Came here to get flowers and cards for my coworkers for their birthdays (I always come here for this too). They had unloaded a pallet of the mini tote bags, which I wasn't interested in purchasing. I had walked up to the bin to pick up a bag to LOOK at it to see what the fuss was about when an employee aggressively holds her hand in front of the bag I'm reaching for and says, "HI, we'll hand them to you if you stand in the line". 1. Why are you being rude? 2. There wasn't a line anywhere AND I just witnessed people bum rushing and grabbing several bags before she even got there. I love Trader Joe's and it is my go to for grocery shopping. I have never been treated this way before and I've gone to several Trader Joe's around the Bay Area. This has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be returning. All over a silly, useless bag. read more

This is my local Trader Joe's and I come at least once a week! Well organized, friendly staff, decent product selection. I also feel like it's less frenetic - both inside the store and outside parking lot - than the San Carlos location. While I slightly prefer the Palo Alto location (because it feels like they have more in stock), this is a convenient location, no parking issues, and close to Starbucks/banks/Walgreens/etc for multi-tasking downtown. Staff also always picks up the phone and is nice enough when I call to ask about their totes (yes sorry I'm one of those). read more

This is by far my favorite TJ's (and I live close to three). The gentle Menlo Park neighborhood vibe is always there, and I love that. The only drawback is that the wine bar is now closed, and sources tell me that's permanent and it'll now be torn down to make room for more merchandise. No! The wine bar was a unique facet of this local asset, and I've missed it since it disappeared during Covid. It also had a wonderful manager, who truly had a passion for fine wines. Bring it back--don't destroy it. This is what makes you far superior to Whole Foods and Draeger's. The TJ's wine bar was one of the few remaining fabulous shooping experiences that make Menlo Park so fabulous. read more

The employee was a balding, white male with brown hair and glasses. This is my neighborhood Trader Joe's! It's not as overstimulating as the Palo Alto location, and I always have better luck here for fresh florals. The best bet is to go earlier in the day. I grabbed a few of the disco ball indoor plants, Japanese sweet potatoes, and wild salmon. Beauty Products: I love the new leave in hair conditioner I think it's a dupe for ouai. My favorite skin / hair care oils are here too (marula + argan). I've been collecting some of the cute tote bags too, and I always look forward to knew ones that come out. Never had to wait very long in line and everyone is very helpful and accommodating. They truly know how to make you feel like a person. read more

The prices are incomparable. The service cant be beat. The coolest items in the frozen and regular aisles and always a joy having to play find-the-seasonal-item and snagging our favorite items - pineapple juice, coconut milk, butter etc. Awesome all around, will definitely be coming back.! read more

This is a very nice TJ location in the Palo Alto area. It is well equipped as a TJ location should be for all your grocery needs. All staff are taking measures to fight COVID-19. All shopping carts are sanitized before use, so no worries there. The employees wear their face masks correctly and diligently. But for some reason something was amiss at this location. At first I thought it was the inconsistent produce (got a bad batch of grapes) but that wasn't it. Parking spots were pretty small without clear demarcation lining. The loading area is also open for everyone to see which somewhat destroyed the TJ neighborhood feel. And for some reason a few staff members were loud/yelling. Besides these issues, this is a pretty good location for all your usual TJ items. read more

What can I say? It's Trader Joe's!!! This particular location usually has a lot more stuff in stock compared to my local TJ's (Fremont). I have been able to get the hard-to-find seasonal items like the Turkeyless loaf, Ube Mochi Pancake Mix and things like that at this location. The employees here are super nice and love where they work. Like other locations, the employees are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their products and incoming products. The plant selection here is also pretty sweet! read more

This was truly the worst Trader Joe's experience I have ever had, and it is because two of the workers there were very rude and belittling. It started when I was happy to find some green produce bags for my produce, and the man stocking the bags spoke to me so disparagingly when he pointed to a set of produce bags I hadn't seen. Then when I was leaving the store, one of the handles to my paper Trader Joe's bags broke and my groceries spilled on the ground. I went inside and politely asked for a replacement bag since mine broke, and the worker just told me "you know those bags cost money." This is a nice TJ's in Menlo Park. It feels a little bigger than the one down the street in Town and Country. There was quite a lot of space near the front of the door which is unusual. There is a sizable parking lot here which is cool. I stopped by to grab some items and it was a breeze. I really like their "Hold the Cone" mini ice cream cones. They are the perfect size and you don't feel guilty eating one. Their frozen xiao long bao are also not bad too. The cashier was really nice too! read more

