I stopped in for lunch with a friend recently on a Friday afternoon. It's been many years since I last visited, but we were welcomed in, and sat ourselves. A server came over quickly with food and drink menus. They've got a decent beer menu with a good selection and variety in both bottle/cans and on tap. The food menu is pretty basic bar food, lots of appetizer options, wings, and sandwiches. I was very surprised the menu didn't offer any burgers. I'm not sure if it's always been like that, or a more recent change. We placed our orders, I got a buffalo chicken wrap (which they allow you to pick you sauce level), and for my side, I got crinkle fries. I also got a Hoppyum IPA. Everything came out pretty quickly, and was good. Portion sizes were decent. Overall a good visit. The space itself is very much a sports bar, lots of tvs, to catch any game, plenty of seating, and even a back room for private parties. Pricing is fair for the portions, and staff is friendly. This is a fun bar to enjoy if you are looking for drinks, entertainment or food. I enjoyed hanging out for an afternoon and evening on the spacious patio and inside for a more intimate experience. There are many friendly patrons, bartenders, staff and yummy food. I came for a birthday event and met some wonderful people. The weather was good so we sat outside after we ate. A great space to enjoy. After a while we decided to come back inside and found that the owner had hired a musician to keep the vibes going. A great night and a good experience. Soon after relocating to the area, someone recommended we give Box Seat a try. We have now been frequenting this place for a little over a year and after trying a few different menu items, the Tex-Mex dunk has become our go to sandwich. It is just delicious and their tater tots are great and now our favorite side! We've also had the smorhered potato appetizer and the potato skins- both great options as well. We prefer to sit at the bar and the bartenders we have had have been great. The mixed cocktails we have tried have been fabulous. Now for the only negative. We came here originally out of curiosity for the BBQ stuffed hushpuppies as recommended & they quickly became our favorite, however; something changed with them when we ordered them on May 1st and even after the bartender agreeing that they weren't right and she had them remade- they still weren't the same :( The fact the BBQ sauce is a thicker/sweet sauce (think Sweet Baby Ray's) rather than the traditional vinegar BBQ sauce most places here have is part of why we loved them. Unfortunately on May 1st, they came out the first time as though a hot sauce (think Cholula) was drizzled on them rather than BBQ and when they came out the second time they still tasted like hot sauce. If this had been our first time trying them, I would NOT order them again and probably wouldn't have come back. I am skeptical now of ordering them again even knowing what they should be. Bottom line- if you want a chill vibe with some great food and drinks- check this place out! read more

Finally made it to this spot after having worked at the nearby climbing gym for over a year now! It's walkable from Duckus but I drove over after my shift because I was on the way out of town and didn't have a lot of time. Enjoyed a glass of Prosecco and shared some onion rings. It was nice to be able to sit outside on a relatively cooler day while some other patrons were playing cornhole and just having a good time. Guinness pints for only $5.5 too! I've been coming here for years and just realized I've never left a review. This place has been part of the community for over 30 years, and through all that time one thing has remained constant: the food. It's always been high quality and consistently excellent, which speaks volumes about a kitchen team that has been here for many, many years. Like any long-standing restaurant, there have been ups and downs. Service has occasionally been hit or miss, and the atmosphere shifted for a while from its classic sports-bar feel to a younger crowd. Lately, though, it feels like things are finding their way back to the "old days" -- in the best way. If you value great food made by people who clearly care, this place is worth supporting and sticking with. They did used to offer half price wing night and they did lose some business when it ended, but their wings are phenomenal and I can imagine they'd struggle to stay open with that offering in today's economy. This review is odd because I have so much nostalgia built into this place. Back when they had half-off wings on Thursdays, my friends and I would go every week. I miss it so so much, and I understand good deals like that sometimes have a shelf life. My recent visit had the wings at full price, which had also gone up. Again, please know this whole review is about price However the wings are still FIRE. The Daytona is still the most succulent, grilled combo of bbq and teriyaki. And the Cajun is just bonkers. The goated flavor of any wing in Greensboro imho. And look: it's a decent sports bar with an absolute textbook sports bar vibe. Staff is nice and quick, and the cooks do things with wings that should hang in the Louvre. Please bring half priced wing night back. The people need it read more

