Totally have never had anything bad or off at 6th & Vine. We usually go for supper or a late meal but today we went for lunch, and the food was immaculate! The only thing I have to say is that we originally asked to sit outside at one of the covered tables, but the waitress set us down beside the dirt area where they grow flowers, but some smell permeated the air that was unappetizing so we moved inside and all went well after that. I fell in love with their turkey sandwich, which had bacon, lettuce, tomato, and melty fontina cheese on a fresh Texas toast. The potato quarters that came with it were crispy and flavorful. My bf got a regular cheeseburger and I forgot to take a picture of it but it got gone really fast! Last month we went and both ordered salads. I didn't know what cocktail to have with a salad so the waitress recommended the Strawberry Aperol Spritz, which somehow made the Poached Pear salad taste like summer in Italy. The service at the bar was mediocre at best with the bar tender staying at the far end, not checking to see if we needed another drink while we waited on the humus app which I believe they had to go out and harvest the chickpeas for. I will say that after waiting on the appetizer for way longer than it should have taken, the humus was great! This was probably the only reason 6th and Vine received 3 stars. The inside has various kinds of seating from the bar to couches if you're just looking for a place to sit for a drink, and also tables if you're looking to enjoy dinner. I decided on the Short Ribs after the bartender recommended them highly. I also went with his beer choice - New Belgium Mountain Lager - my first try on this one. It was quite good!!! The Ribs (actual 1 large, boneless rib) was out quickly. The rib was totally tender, no knife required, bursting with flavor, further enhanced by the "Fresno chili glaze" - damn this was good! The problem with a dish this good - when you come back, do you stay with this or explore the menu! The popcorn rice (a brand name I was told) was also excellent, moist and fluffy, with bits of herbs and celery. The tomato and cucumber pico was also super, coated with benne seeds ( sesame seeds to you and me) - loaded with flavor! I sat at the bar, not really a hipster move, but one I prefer more often than not. The service here was exceptional, the recommendations were spot on. All in all, simply an outstanding meal! The parking is a small concern here, but can be dealt with. This is not an inexpensive place, but I found value because of the quality of both the food and service. Being able to walk in and immediately get sat for an amazing Sunday brunch is a luxury in Winston! We'd heard amazing things about brunch at 6th and Vine & finally got to try it. Let me start off by saying I was skeptical when the salmon came out- but holy smokes. This is one of the best salmon dishes iv ever tasted. What a great time we had while hanging out here, the ambiance was on point, creating an incredible atmosphere. The vibes here were simply awesome. The food was absolutely delicious, we ordered the "French Dip Burger" and the "NC Rainbow Trout en Papillote" and omg, that burger DELIGHTFUL! ! Each bite was bursting with flavor. It honestly left me wanting more. Did I mention that they have craft cocktails, beers, and a good wine selection? And this time I have to make a hard decision and go with a cocktail and it did not disappoint, their "Vine 75" is a MUST! First time to dine here for brunch and got seated right away! Had the breakfast burrito and it did not disappoint! Super flavorful and satisfying. I also tried the elderberry drink and absolutely loved it! It's so refreshing and unique. We recently got to stop by for Saturday brunch and our friends decided to try their brunch pizza and aperol spritz's. The drinks were classically made and a really great price but the pizza was absolutely the star of the show! Scrambled, fluffy eggs, bacon, potato hash browns, cheese, and sausage gravy all sitting on top of a flatbread and baked. Cute and cozy spot, perfect place to relax with a glass of wine. I came here the other night for a free sparkling wine tasting. I love my bubbly and never turn down a fun sampling. They had an Italian, Spanish cava and a rose. The host was really nice and personable and the bottles were all great value (no more than $30). After the tasting, I sat down at the bar and had a glass of the Italian and their special mussels with chorizo in a wine-butter sauce. The mussels were great but did take a while to come out, also not a huge deal, but there was no garlic bread served with the dish which I would've have liked to be able to enjoy some more of the sauce after I finished the mussels! It's been about a year since I visited 6th and Vine and let's just say they're consistently fabulous! I haven't had a bad meal, drink nor experienced bad service from this place. It's my go to spot to watch the game on Sundays. For brunch they have $5 mimosas! You can't beat that. They also have other drink specials. I tried their brunch pizza with eggs, sausage and gravy, freakin amazing! I was a little apprehensive about that combination but I took the bartenders suggestion and my mouth danced. I have been a dedicated patron of 6th and Vine for over 15 years. I've always had great service and great food. However this past visit really left a bad taste in mouth regarding food but worst of all the service. This occurrence happened on June 30th, but was so hurt, embarrassed and angry that it took me several weeks to come up with the right words to say. I ordered the turkey sandwich for $14. Since I am doing keto for medical reasons I asked no bread. Be mindful I have ordered this before this before without bread/bun and it came out superbly. However this time as you can see my plate looked only perhaps a 3 year old would eat and even that is debatable. 4 half slices of meat, one lettuce and 2 ring of onion. I was shocked that even the chef would have something to this appearance leave their kitchen in this sad pathetic manner, and even more ridiculous was the waitress had the nerve to even serve this to me (be mindful that the waitress is the daughter of the owner). I was so embarrassed and angry. The waitress was completely unapologetic when I said I wasn't satisfied with how this came out. I asked to look at the menu, and pointed out it was missing ingredients....no bacon, avocado. Waitress blamed it on the new cook. Point is, whether you are a dedicated patron for years or this is your first time visiting this establishment, respect goes a long ways and as well as the quality of food. Never again will I step into this restaurant. This should have never happened, and they should be ashamed that it did. read more

