!

I was in Carlisle, PA, for work for the week and did my usual TikTok research to find good restaurants in the area. I came across this spot and saw they offer all-you-can-eat wings on Wednesdays, so my coworkers and I decided to check it out. The place is small but has plenty of seating, including a back area with more tables. And let me tell you--I'm so glad we went. These were easily some of the best smoked wings I've ever had. When they say "all-you-can-eat," they mean it! Each round even comes with two sides, and the mac and cheese was ELITE. Our server was on point, checking in regularly to see if we needed anything or wanted another round. When I say I can't wait to go back, I really mean it. I'd love to visit on Thursdays for their all-you-can-eat tacos too. If I'm ever back in town for work, they'll definitely see me again!

The chicken is good. The fries are good. The sauces are mid. The Mac and cheese and other sides were awful. The brisket was bad and the sausage was inedible. When I heard the folks who owned it were from SC I had high hopes but as a Carolinian - just awful. The staff is the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1. And they let 2 people come in with a dog named Bella and just hang out.

In town for a graduation. We came in on Wing Wednesday and the smoked wings were delicious! My sides (baked beans and Mac n cheese) were only ok. My son got the fries and they were good. We also enjoyed the loaded potato skins. Staff was really friendly and attentive.

    Sweet Potato Fries and Cornbread

My family and I got the beef brisket, macaroni and cheese with another side of sweet potato fries. This place was amazing! Our waitress was beyond helpful given the number of people.

By far the best smoked BBQ/ or BBQ PLACE IN GENERAL. A-lot of southern hospitality- service was beyond amazing very polite and friendly , quiet relaxing place to get away from the busy city. Coming from the very EAST of eastern North Carolina (Hubert ). REDD'S smokehouse was by far one of the best parts of our trip to PA for the Carlisle car show ! 14/10 must recommend. I'd come back on a daily basis if I lived here .whole family loved it !

Full rack ribs, half dozen smoked wings, fries, Mac, cornbread
    Jason C.

Meats (ribs and wings) are good quality and big portions. Fries are very good and seasoned with what seems like old bay. Mac n cheese is moderately spicy which I wasn't really a fan of. Cornbread was bland. Apart from the sides being a bit off, the meats are what it's all about. Both the wings and ribs seemed to be a bit overcooked. I understand that smoked meats are supposed to be charred and I like charred meats, but these were too charred and a bit dry. The wings were very big compared to other restaurants, and the rack of ribs definitely had a lot of meat compared to other places as well. My main complaint is the prices here. $35 for a full rack meal is a bit high. Should be more in the $27-28 ballpark. Wings were well priced for the size though at $8.5. Overall going with a 4 for the overall quality of the food. Cook the meats a little bit less and I'd give this maybe a 4.25/5. Certainly one of the top spots for bbq in the area, but I wouldn't say this plays blows away somewhere like Mission BBQ, maybe beats it by just a tad.

Quarter rack of ribs, smoked chicken wings, two pieces of corn bread, sides of mashed potatoes and gravy and coleslaw, and KC BBQ sauce.
    Tom K.

Got the two item sampler with a quarter rack of ribs and smoked chicken wings. It comes with two large pieces of cornbread and two sides, and sauce. The mashed potatoes had pieces of skin included, which I prefer, and gravy. The quarter rack was very meaty and the portion of wings included half a dozen drums and paddles. It was enough to feed 2-3 peopleband was about $30 with tax and tip. Service was friendly and quick. The casual dining room was welcoming. Next time I'll eat in.

    That Bbq Sampler was krazy-good!

There were covered tables outside, for seating, and a food truck was set up next to the entertainment. We were looking for a local place to get a quick, late lunch. We really enjoyed the setting, on the old Main Street of Mocksville, NC. We looked over the menu for the food truck and decided to give it a try. We ordered the BBQ chicken, BBQ spare rib sandwich, and potato salad along with the macaroni and cheese, for our 2 sides. Because of an arrangement with the bar/store, we weren't able to purchase our drinks from them, but they did have a variety of sodas, water, and alcoholic drinks. Everything was delicious. I am not a big fan of red tomato BBQ sauce but the sauce was sweet, thick and tasty. The meat slid off the bones, and was very tender. We loved the potato salad, too. I guessed most of the ingredients, but there was something else in the salad that boosted the flavor! When asked what else she put in the salad, Kay responded, "the special ingredient is "LOVE." Eric and Kay, the owners, were great. They were friendly, answered all our questions about the food, and where they can be found in the area. Their phone number is included so you can find out where they are usually set up. With the increased prices for anything connected with food, it was a little high, but in line with all the other food trucks in our Piedmont, NC area. We recommend this mobile restaurant for anyone who loves BBQ and eating outside, on-the-go, or to take home! Thank you to Eric and Kay for adding to the enjoyment of our day out.