We walked in and were a little confused as to how we would be seated. No one announced whether to seat ourselves or wait. Since no one approached us, we grabbed the first clean table nearest to us. We didn't wait terribly too long before a waitress approached us. This is a bar, so the volume is going to be loud. I was ok with that, because if you come to watch sports...this is perfect. They had several different sporting events on the various TVs. The only downside to my visit was minor. The paper menus were pretty dirty looking. Definitely time to replace them. I would invest in laminating the new ones. The items listed on the menu looked very appealing. It was really hard to decide what to get. I typically go straight to the burgers, but this time, I decided to get a Philly steak and cheese with hot chips. My daughter got mozzarella sticks and boneless wings. We were both pleased with our meals. Our waitress visited our table often. There is a lot of room in this restaurant and there even a[pears to be a party room in the back. I've been here a few times. It's alays a good experience. I sat at the bar and was greeted with enthusiasm. Ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich and hot chips. Delicious as usual, forgot to take photos of menu or food. It's Saturday afternoon so lots of people watching college games, with lively conversations. Saw they're having a NYE party with buffet. What I love is that you can get the Turkey Jammer hot or cold, and it tastes amazing either way. The flavors are fresh, well-seasoned, and comforting. The potato salad is the perfect side--creamy, flavorful, and always fresh. When I've eaten inside, I've also enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. It's a place where you feel comfortable, whether you're meeting friends, eating with family, or just grabbing something on your own. Box Seat combines great food, a nice environment, and excellent customer service, which is rare to find all in one spot. The Box Seat is the beloved bar of my fiancé, and one in which I have lovingly dubbed "The Old Man Bar," as Box Seat gives The Sawmill (another old man bar) a run for its money. This bar is perfect for football enthusiasts who would love a night out with the guys to watch the game. As the name implies, they are a big sports-related bar. However, I don't call it "The Old Man Bar" for no reason. While The Box Seat is perfect for game nights, it's not the place you would go if you want a major celebration or night on the town. So not the best for (Bachelor or Bachelorette, 21st birthdays), pretty much anything rowdy or party related. The youngest people who frequent it are the wait staff or small children that families bring in. Outside of the atmosphere of a football game, the place is very relaxed and dormant. With mostly regulars just keeping to themselves and having a drink or two. I almost expect that having white hair and a beard is a requirement for entry on those nights. However, what really separates Box Seat from the pack is the food. Which is delicious. Out of the 4 years I've been to Box Seat, we've only ever had one bad experience with the food, which speaks volumes. In my opinion, the crown jewel is their newly appointed "Turkey Jammer," But really everything on the menu is pretty delicious. They aren't really known for the deserts and wouldn't recommend them, but everything else is Chiefs' kiss! The wait staff is hit or miss, with them hitting/knocking it out of the park more often than they miss. The wait staff, most of the time, are very friendly, sweet, and make you feel like family. The Box Seat overall has a caring/loving attitude towards its staff, as well they're currently helping raise money for one of their cooks who has been with them for years. Overall recommended for those 40 and over, or if you are an enjoyer of yelling at one of the many screens on a football night. read more

I have been coming to the Box Seat for many years. My granddaughters really like the chicken tenders, so I will swing by here to pick up dinner for all of us when they come to visit. The last couple of times I was there, the bill was a bit steep and I wasn't sure why. Two orders of chicken tenders and a burger was almost $40 not counting the tip. I then learned that there is a 10% To Go fee. Take out is already expensive, but this is too much. Also, there used to be six tenders to an order, but now there are only five and some of them are kind of small. I am going to have to find another place to get dinner when the granddaughters come to visit, because I am not paying that fee! read more

I came on a Friday night and there was karaoke. The atmosphere was loose, with a few drunk people dancing near their tables. I ordered a salad and it was good, appropriate for the inexpensive price I paid. The establishment can be a great place for people who like a little crazy and are looking for a place to watch sports and let loose.