Random Wednesday night, sat at the bar and ordered a wonderful red blend , paired it with the ahi tuna appetizer and the margarita flatbread, both outstanding plates. The tuna,perfectly seared with a a great ponzu sauce, and veggies and plenty of it to share. The flatbread came out hot, great crispy crust, and plenty of toppings and yummy cheese. The sauce was really nice and herby too. The dessert they had left was a strawberry and blueberry bread pudding, this was delicious, served with ice cream, warm, and gooey, is the best way to describe it! Ever been here for Brunch? It's decent. While not well known for brunch, 6th and vine's is worth a go for an elevated experience. The flavors of their main dishes were really the stars as the accessories to the meal (the Bloody Mary and the side potatoes) weren't. The Bloody Mary was a little too Smokey and too heavy on dry seasonings - it lacked the tomato punch. The side potatoes were nicely seasoned with rosemary but were pretty chewy - I could tell they had been sitting in a hot box for a while. Although I didn't love the Bloody Mary or the potatoes, the eggs Benedict bumped me up to a 4 star rating. It was exactly how it should be: delicate smoked ham with gooey cooked eggs & a perfectly balanced lemony hollandaise. The freshness of the micro greens sent it over the top for me It deserves a chef's Service was attentive and nice. Try it out! Last weekend on my husbands birthday downtown crawl we stopped at 6th and Vine to enjoy some quiet time tucked away on their beautiful patio. With ivy covered brick walls and beautiful flowers and greenery next to us we enjoyed two wine flights. I had the port flight and my husband had the white flight and between us we tried seven wines and all were great. For the price, $16 each, we received generous pours that left me nice and tipsy as we made our departure- no cheap pours! We didn't eat on this visit but they have a beautiful menu we will sample from next time. This is such a nice place to grab a zen moment and I think the flights are a great deal! read more

It is extremely hard to beat 1/2 price glasses of wine on a Thursday afternoon, however, the food was equally amazing. This restaurant and wine bar definitely needs to be visited for the food alone, the chef is absolutely amazing and you can tell he enjoys his craft. My husband and I both had the vine burger with Mac and cheese and devoured it. The service here was outstanding as well, the manager and our waitress offered tips about the city and treated us like old friends. I went here on a Friday night with a group of 9 people. We had made a reservation a couple days earlier due to being a large group. We originally wanted a 7pm reservation, but they preferred we did a 6:15pm reservation. However, after seeing how the restaurant was not too busy the whole time we were there, I am not sure why they wanted us to do an earlier time. The mixed drinks here were not bad and our waiter offered to bring us bread as we finished deciding what we were going to order. However, the bread basket was not on the menu so we did not realize until we got the bill that it was not complimentary. The bread was good and it came with butter and jam. After we ordered our main meal, it was a good hour wait or so until we got our food. I had ordered their steak sandwich with a side of macaroni and cheese. I ordered the steak medium, but when it came, it was definitely more medium rare/rare. It was nothing special, but did not taste bad. The macaroni and cheese side dish was very yummy and I had also tried my friend's Parmesan pasta which was also very good. My husband got a Caesar salad and the taste was very strong of anchovies. Our waiter had a bit of an attitude as I think they were frustrated that we were a larger group taking a long time in general. We had the restaurant store our friend's cake and the staff was unable to figure out how to take it out of the box so it was still in the box when they brought it for dessert. They brought us extra plates, but no knife so we had to use one of the butter knives we got with our silverware set. Overall, while it wasn't a terrible experience, I don't see myself going back. My wife and I had another good (but not great) visit the other night. Good: Lots of cute nooks and crannies to sit in. Not Great: Sullen hostess and we were not given a cocktail menu (which I snagged from the bar). Good: The antipasti and cheese plate is generous at $14 (especially in comparison to what is offered at Sir Winston). Not Great: Only 3 pieces of bread and nothing sweet on the plate to complement the meat and cheese. Had to ask our server what was on the plate. Good: Korean meatballs with slaw were pleasantly spicy. Not Great: Slightly overcooked and the Korean sauce was sticky sweet. And so on. Comfortable but not going to knock your socks off. Sunday is half-price wine bottle night, which is a good deal anywhere. read more

