They also had some tables outside, but it was too cold for me. I ordered a hot banana caramelized latte, which was so amazing. It really hit the spot. Didn't really have to wait too long which was kind of nice since I had a reservation at john muir.

Not for people watching (go to their Miller Ave location for…read morethat), & not because the drinks are somehow better here or anything; Equator drinks are consistent throughout all of their locations. It's THIS particular location... On CA-1 in Mill Valley, it's so conveniently on the way to downtown Mill Valley, Stinson Beach, Point Reyes...etc, etc. But regardless of where you're going, stopping in here feels like you're on vacation. Beach/ocean/surf culture. The vibe is a thousand percent beach hut/surf shop, even with no actual beach in sight. How charming is that? Somehow browsing surfboards, even when you don't surf, assuages that unfulfilled dream, or fuels your standing wanderlust. Did you know that Thomas Keller serves Equator coffee at all of his properties? They partnered up 25 years ago, & equator even does special blends at certain TK restaurants. Even though Equator is available at grocery stores now, you should still come here. 5 star coffee in another 5 star location

It was a tad bitter for me, (definitely a me problem) but the barista was super nice and was able to pour a bit more milk in my drink. Now its perfect for me. :) The atmosphere was super chill too! I was asked by 2 different baristas if I had "really" asked for it iced. I understand the frustration of having to redo something but the way it was approached was disappointing. Once I received the coffee it was okay. I had come with others who did not like the hot mocha. Very little chocolate flavoring. The allergen friendly options were disappointing. They had several but they all had multiple allergens and were stored together. There was an almond cookie, walnut brownie and a sesame pastry all stored within the same container. As someone with allergies that cannot have cross contamination having all of the options in the same case was upsetting. I cannot have sesame and someone else I was with has a nut allergy while also being gluten free. The atmosphere was quiet. There were several regulars asking where people were traveling from and a nice back patio to enjoy the coffee. It was a beautiful town to walk around but for the future I will check out another one of the available coffee shops on the same block.

I ordered the giant cinnamon roll and a large oatmeal cookie to take on the road. Unfortunately, neither lived up to my expectations. The cinnamon roll was more like plain bread with very little cinnamon flavor or frosting, and the oatmeal cookie tasted more like flour than oats or spices. As an SF native who's tried a lot of great bakeries, this one just didn't stand out. I really wanted to love it because the setting is so relaxing and beautiful, but the baked goods fell short for me.

Locals with their dogs walk here, and mingle with the out-of-towners, hikers, and bicyclists who all enjoy a quality cup of coffee or other drink, paired with fancy pastries or select lunch items. Their seasonal drink menu is always worth a try; turmeric or matcha or cacao are always a good match with the Equator-roasted beans, purchased and shipped direct from sustainable and family farms. There is select seating inside, additional benches outside, and an abundance of seating across the street at the Depot, where summer music festivals and farmers market booths are known to occasion. It's quite crowded in the shop itself with both people waiting for their drinks and people enjoy enjoying their drinks, so I opted to take mine to go and walk around town.

But once you get the hang of it, it works out okay. Equator has an assortment of casual fare that you order and are given a number. I came here for breakfast and sat outside on the patio. They do have seating indoor as well, but it being a lovely day, it's always nice to eat al fresco. These seats are indeed coveted, especially on the weekends. The day I was here, a woman had beef with me because I only had coffee and didn't have a number (indicating that I had ordered food). Not go to into too much detail, but we kindly told her that these seats are for everyone. I did end up ordering food a few minutes later, was given a number for the table, and tried their veggie omelette ($13), which was delicious. Featuring goat cheese, kale, poblano chile, red bell pepper, roasted potatoes & ciabatta toast, it was just the right amount. I felt like waving my number in that lady's face, but I have more tact and class than that. Anyway, would come back here again, number or no number.

The vibe is chill, no false pretense airs - down to earth, welcoming you in to stay for a while. The coffee is spectacular with selections of flavor options true to their description including The Habibi Latte ($6.25) the Caramelized Banana Latte ($6.50) and the Strawberry Salted Honey Latte ($6.75). On my first visit, I ordered online for store pickup, The Habibi Latte ($6.25) 16 oz ($0.50) with Ghost Town Oat Milk ($0.25), Tigerwalk espresso ($0), double shot (default) in a disposable cup ($0.25). This latte has flavors of orange blossom, cardamom, clove and vanilla syrup. The Habibi Latte was velvety with the flavors of spice and a hint of orange lingering on the tongue. The milk was steamed perfectly, ready to sip and enjoy at the perfect temp. On my second, I ordered at the cafe counter then walked over to the coffee house to pick up my order. The young man at the counter had a beautiful aura, very friendly and engaging - I was grateful the online ordering was not accepting orders, otherwise I would had missed out on this experience. My order this round was the Caramelized Banana Latte ($6.50) 16oz ($0.50) with Ghost Town Oat Milk ($0.25), Mexico Pluma Oaxaca espresso ($0.50), Extra single shot ($1.25) with the default double shot in a disposable cup ($0.25). The profile is house made banana spice syrup. It reminds me of a banana foster, delicate with a pronounced balanced flavor. The drink is creamy, with a Caramelized banana flavor lingering on the tongue - so satisfying. The banana is far from overpowering, complimenting the caramel notes. I purchased a couple bags of beans, hoping to relive the essence of Sausalito Equator coffee at home.
