I refilled an empty Big Gulp cup, which usually costs between $1.49 up to $1.99 depending on what store you go to! A simple yes would've been good but she proceeded to take it the wrong way and she said she just doing her job and if she doesn't like it she can come back when there's an employee working there that isn't her. 7-Eleven. The trusty Go-To Convenience Store for quick food and snacks, beverages, fuel and more. The name 7-Eleven is derived from their hours - 7am to 11pm, seven days a week. However a lot of 7-Eleven stores, including this one are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. One aspect that is consistent among all 7-Eleven stores is there's always a self-serve soda fountain, self-serve coffee station, and of course the iconic self-serve frozen drink: The SLURPEE®. Their most popular menu items include: the SLURPEE® drink, the BIG GULP® and now something called the BIG BITE®. They have pretty much everything you need here when on the go. They don't call it a convenience store for nothing. Sure the prices of snacks and alcohol beverages can be a bit on the high side when compared to other stores, but you are paying for the convenience of picking up something quickly while you fuel up your vehicle or if you simply do not have the time to wait in a line at a grocery store or big box store. You are not here for the quantity and you certainly aren't here for the quality. In my 20's this was my go-to-place for a cheap and quick cup of coffee. They had so many flavors of creamers and a variety of marginally decent Colombian coffee. However I was there the other day and the coffee was just okay. Not as much selection as I once remembered and pretty pricey when I could easily get a cup of coffee for a $1.00 at the McDonald's across the street from them. I occasionally like going here when the gasoline is not priced too high and for the occasional, just-for-fun lottery ticket. I have had luck with the lottery tickets I've purchased from here. I'm not a hard-core gambler but I like to buy a lottery ticket on occasion. About half of the lottery tickets I've purchased from here are winning tickets. I'm talking about a couple bucks winnings here and there and/or a free ticket. Like I said it's just-for-fun. I have noticed that a lot of people purchase lottery tickets here so I believe the odds of winning are raised due to the high volume of lottery ticket purchases. The last time I was there I noticed that they are taking the "convenience" aspect of their store to the next level by stocking their store with gifts like flowers, stuffed animals, and toys for a special someone that you just didn't have the time to purchase a well thought out gift for. This store has a selection of sandwiches, snacks, and even pizza but I don't trust the freshness of the refrigerated and "hot" food served here. They try to sell them off with really good deals but it's still not enough to entice me. There is a "RedBox" DVD rental machine outside of this 7-Eleven as well as propane for sale. There also an ATM inside. This 7-Eleven is situated on a very busy corner of the number one shopping center in the small town of Watsonville. It also appears that despite the "no loitering" signs, it is a hangout for the homeless. So be prepared to encounter someone asking for money. The staff are okay customer service-wise. Keeping in mind the volume of business and the riff-raff that hangs out nearby, I say that they are doing their best in a unpleasant situation and busy location. The cleanliness of the store is also questionable. I always see the floor dirty and scuffed up but as mentioned earlier, it is a busy store and is always open so there is not a whole lot of time for deep cleaning. I have never been more disrespected or violated at a convenience store than on the last Wednesday in June 2022. I had some leaky fruit out front that the manager let me know was making a mess, so I kindly went out and moved the leaky bag and rinsed down the walkway and used a piece of cardboard to squeegy the water. The "Manager" comes out and doesnt even consider the favor i just did her and screams at me if I used one of theyre bottles of water for said job. I kindly offered to pay for the bottle of water and the Manager at this point was on one track "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY STORE I KNOW YOUR KIND. She had also pulled a pepper spray bottle out and was aiming it at me. I never once raised my voice or touched any of the workers and was not agressive. When I went back in to the store because I never got time to get what I had come for, with a twenty dollar bill in hand btw. So this time I remained calm and told her I had forgot to get something. She comes over very agressive with pepper spray aiming once again at me only this time SHE FUCKING SPRAYS ME IN THE FACE, saying "ha that will give you little taste." I came into this location on 7/11/15 around 7pm with my son because today was free slurpee day and he recently had been a very sweet brother to his younger sister and i wanted to reward him. When we entered this location I immediately noticed something was off. The floors in every direction were filthy and the shelves were in disorder. I was slightly concerned that they may not be doing the free slurpees because there was no signage that I'm use to seeing at just about all other locations. When i found the slurpee machine there were two kids standing at the machine partially filling cups and then drinking what they had just filled. They would then repeat this several times with all the flavors a few times before finally filling a cup full and leaving. At this time i noticed there was no small (free) cups left. I asked the nearest clerk about the cups and was directed to use the small coffee cups. So we got out slurpees and headed to the register. I had just read the mass email send out from 7-11 informing me to "Be sure to scan the 7-Eleven app to get a punch for your FREE Slurpee and get even closer to your free 7th cup". However, the clerk at the counter insisted that i could not scan the app unless i paid for the slurpees. I informed her that i received an official email that says otherwise. She still refused to scan my app. I didnt want to raise a huge fuss so i just said forget it and left. As i walked to the door i heard the clerk insult me by calling me an idiot. Wtf!? She obviously was in the wrong and refused to even listen to me or treat me with the most basic respect a customer should receive. Whatever. I'm obviously not going to that location again. For the most part I like this store. It is very large and nicely organized. There are also a lot of coffee options and a great variety of creamers. Lots of great goodies to choose from and I like the employees who are very efficient and friendly. My issue is with the cigarette pricing. I saw a variety of camel cigarettes advertised in store at $6.45 per pack when you buy 2 or more packs. When charged I realized the price was too high even factoring in tax. My total was $15.21 which means if I was charged the correct amount I would have been taxed 2.31$ which is way too high for $12.90 I tried to tell the cashier but to no avail she just thought the high amount was due to tax. I looked at my receipt and saw the subtotal was $13.92 and the tax $1.29 Many customer would get upset and never bother to step foot in the doors again. I however believe in 2nd chance and will gladly make the same purchase again giving 7-11 the chance to rectify the situation and I will gladly write another review when I do and report my findings. read more