Good salad kits, cheese selections and sauces. Their milk is less expensive than Safeway and a good selection of fruit and vegetables. A lot of the frozen foods have a lot of sodium. I am glad that this Trader Joe's is here. Aside from the traffic that does not seem to let up at any hour of the day, this place has always had everything I needed. It really does remind me of being out in the island markets back home where everyone is looking for good, quality items. Their veggies and fruits are fresh, and the frozen ones are good too. I am a fan of the Trader Joe's frozen organic blueberries for smoothies. All the workers are at it, constantly stocking and fixing shelves-that way it doesn't look like someone just ravaged through and did not think of others on the way. I appreciate that each worker is always willing to help, and all of them are knowledgeable as to where you can find items if they cannot walk you there themselves. I love that they have the reusable bags hanging because it adds to the décor of the store, and you can see them better. I remember you had them at the registers and had to file through them to see ones you liked. Good move, Trader Joes. One of the best places to go in Menlo Park that has all you need for your home. I prefer this Trader Joe's most in the peninsula for having perceptibly less customer traffic over time. Don't get me wrong- it can get busy, but I feel as though I retain more of my personal space at this location versus other TJs. While I've noticed occasional supply limitations (particularly around the holidays) and, in my experience, less selection than other TJs, it has sufficient variety and reliability for regular grocery shopping that doesn't break the bank. This is a great TJ's -- courteous and wonderful employees, great selection, clean, and gives happy vibes. Great music! Better than my local TJ's in Campbell! Came in here today to pick up some good ish we need at home for the next few days and it was like walking into Anal-Neatfreak-Grocery-Store heaven! Everything is laid out so nicely and neatly, plus there's tons of space to maneuver your sweet tush around while shopping. There were NO lines whatsoever and it seems like this place doesn't get as cramped or busy as the one I normally hit up 2-3x a week (@ the Pruneyard in Campbell). Top 2 reasons why I love TJ's? 1. Sprouted Multi-Grain Bread! Best sandwich bread ever. I'm not a fan of white bread or any type of bread without the taste of whole wheat or grains in em, yes I know...this is the healthy side of me talkin. TJ's Sprouted bread tastes way better than Ezekiel bread and it's much more affordable. We go through these like there's no tomorrow. (Well, I'm only allowed 2 slices in the morn w/ my eggs, but for off season, I'll be sure to make more PB&J sammiches with these!) 2. Pre-washed and ready to cook brussel sprouts! Yes, I'm a fan of brussel sprouts! So what?! For $1.99 a bag, these make a great side dish to my lean protein for my last meal of the day. I don't know how it's hunsnely possible that this store constantly has rotten produce that's it's either semi rotten/getting there or it will be rotten once it arrives home. Such low quality produce it's unbelievable. Will never come back here again for produce. The rest of the usual trader Joe selection is standard here and fine. I grew up in RWC most of life, so I've had the option of going to the Belmont location or the MP one. I always opted to go to Belmont, but going to the MP for the first time...I gotta say this one is my favorite. When I lived in Willow Glen, I've visited the ones in San Jose and Campbell but this Menlo Park one seriously has the employees and for some reason I like the layout of the store better. Sure, they all look identical but there are small details that I've noticed here that makes me appreciate this location a bit better than the others. I have been shopping here at Trader Joe's for many years. Recently they have completely remodeled their store and have now included a winetasting area for adults over 21. I stumbled upon this wine tasting area today and was very pleasantly surprised at not only the quality of the Sauvignon Blanc that I tasted but the price also. $7.99 a bottle for Fountain Grove Sauvignon Blanc. Michael was extremely knowledgeable and over-the-top friendly and accommodating. A great employee and representative of Trader Joe's. I purchased four bottles. Every Monday evening after I take Luis (my nephew) to speech therapy, we always stop by the Trader Joe's-Menlo Park,CA to stock up on food for the week. Not a visit goes by where the employee's greet him with such warmth, answer his questions/help him find something, assist in letting him bag his own groceries, and his personal favorite, the stickers he always gets! Today was no different, but it was an extra special day, as he got to ring up his items on the 'money machine.' For weeks, he's been talking about working at Trader Joe's one day, so you could imagine his excitement when 'Esteban' asked him if he wanted to help him ring up the items. I wanted to cry watching him 'work', as I worry about the role he will play in society as a working adult with cerebral palsy. So to the staff at Trader Joe's in Menlo Park, thank you for always making sure our little warrior feels accomplished grocery shopping for himself. It's a simple task to all of us, but today I found a huge sense of comfort and relief in knowing that he's going to be perfectly fine with whatever pathway he decides to pursue as an adult. read more

Shame on Menlo Park, Trader Joe's for having such an ugly hearted, mean spirited team member or unbelievably evening supervisor, Diana/Dianna. Good help is apparently getting harder to find. This huge ordeal resulting over a $5.00 plant was unnecessary which is why I did not argue with this foolish unprofessional lassie, I gave her a pass and presented it in the most appropriate forum I know Yelp. See below. Diana is untruthful, rude with a bad attitude and she has quite the mouth on her. Please curtail her before her behavior and actions lands Trader Joe in trouble on a larger scale I purchased items including a jade plant on 01/13/22 that was left inside the basket instead of being placed in the bag like the other items. I called the store and spoke with apparently Diana who first denied having seen the plant then admitted it was there with a hat after my probing further. I asked her to (uncover the plant from the green produce plastic bag) and that I would come for it but not today. Next day, I came to get my plant Diana presented to me with an attitude from hell stating that she put it back because I did not come when I said I would that night which was a blantant lie. Diana further attempted to argue to with me about who beared fault of my leaving without my plant. After refuting her claims, I walked outside to find the the particular plant to no avail, I found another one passed by Diana and went to the first check stand to pay for additional items. As the cashier and I were small talking, Diana interrupted our conversation by yelling "is everything alright over there" to the casher who was baffled as to what was transpiring. Why wouldn't everything be alright? I do not appreciate being lied on, wrongly chastised and harassed at the desk and then at the cashier area by Diana who is surprisingly a supervisor who apparently has a habit of speaking and behaving in this beligerent matter to particular customers but I will not have it. I don't argue with fools. Diana who, in my opinion, appears and behaves much like an drug addict or mentally distressed person waiting to blow on a customer (and it would not be a first at this store). You are on notice Menlo Park Trader Joe's! I brought items, requested a bag so all items should have been placed in the bag. Also, purchased items should not have been returned to stock in less than 24 hours before being claimed. I should not have been subjected to the hostility, arguing and harassment at my retuning for my item from your angry, poor excuse for a first point of contact, supervisor at Trader Joe's.
