As new customers who recently moved to the area, we shopped at ShopRite in Bethpage twice, and…read moreunfortunately, both visits left us disappointed with the checkout experience. During our first visit on a Monday afternoon, the store was fairly busy. When we reached the checkout, the cashier offered no greeting, no communication, and rushed our order through the register. What surprised us most was that there was no assistance with bagging our groceries. Having worked in the supermarket industry myself, I found the lack of customer service and basic courtesy disappointing. We left the store confused about whether customers are expected to bag all of their own groceries, as no one explained the process. Because of that first experience, we assumed this was store policy and were prepared to bag everything ourselves during our second visit. This time, the cashier was somewhat friendlier and at least greeted us, but the checkout process felt very rushed. We had 43 items and were actively bagging our groceries while my wife completed payment. Before we had finished organizing and bagging our purchase, another customer was directed to the checkout lane behind us and began moving our items aside to make room. The customer appeared frustrated, and the situation made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Once again, there was no assistance from the cashier and no explanation of how customers are expected to manage bagging while the next order is already being processed. What made the experience even more frustrating was observing several employees elsewhere in the store appearing to have free time while customers at the front end were struggling to keep up with the checkout process. If the store's policy is for customers to bag their own groceries, that should be clearly communicated. If it is not the policy, then additional assistance at checkout would greatly improve the customer experience. We understand that retail is challenging and that stores must operate efficiently. However, customer service, communication, and courtesy still matter. Based on our first two visits, the checkout experience felt impersonal, rushed, and unnecessarily stressful. We hope management will review the front-end operation and consider ways to make the checkout process more welcoming and customer-friendly for both new and returning customers.

Doughnuttery is set up as a large kiosk/pop up inside Roosevelt field mall. The doughnuts are really small, about the size of a munchkin. They are fried right in front of you ... you see the dough frying in a lazy river of hot oil. You get to pick from a large selection of sugary seasoning to flavor your donut. I'm inclined to say that since Starbucks is a chain franchise, they are the same in and out. That statement is not true here. I found this Starbucks to be immaculate with a pleasant atmosphere and exceptional customer service leading the way at the moment of entering the facility. I was given acknowledgement quickly with a pleasant tone. There are some changes since I last visited any Starbucks a while ago. One change is the morning bun was no longer available, so I ordered a French Vanilla drip coffee and a bacon, gouda & egg. It really hit the spot, and the French Vanilla coffee was a fulfilling accompaniment. The other change I notice is that they did not put the tip on the app. The put it on the reader and tell you to finish the order by answering what is on the screen. I see that jester to be tenacious and aggressive. It was very annoying to be put on the spot like they should make mention that you need to leave a tip but without saying, LEAVE A TIP. I understand that everyone needs extra but to be coerced to read something asking for a tip is way out of order. IMO!! But still, this is one of the better Starbucks! Inspire more, Yelp more.