It's been years since we were in this restaurant. Wanted Sunday Brunch so decided to give it a try. We had the breakfast burrito and smoked ham and cheese omelette. Take a look at the photo - we were a little surprised at what little fruit came with it. We are not big on a lot of potatoes but this was the smallest portion we have seen. For us it was fine as we do not each much, others may take exception. The food was delicious. The wait staff was very nice. The only downside, was the food was delivered mildly warm and quickly cooled due to the lack of heated plates. It was a very cold morning. Been wanting to try 6&V for quite some time now, and we were able to stop in for some flights on my birthday, a great weather Saturday afternoon. They are seating only on the patio right now, but what a nice relaxing vibe from our seats, as hopefully my pics convey. Great place to come if you can manage to leave the kids behind and relax on a date. Service was friendly, and the wines were overall very tasty. We were full from restaurant hopping on this occasion, but I would look to return to try some of their dishes. Lace got the flight of reds, and I got the whites. Forgive me for forgetting the names (they do write the names on the glasses for you), but I remember Lace's wines tasted like some good sherry. Surprisingly, she liked them too, since sherry is usually more my speed. We enjoyed the white wines as well. I was told that I couldn't get the sparkling wine as part of the flight, but one of the other wines I got was rather effervescent. That was the Italian wine. 6th and vine exceeded my expectations and we will be back. We started with cocktails, and my favorite being the cucumber gimlet. Since it was late and we were ravenous we split the chorizo nachos which were so tasty and a great shareable starter! My friend and fiancé got the shrimp and grits and let me tell you they both cleaned their plates!! Lots of flavor and filling. I got the jalapeño maple glazed bacon and chicken croissant sandwich and Mac and cheese. I will say the picture does not look like much, but WOW this sandwich was packed with so much flavor and the other half was great leftover!!! Only other recommendations I'd share is they have indoor and outdoor seating. I think outdoor is more desirable, cute. They close at 9 on Fridays but that is just to be seated as we were served until we finished our meal. Note: as of last week they were not running at full capacity. I would come here at the very least 3 times a week and it was my date night place. It all started about 2 years ago with dip that after 3 times going back still came out cold. No. When going to brunch on company time you don't have time to wait. Came back with my husband- was left sitting at a table the hostess sat us at for 20 min- no server showed. After walking off to go to the place up the street the owner writes me and apologizes and offers free apps... NO. I'm already up the street now. Come back again- did I mention it's across the street and convenient?? I wanted the special that was on the board; I was told there were no specials- I'm like; there's specials on the board. I was told they weren't specials and I couldn't order from the board. While drinking my Tea a server passed by with a few plates, one of which was the special on the board. Now again I was told there were no specials and I could not order from the board.... I left. Left cash for 2 drinks and a tip.. I'm amazed at how this place has gone downhill; it used to be my favorite now it's not even a recommendation. read more

The corn muffin basket hit the spot while waiting for our food. It's a small menu, but the food was big on flavor! My husband and I don't eat large, so when we can, we like to split a meal. Sometimes restaurants will balk, but not this place, they even split our one dish into 2 separate, but equal portions. The service was top notch and the prices were reasonable. read more

I normally do not complain at restaurants but this place made the exception list. 1. The wine was advertised on their website menu, which you use the QR code at the table to access, as 2019 vintage for $64. The physical menu on the table that we noticed after we saw the online menu said 2019 bottle for $72. When we asked which price was correct, the waitress said the cheaper price was wrong and the higher price is correct. Already off to a bad start. If you are advertising 2 prices, you should honor the cheaper price due to the restaurant's incompetence. We ordered the bottle anyways and when it came out the waitress did not present the bottle, which normally is fine, but the vintage was the 2021. In a wine bar and dealing with wine people, the vintage is very important. Also, the foil was not cut below the ring of the bottle and was sticking up. Not a huge deal but, again, when dealing with wine people, following the proper process of pouring a $72 bottle is important. Clearly the waitress was not trained well. 2. We ordered food and the food was awful to decent at best. We ordered a flatbread and the bottom was burnt black so burnt was all you could taste. They took it off our bill so that's whatever. We ordered a Cesar salad and it was extremely fishy. I understand anchovies are used in the dressing but the entire salad tasting like fish and lettuce. This should not happen. 3. When we spoke to the manager about our concerns, she dismissed our issues with the price, vintage and pour process and said she couldn't help us. When we mentioned that the price was advertised differently on the website she said she would check into it and adjust the price. She was mentioned she was hesitant to help us out because the bottles were already priced so low. I have been in the service industry and the approach and hesitation to solve the issue was very disturbing and instead of diffusing the situation it only made us more upset that they did not want to address their pricing issue, mis advertised bottle and uneducated staff problems. OVERALL... we had high expectations due to this being a wine bar and having a 4 start review but I would not go back here and with the amount of wine bars, cocktail bars and awesome restaurants in the vicinity, I would recommend everyone to check out another spot. This place missed the mark with food, customer service and product knowledge. read more