We are fans of food trucks in general because of the unique experience they provide, the random foods you can try and we like to support the little guys! My wife and I both ordered the pulled pork sandwich and she also had the macaroni salad. The pulled pork was just okay, nothing amazing. It was bland and they don't offer and extras like slaw. There was nothing that made it stand out. There was a lot of pork on the sandwich though which was good. My wife really loved the macaroni salad, it was flavorful and yummy! We did not try anything else but the other couple we were with said they tried the pork nachos before we got there but didn't like them. They said they felt it was made with canned cheese sauce and did not have much pork. Our food was ready within a few minutes of ordering which is good fast service. We don't know where they are from but it appears they serve South Central PA and the Carlisle, Shippensburg area.

Service started well enough. The problem started after we ordered. Wife got wings which she said were OK. Nothing special. I ordered shrimp tacos and my wife ordered the Pittsburgh salad. While waiting for the food, it started to get a bit busier and I had to go to the bar to get drinks refilled. I get it. It was getting close to happy hour on a Friday. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good. The steak on my wife's salad was so overdone it was hard as a rock. Inedible. The shrimp tacos were FRIED shrimp. The menu didn't say this. I was expecting steamed shrimp or any other preparation except fried. It's unfortunate because the rest of the taco toppings were good. Had the shrimp been anything other than fried, it likely would have been quite good. Menu should be updated to reflect the fact that the shrimp are fried. Didn't really taste like shrimp....just tasted like fried breading. Yuck. The fries were way too greasy. I only ate a few bites of the tacos and let the bartender know so she was kind enough to take them off of our bill. Don't know that we will be back.

More kind and accommodating on the phone than just about any restaurant I've ever called. We came in like a half hour early, over the course of 20 minutes, cause we were traveling in multiple vehicles from ways away... I called ahead, but they said it was no problem at all. They were super helpful, I got drinks started while the rest of the party arrived. Ordered a bunch of appetizers... Mozzarella, sweet potato, waffle, fries, calamari... With like three different dipping sauces. Each of those was fantastic. Folks ordered burgers, chicken, cheesesteaks, traditional fair, like cottage pie, etc. Quantities were massive. Food was tasty. Many to go boxes were provided. The desserts were a surprise... I got my bread pudding to go. And then a few people got the lava cake and shared it. Great beer selection. Great cocktail selection. Great music on the speakers... At least I thought so, the Young'ns weren't as impressed with the sing-along Classics. Our server was beyond helpful, responsive, kind, accommodating,; probably one of the best I've ever had... Is that possible? Big party, I didn't check the details on the check... and the large party tip was included already. So I gave her too much cash for the tip, she stopped me on the way out and wanted to make sure I didn't screw up... Which I did. So she returned a couple bucks. I've been there a few times over the years, and each visit has been about the same: decent food, good drinks, and service that's friendly but sometimes a little slow compared to the crowd size. It's not exceptional, but it's steady, and there's value in that kind of reliability. The atmosphere is distinctly classic, with dark wood paneling, dim lighting, and an overall feel that's equal parts pub and old-school cigar bar. It's a little dated, but in a way that feels intentional--authentic to the town's character. You get the sense that a lot of local business deals and long lunches happen here, and that's part of the charm. The location is just off the main drag where most of the Carlisle festivals and events happen, which can affect how busy it gets. During downtown festivals, expect crowds, but otherwise, it's a good place to relax and catch up over a meal or a pint. Overall, Market Cross Pub isn't trying to reinvent itself--it's simply a solid, familiar spot with dependable food, friendly service, and an atmosphere that fits Carlisle perfectly.
