I was a regular customer here since it was close to my job. I usually buy hotdogs but i doubt that their hotdog toppings were clean and fresh. They don't ask me if i want my receipt they immediately crumple it which makes me think they're over charging me. Upon check out i always cover my pin code as i know they have security cameras but one time i didn't and i just went there again to buy food for lunch and i received charges on my bank account being used online and in elk grove while i was in menlo park working 16 hrs. I didn't get my money back because my bank told me my physical card was used which annoys me even more because i have my debit card with me. Sometimes i work night and i see this indian guy always on the phone. Some of them makes you wait. Now i don't swipe my card i use apple pay if not a prepaid debit card but i have not visited any 711 since then. read more

I wish this was a funny review instead of a brief account of the top-to-bottom corruption that resulted in me filing a police report against one of the employees. I've lived near to this store for around 10 years, I was regular enough where I knew the names of a couple employees, including the store manager Adam. On one fateful night I stopped in for a bag of chips. I had a $10 bill and a $100 bill in my wallet. I thought I paid with the $10 bill but when I got home the tenner was there and the Benji was MIA. Steps I took too resolve: conversation with Adam, call to corporate, police report (required by corporate to review security tapes), call with store owner, then weeks of regular follow-ups with no action. I finally made progress by threatening to sue the owner in small claims court. The part that bothered me the most was that they didn't care at all that one of their employees was stealing from customers. So I guess stay away or maybe use a credit card. read more

This 7-Eleven location is key! It's right by the Menlo Park train station and walking distance from Menlo-Atherton High School and downtown Menlo Park. Whenever you need your slurpee, pretzels, lottery ticket scratcher, or chocolate fix, this 7-Eleven is just within reach. In high school, this 7-Eleven parking lot was the scene for an unfortunate event. We were participating in a scavenger hunt with some of our guy friends and had just picked up the cup of movie butter that was on our list. We then stopped at 7-Eleven for another item. When we were all settled back into the car, someone says, "hey, where is the cup of butter?" It turns out that the cup of butter was all over the brand new leather seats and all of our jeans. This location is like many other Seven Eleven that I've been to in that bay area. You have your standard food, drinks, snacks, and knick knacks. It could definitely be cleaner and less run down, but that's part of the Seven Eleven chain in my eyes. I would say that this location is very convenient since it is closer to the Menlo Park train station. This Seven Eleven store also has an Amazon locker which is useful for all the apartment residents nearby who do not want to leave their packages outside of their doors during the day. read more

I know that me writing a review of 7-11 is not really going to give anyone any news as to what to expect when passing through the sensor triggered doors, but I just love 7-11 for some reason. I know this literally goes without saying as it is a convenience store, but it's just so damn convenient. Did you just pour some charcoal in your grill, but then realize you are out of lighter fluid? Pow! 7-11's got you covered. Start doing some house cleaning and then run out of paper towels, but don't want to drive all the way to Target in your skanked up cleaning clothes? Boom! 7-11 has a roll to spare. On the way to the gym, but notice you forgot your water bottle? Booyakasha! 7-11 has plenty of sport top water bottles to keep your thirst quenched on the bike machine. I only come here at nights after 6pm. The older gentleman (never asked for his name, I just call him "my friend") is what make me happy to shop for stuff at this location. I never come here before then, due to the abhorrent customer service. The larger built Caucasian gentleman (no name tag, was just wearing a simple tie dye shirt at the time and looked unprofessional) took around 5-7 mins to ring me up with about 6 people deep to be checked out, didn't know what he was doing in the back. Very rude dude. Didn't say a single thing when he rang me up. I came by another time and same guy was working. Noticed all the coffee dispensers were bone dry, one was almost empty, but was cold. Instead of having to deal with him and his really uneasy demeanor I just left and went to Starbucks down the road. But it's not a complete deterrent! The older middle eastern friend is SUPER friendly and always calls the day time guy lazy. He even makes small talk which is a breath of fresh air compared to his colleague. Ps for you coffee drinkers. They have 40mg caffeine shots for your coffee. Just ask or look around they'll be there! read more

The older gentleman who works here is a nice guy. This isn't your typical 7-eleven who won't make pizza or hot wings late at night because they're too lazy. This guy will actually make it and be friendly about it. If you're like me and only go to 7-eleven for buffalo wings, this is the one. read more

My father is paralyzed and he gets off the train and his chair dies he is able to make it to 7/11 for assistance but they didn't want to help him Idk why Idk if it was because the time of night but all he asked was to use the phone they said if your not buying anything you need to leave but at that point his chair was completely dead they took that as a treat for some reason and called the police on him and we get a call at 3 am saying he needs assistance with Hos chair and we came I am grateful for Menlo pd not the rude safe way employees this happen over a year ago just writing my experience read more

To all the people complaining about bad customer service it's literally a 7-Eleven. It's a small convenience store with an honest selection of candy, snacks, food, a small amount of produce including milk and fruit, beer, etc... Also everyone who works there is super nice. If you want to walk into the store with the expectation that you're going to be treated like you were at the Left Bank half a mile away in downtown Menlo Park you're an idiot, as I said it's a 7-Eleven not a five star restaurant. But it's a great convince store that I've been going to for years with chill staff and really tasty slurpees. And I take my stoned friends there to get the taqitos all the time. read more

