Found this place searching for wings on Apple Maps. Drove over for a pick up order but didn't order until I got there and waited to "take out". The place smells amazing....just like a great Kansas City BBQ place would smell. I decided to go with the two meat plater with two sides. I picked smoked chicken breast and wings with Mac and cheese and baked beans. Chicken breast: you could taste the smoke with a good flavor but it was cut very thick and was pretty dry. It ripped apart as I was cutting it. 6/10 would not order again. Wings: PHENOMENAL! They were massive and very flavorful. 10/10 would order again. Macaroni and Cheese: Great side would pick again after trying all of the others. Baked Beans: would use as a staple side and order every time I went to this restaurant for food. Menu has a good selection including BBQ Chicken, Pulled Pork, Brisket, Wings, Ribs, and various other options. I went with the Brisket dinner, with French Fries and Mac & Cheese as my sides. The meal included a piece of cornbread. They now serve Coke products. The BBQ was cut into thin long strips, which is different but interesting, and it was a good amount. Four different sauces were located on the table, with my favorite being Kansas City. Mac & Cheese was good and creamy. The fries came with a seasoning on top, but to me they could have been fried a little longer, and the cornbread was ok. This is not the cheapest BBQ meal you will ever have, but the portion sizes make up for that. The service here is also very friendly and gave me recommendations when I asked for their suggestions. I was in Carlisle, PA, for work for the week and did my usual TikTok research to find good restaurants in the area. I came across this spot and saw they offer all-you-can-eat wings on Wednesdays, so my coworkers and I decided to check it out. The place is small but has plenty of seating, including a back area with more tables. And let me tell you--I'm so glad we went. These were easily some of the best smoked wings I've ever had. When they say "all-you-can-eat," they mean it! Each round even comes with two sides, and the mac and cheese was ELITE. Our server was on point, checking in regularly to see if we needed anything or wanted another round. When I say I can't wait to go back, I really mean it. This has to be the best BBQ spot I have ever found. The owners are genuinely from the South and being a family business, it has stayed consistent! The meatloaf...GET THE MEATLOAF! Long time Redd's visitor. Carlisle and Mechanicsburg. Yesterday our meal was subpar Upon ordering told no fries because fryer had been down all week Ok. Placed an order anyway. Food arrived. Platter served with round buns which were cold and very stale. Macaroni was cold, not even lukewarm warm. Coleslaw tasted sour, and was warm. Ribs were dried out and tough as leather. Chicken was actually good...pulled pork was cold. The entrance doors were being held continuously open.... So we spent our visit chasing flies off our food and straws. Definitely not one of our better visits. The waitress was absolutely wonderful. No. We didn't complain. Hopefully this was just a fluke, and back to better food next time. read more

I remember when these fellows were working out of a food truck located near the fairgrounds. I was excited when they opened up a pit on N. Hanover. Over the years their food has been consistently good but never great, sad considering the owners are from SC. The pit seating area is relatively small and can get crowded at lunch and in the evening. Omg, so delicious! Came here for dinner while visiting Dickinson College with my son and we decided to try it out. So glad we did! Meats (ribs and wings) are good quality and big portions. Fries are very good and seasoned with what seems like old bay. Mac n cheese is moderately spicy which I wasn't really a fan of. Cornbread was bland. Apart from the sides being a bit off, the meats are what it's all about. Both the wings and ribs seemed to be a bit overcooked. I understand that smoked meats are supposed to be charred and I like charred meats, but these were too charred and a bit dry. The wings were very big compared to other restaurants, and the rack of ribs definitely had a lot of meat compared to other places as well. My main complaint is the prices here. $35 for a full rack meal is a bit high. Should be more in the $27-28 ballpark. Wings were well priced for the size though at $8.5. Overall going with a 4 for the overall quality of the food. Cook the meats a little bit less and I'd give this maybe a 4.25/5. Certainly one of the top spots for bbq in the area, but I wouldn't say this plays blows away somewhere like Mission BBQ, maybe beats it by just a tad. read more

The meatloaf was throwing me but it was the star of the BBQ platter. The waitstaff? Everyone is so nice, the waitress tells us she loves working here because the food is so delicious and everyone is always happy. My kind of place. The platter arrives, We both try the meatloaf. Deelish! It comes with a gravy that puts it over the top. The meat blend is a bacon pork mixture, it just works. The wings had a nice Smokey flavor, although they were on the small side. The brisket, it was cut too thin. It took away from the fatty-juiciness you normally associate with a thick cut of brisket. It had a nice flavor but not something I'm used to. Sausage was wow fantastic. I hesitate to say better than Steelton hot sausage but yeah it was the bomb. Burned my lips and loved every bite. Cole slaw was still nice and crisp I hate soggy salads. The BBQ was good. Ribs were the best. Dry rub thick beef ribs charred to perfection. Chicken a lil dry but it was all white meat so ok. The pulled pork was to salty for me and my least fav. The slaw was sweet and creamy. Perfect pairing for the chicken. Mac and cheese was peppery. My corn bread was ruined by meat juices but I ate the top and it was smoky flavored. To start off this is just a takeout review as they are currently only doing take out, which I respect. When walking into this restaurant it's a cozy feeling you get with the dim lighting, they were SUPER nice over the phone and even answered the call with their name, super professional. I have lived in the area for the past couple years and have always been recommended this place for BBQ but didn't give it a try until this week and boy was I missing out! Since my visit I've been craving more of their food! I ordered a few things including their BBQ pulled pork sandwich loaded with pepper jack which was delicious and the meat was not dry at all! I also got coleslaw which was creamy, in addition I got baked beans, mac&cheese and corn bread and every dish exceeded my expectations! I can't believe I waited this long to try their food! We were actually not planning on visiting here, we only had plans to visit the downtown pub next door. Our Lyft driver recommended this place and we weren't disappointed. We were there just before closing time, but we didn't feel rushed, nor was the quality of food anything short of amazing. We ordered the three meat BBQ platter... the ribs were fantastic, not very fatty and full of meat. My husband who is the brisket fan said the same about the brisket, it was not fatty, just how he requested it. The pulled pork didn't disappoint either. We had a lot of leftovers, so the portion was large and more than enough for two people. This place sits in the downtown area of Carlisle,Pa. Parking outside of the restaurant have parking tolls, but in a Sunday it is free. This is my husbands second time here and my first time. Walking in the place is clean, and well kept. They're awards are posted all on the wall. They win best restaurant of the year almost every year and I know why! My husband and I shared wings, coleslaw, sweet potatoe fries and corn bread. Their wings are smoked and fall right off the bone. The wings are seasons perfectly and it's delicious. You can add sauces which are on your table. I tried all 5 sauces and each one is very good. The sweet potato fries are very good! They are cut thin and that's how I like them. Coleslaw is made in house. The sauce is thick and creamy. The taste is very good it's just to creamy for me. The corn bread is dry, more of a salty flavor than sweet. The service is very good! From the looks of it, one waitress takes care of the lower part of the restaurant. Which is the front of the store. The back next to the cashier there is a another waitress. They get busy very quick! I overheard conversations with the waitress and the customers and the waitress as busy as she was took her time to explain the menu and answer questions they had in a patient and friendly way. Brisket was chopped up in small pieces and very dry. The sauces couldn't even help. The ribs, while seasoned well, had more fat than meat. I have never had baby back ribs that were so fatty.
