Despite it's outwardly glitzy appearance, be prepared to be let down time and time again, as operational issues cause a bevy of annoyances and frustration. This location is above and beyond the largest 7-Eleven I've been too, but bigger doesn't necessarily mean better. I've kept my eye on how this location came into being. You might recall that in the not-so-distant past, the store was located on the Northeast corner of Preston and Alpha. It was there for many years, then a larger, competitor sprang up all around it. I'm sure that didn't sit well with the 7-Eleven folks, so they built an even more imposing and grandiose outpost to compete on the adjacent corner. The problem is, it's all style and no substance. The exterior looks cool and with the addition of a Laredo Taco Company on the inside, it appears to be a great stop to get all your convenience store essentials. However, the operational piece of this location is somewhat lacking and multiple times it made me rethink patronizing this location. Before going into my grievances, I want to recognize the good things. I like that there's ample parking. I drive an EV, so I don't need gas, so items a huge plus for me to pull up to the back parking lot and never have to navigate through the crowded gas pump area to find a spot. Love that! Next, the team here is nice and friendly. No complaints here whatsoever. They also have a self-checkout lane that is convenient and easy to use. Very quick in and out. Okay, now to what drives me nuts about this location. First- be sure to check the expiration date before you buy something here. Twice I've made purchases and got expired goods. One time for some milk and another for cheese and crackers. Never again- I'll always check from now on. Second, the smoothie machine is always broken. The smoothies are awesome- but there was a time when I came here like six times in a row and it was out of service every time. I asked an employee when it was going to be fixed and they said "tomorrow", and guess what- it wasn't fixed tomorrow or even days after that. Once it did get fixed, it was dispensing weird (like spilling over the cup), then the next day- the machine was BROKEN AGAIN! Oh and the one time the smoothie machine was working, they had no lids for the cups, so I used a Big Gulp lid that didn't fit and I looked like an absolute crazy person carrying around this drink with a giant lid. The whole time was was worried the drink was going to spill. Overall, it's great that this location carries a wider array of items, but the lack of attention to operations at the location will almost guarantee something will be amiss. There has to be a way to have the experience match the promise of this bigger, glitzy building. I honestly cannot recall a time I've been to this location where there wasn't some form of disappointment. Very Rude Hispanic Employee at Register... I told her I bought a Coffee and a Breakfast Sandwich and ots suppose to be Free Coffee with Sandwich but she pushes whatever Coffee she likes so I pay for everything and I told her I got the Coffee with the Machine that your manager was just cleaning and added ice to it and she pushes iced coffee and scans my Sandwich and total comes out to to over $8 when Coffee is suppose to be free. To make story short, she didnt know her job and just like another store pushes whatever button to make customer, who actually works for a corporate store, pay more than what it is suppose to be and who actually knows his job. I have to say despite all the not so amazing reviews for this location, I'm a fan. 7-Eleven and I have been BFFs lately due to my commute, so I am at one of their locations for gas and/or coffee AT LEAST once a week. If you have not been hip to the game on their new coffee selection...their 2.0 brew is pretty solid. Espresso is wonderful too. I got a horchata latte this AM and it was solid after my morning workout. Haven't tried the Laredo breakfast tacos but it is on the list as well. I think also maybe I have low expectations for this corporation in general due to the abundance of terrible 7-Elevens in my past. So I'm glad they are stepping it up and it shows. Folks at the counter seem overwhelmed and it is understaffed. If they could step it up in that arena I'll add a star back! Haha. But you guys have yourself a customer. This store is the WORST!!!! 7-11 is known for great coffee BUT every since they've started using those machines with the beans on top-- the coffee has went down hill. The coffee is TRASH!!! It's watered down more water then coffee, how does this store mess up the coffee that they were once famously known for?? I told the store Mgr (Mexican guy) and he acted like he could care less. Didn't try to help fix the issue or nothing. I threw my cup away and so did the lady next to me, if we wanted water we should buy water so I did. I bought water. Never again!!!!' What a complete disappointment! Bran new store and already looks run down and transient! So neglected! Didn't they think they would need a designated "House Keeper" to ensure the place is taken care of? Went in and used the restroom, totally trashed, nothing to dry your hands on and just filthy! WTH is the point of a 7-Eleven store that closes? Their entire reason for existence is to be open 24 hours, yet I pulled up to this one after passing one that appeared to be closed on Forest, and a guy told me hey, this store is closed. As if it weren't bad enough that the one on Ervay didn't have anything decent to eat and didn't have a bathroom, which a year ago I didn't know a 7-Eleven was allowed to not have a bathroom. Grew up with 7-Eleven being the most reliable place, and in the last year I have discovered that at least 2/3 of the 7-Elevens in Dallas are total crap. read more

This 7-Eleven is located at the corner of Preston and Alpha Road. Probably the most notable thing about this particular 7-Eleven is that they were the seller of one of the Texas Mega Millions tickets. In fact the person that actually sold the ticket still works here. Because of the location of this 7-Eleven it is very busy. They have a gas station as well as the convenience store. What they do not have is a very big parking lot. So if you come here expect a little chaos at most hours and especially the busiest commuter hours. The staff is always professional and friendly and moves people through very quickly. They have to be efficient at this location because this is one of the busiest locations of 7-Eleven that I have been too. It is an older store so do not expect all the fancy mess of some 7-Elevens newer locations but this is definitely a top notch location of a very popular franchise. read more

This is a fairly new store and has convenient electric vehicle charging stations, but the inside is nasty. Restrooms are constantly filthy, fountain drinks are always out of order. Staff doesn't seem to care, which seems to be infectious from management. I have used the restrooms several times while charging my EV and each time the restrooms are disgusting with feces all over the place. The cleaning cart is outside the restrooms but even that needs fumigating. The water for mopping is black and filthy. Food at the Taco Laredo attached is mediocre at best.