Love this 7-11 (right next to Menlo Park Caltrain station). Nothing fancy about this location, just your average 7-11 store. It's extremely convenient as it's right next to the Menlo Park Caltrain station, north side of the tracks. There's a Chase ATM inside btw, magazine rack, and Amazon lockers for gearheads. read more

This is specific to 525 Oak Grove Ave, Menlo Park, CA 94025. I only rated this store two stars due to it's convenience in proximity to where I live and CalTrain.This store has not been anything special but was adequate to fit our needs, even though it does not provide gasoline, is small, dingy and unkempt at times. I have shopped at 7-11 (s) since I was a small child... Usually a good experience: clean, quick, friendly. I just had one of the most upsetting customer "service" experiences. I had taken money out of my account to use to pay rent earlier in the evening. I walked to this location and asked for the money order and told him the amount. He looked at me sternly and said "how much?" I repeated myself. He rang it up, while I counted the money to make sure I had brought the correct amount. He took it and counted it while I grabbed the change out of my pants pocket. When he told me the total, I was puzzled. I had purchased a money order there last month and I believe the total was different. I said kind of casually "hmmmmm, the other guy only charged me $0.50) for it." He asked "who?" and I described the person to him. He rolled his eyes crossed his hands in an "he's out motion" that is normally done by a referee in a baseball game as he shouted " there is NO WAY! That did NOT happen!" I looked at him and said " what? are you calling me a liar? I'm just telling you what happened is all" He said " no I'm not gonna call you that now but there's no way that could happen"... By the time he finished I was definitely unhappy. I told him " if you are telling me that didn't happen to me and I am telling you it did then you are calling me a liar." This went on for several minutes. Back and forth and I was most definitely getting angrier as he continue to argue with me and raising his voice. There were obscenities involved and every time I walked out of the store to go get the "paltry $0.45 cents" for a "in passing kind of comment". Now, every time I walked out of the store, he would scream things at me through the window. I returned and asked him " excuse me? What did you say?" I had to ask two or three times. He would just stare at me. Again and again. There were words used that I will not repeat here. At one point, I asked him "Do YOU own this store? Again I am asking if you own this store?" He hesitated and became almost hostile: clenching his fists and pounding them up and down in the air like a child that did not get their way. He said "what does it MATTER if I own this store or NOT? This is MY watch and I am RESPONSIBLE FOR IT! Yes, by this time I am thinking as often as I have been IN this store, I am really trying to scam him out of FORTY-FIVE CENTS!! I am soooo done with this store. The disrespectful way he spoke and level of unprofessionalism. He really needs to learn how to speak to customers/differing cultures. Obviously I will NOT be returning. I do want to thank the young man that was always nice, friendly and well-groomed. If I see him, I will definitely send him "kiddos" (with no mention of this farce). I am happy I never treated a customer like this, accused them of something during all of my years in customer service/retail management. read more

I mean what can you really expect from 7-11. It's a quick stop kinda store. However it never fails when I come to this location somethings always seems to happen. Today was my last attempt at stopping here before work (it's literally 2 blocks from my job) I walked in to get coffee, chose my cup and started to fill it. However they ran out. But that's not my complaint. So here I am with the biggest cup that isn't even full. So I asked the older gentleman that works there "is it ok if I transfer this to a smaller cup since it's not full". First off he gave me that "are you stupid look" and then proceeded to say "I don't care". I mean at least I asked before I did it right.... He then said I ran out of coffee it's the afternoon. And here I come apologizing that he misunderstood me. But no. He said do you want me to go make more. No sir that wasn't what I was asking. Finally he got very rude and short with me and I just left. Let's just say I won't be coming back here. Id rather spend more money on going to Starbucks.. read more

There is a 7-Eleven at 525 Oak Grove St Menlo Park, CA 94025 I was there last night at 10:50 pm on August 29th. I saw they had Oreo cookes listed for $3.99 on the shelf, I was surprised because that's the price in the grocery store, and usually convenience stories have a mark up, so when brought them to the register the new price was $4.99. I informed the store manager that California has a bait and switch law which means that the price at the register can't be more than the price at the shelf. This law exists to prevent shop keepers from scamming customers. If the price on the shelf says $3.99 they have to sell it to me for $3.99 even if their register says it's $4.99 because that is California Law. When I told the manager about this law he tried to rip the price off the shelf, then he started shouting nonsense, saying stuff like "who do you think you are" at me, he was very rude. Right before he grabbed the price off the shelf I took photos of the shelf so that I could prove later that he was trying to hide from the law and prove that he was not selling his product at the price it was listed at on the shelf.When informed correctly about the law he tried to deceive me further by claiming incorrectly that the price tag was for another product if only I would read the fine print. which is very small.His bait and switch tactics of having a lower price tag on the shelf but at the same time having a higher price at the register serves to deceive unknowing shoppers, who might think they are buying items at a good price only to be surprised at the register.I hope this 7-Eleven chooses to comply with the law in the future. I seriously hope they are not intentionally doing bait and switch legal violations. If I were you I would stay away from this 711 because they didn't the morally right thing and comply with the law. Unless you are CBS or ABC and you want to do an under cover story about Bait and Switch violations and the store managers who refuse to follow the law when informed of the law. read more
