He was very informative, huge about checking my temp and cleaning the facility. Everyone in the building was very friendly and fun to talk to! Very clean and professional spot, but, wayyy too overpriced for what they do. I got a tiny type writer font tattoo done as my first, and someone at their other location told me $100, fine. There was a mix up though so I had to go to the Jersey City location and my tattoo was hiked up to $120 (not including tax but you know that can't be helped.) by the artist Claro for no real reason. It ended up being crooked and he was heavy handed. Luckily it fits the theme of my tattoo in a sense but jeez, that was ridiculous. Since then, I've only gone to this spot for piercings and they are decent enough at those. (All though, the piercer gave me low grade jewelry for a healed piercing and had the nerve to tell me 'Were trying to get rid of these.' So you give them to me?) So I'd say think about going here unless you simply have the money/know who your artist/piercer is. read more

Scam!! This is a chain of 4 places. They exploit young people with dream of becoming tattoo artist and scam them for money. First they ask you to sign up for a workshop which cost almost 400 dollars and said to guarantee you an apprenticeship and future job but in reality they just want more of your money. I have never heard of any place where you have to pay to be an apprentice. And it will cost you about $12000!! I have nothing but high praises and love for Body and Soul Tattoo, but even more pride wearing Oksana Weber's art on my canvas. This was my first tattoo with Oksana and my fifth tattoo to add to my canvas. Super clean work space and plenty of beautiful art on display. I really love the sugar skull stormtrooper helmets. Oksana was very friendly and professional. Oksana's line work is truly the best. The best artist I've experienced and seen. Terrible experience. I'll preface this by saying this was my third tattoo here. First was a Friday the 13th special, so it's tough to gauge them that way. Second was with a former artist who moved on to open her own shop. When they mentioned that the place was terribly run, I should've listened. I came in with my own artwork. A 2.5" by 2" drawing. The artist, whose name I will not mention because I'm not going to shame him on here, said he had time for me and then a friend of mine a few hours after me. It was 1:45. He had an appointment for 2:30. He stenciled it on me, got everything set up, put me in position on the table, and had the needle to my leg when he stopped, looked up, and said, "It's going to be *thinks a moment* $400." I will fully admit I should've asked for a price before sitting down, but I never in a million years thought these guys would gouge me. Not wanting to embarrass myself and the people I was with, I let him continue. When I left, I told a friend how much I paid. He went in separate from me and asked how much the artist typically charges per hour. The woman that runs the shop said, "$175-$225 an hour, depending." I have some tattoos. I understand that there is a minimum price, and that price is typically the hourly price. Note, this was MY artwork. He did nothing but stencil is on and tattoo me for half an hour, tops. When they were approached by my friend, they had nothing but BS to say. The shop manager called the owner and showed him a picture of my now wrapped tattoo, covered in plasma and blood and not even really visible. The owner said, "It's a $400 tattoo." And then the shop manager went on to tell me they've been having problems with artists not being up front with their price. But refused any kind of refund or credit or anything like that. Inflation sucks. I expect to pay a little more for some things. And I respect the tattoo craft way too much to want anything at a discount. But to take advantage of your clients is gross. I'll don't like to leave crappy reviews, but I'll be spreading the word about how terrible 7 Souls has gotten. And I'll be sure to take my business elsewhere/back to the person who left the shop to open her own. Who, 2.5 years ago, charged me $400 for a 6"x6" coverup of HER OWN CUSTOM ARTWORK. I'd give 0 stars if I could, off of customer service alone. So I originally called on a Saturday their 2nd location and it was closed. Called the other location and spoke to a woman on the phone just confirming they were open and walk ins were good for a piercing. She told me yes. We get there and honestly it wasnt even so much that they didn't do piercings on the weekend and I had just wasted a trip but moreso how the workers inside all acted like I was an a**hole for even walking into their shop asking for one (sarcasm). When I mentioned that I had called beforehand, all of them just stared stupidly at me and questioned if i had the right number. I confirmed I had and it had been only 15 minutes prior. They just continued to play dumb and stared at each other like deers in headlights. I also told them that their yelp page which is very much up to date and even has check in offers... didn't say anything about certain services only being available on certain days and a girl behind the counter who clearly could've cared less just shrugged her shoulders at me and gave a you're sh*t outta luck kid gesture. I'm not mad I didn't give this place my business at the end of the day, it looked dusty and unkept inside and the staff seemed uninspired as is, so no shocker they weren't the friendliest or helpful. A proper response would have been something like offering a discount if I had came back during the week since their staff or associating websites weren't exactly clear. But obviously that effort would be too much for them.. They had zero customers when I came in in the afternoon on a weekend, meanwhile Jersey City tattoo across the street was packed and much more obliging... let that speak for itself. read more

We talked back and forth about my tattoo design and she brought my idea to life -- better than I could've imagined! We met over two sessions and I'm absolutely in love with the tattoo. Amazing!!!!!!! The first time I came here was to get a mountain tattooed on my shin. Anastasia hooked it up!!!!! She made me feel incredibly comfortable from the second I walked in. She forewarned me of the pain from getting ink in that area and really ran with my idea. She NAILED it !!!!! She drew up the mountains from scratch in minutes and I was completely floored. Girls got talent. We kept repositioning t and she didn't mind bc she wanted to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it the entire time. She did it in a couple hours flat. She even made a sunset with colors behind the mountains which I love love love. I went back about a month later to get another set of mountains on my other shin but with a sunrise. I honestly don't know which one I love more because they're both amazing pieces of art. She was patient, kind, and super entertaining the entire time. I highly recommend checking her out.
