We have been here for occasions on and off since they originally opened and the food is still good to this day. Was here recently on July 2 ordered a variety of things and was happy with all of them. From the potatoes with mushrooms to the eggplant everything was delicious. Beef carpaccio was just as good as the tartare. Steak was cooked to the correct temperature. Was here for a banquet the other day and I got to say they give so much food. The place is a little loud and crammed but overall it was a great experience and they are very accommodating. I have so many favorite dishes from the banquet that is a must try... Potatoes with mushroom: potatoes were crispy and the it was just the right amount of saltiness. Pelmeni with Creamy Garlic Sauce: this was like little dumplings in heavy cream, very good. Love the flavor and it wasnt too heavy. Baked Salmon: this has to be the best salmon I have ever had... it was so soft and it didnt taste fishy.... Had a lot of different spices to it Chicken/Pork Kebab: I definitely enjoyed the pork over the chicken... the chicken had a bit of fat Prime Rib: the steak was cooked to the perfect temperature and the sauce complimented it so well. I really enjoyed my experience at 718 Bistro. It's a small restaurant so there's no dancing but they do have banquet dinners. I came for a birthday so it was a very large party and the service was excellent. On a Saturday night it was packed and I was very impressed with how attentive and organized the staff is. As with any banquet menu, some items are better than others and there's always plenty of food. I enjoyed the smoked fish platter (lox was so good), salo was definitely a star, the salads were fresh, and I liked the grilled salmon entree. Potatoes were great too. Well, well, well... Friends recommended this place. The weather was bad and the restaurant was almost empty. It was my husband's birthday and I stressed on it when making reservation. Interior was ok. Food was tasty and presentation was nice. But... service should be seriously revised. After food was served we were completely abandoned and forgotten. Nobody checked on us. I had a great time here at 718 Bistro. The place is very great for family and large groups. I like the decor as well, it feels like you're at a catering hall rather than a restaurant. Very intimate. I was surprised to learn that they don't serve any adult beverages BUT this place allows you to bring your own drinks and they provide the glasses. They had wine glasses and shot glasses and we just purchased our own drinks at a nearby liquor store to have with our dinner. I had the classic shrimp which is an appetizer but could be classified as an entree. It was GOOD! I had the shrimp grilled and my friend had the same classic shrimp but with the white sauce. I kept dipping my shrimp in their sauce! It was good and complimented the shrimp. The salmon was also very good! And so was dessert. For dessert, we had the chocolate molten lava cake served with vanilla ice cream. Yum! The place is clean, prices are fair and staff is accommodating. Check them out! read more

Came into dine this past Sunday evening and took advantage of their outdoor seating. Ordered a chicken dish of white meat but was given a different chicken dish. This would have been fine as these things happen but was disappointed at the servers response - instead of offering to replace it for the correct order, which I confirmed when ordering, I was told I could, graciously, pay for the correct order to go and enjoy it later, and was ensured that both plates were the same price so it's not like I spent more than I had planned to. Went to 718 Bistro for lunch and was not impressed. I'll start of by saying that some of the food was fresh. And it was mediocre. This is my second time there. The first time I was not so impressed but decided I'd give it another try. Was excited to have a different food choice so close to my house. Wanted to give it a chance. Ordered: - Greek salad- probably the only thing I liked. Vegetables were fresh. Lacked salt but that's okay. - Avocado salad- we asked for no onions because my friend didn't want onions thinking it was a salad. It was not. It was guacamole in avocado shells. They brought it with onions anyway. They should just write that it's guacamole and there were A LOT of onions. Too much for my liking anyway. They also should have added chips since it was a guacamole. - Vegetarian Trio- the hummus was bland. The "matbucha" was too. I don't know why they would even make Mediterranean dishes if they don't make them well. I thought this was a "European" place For main dishes we went with the "Sea" option. We had the salmon and the Branzino. The Branzino was not good at all. Mediocre, dry, burnt skin. The fish was not fresh. Seemed as though it was frozen to preserve the fish and then "grilled". I say "grilled" because it was burnt. And the seasoning on the fish was just some pepper. More like a pepper overkill. But what bothered me was how dry it was. The only good part was the mashed potato. The salmon was okay. I'm not a fan of salmon in general but my friends are and said the salmon was OKAY. The rice that went with the salmon was hard and not cooked well. Decor is very nice. And it is very clean. The ambience is good, the service is good. What I liked about the service was that they were very attentive and cleaned the table and plates periodically. However, don't like that they add a 10% gratuity automatically. Even though it was 6 people. But because of service I added an extra star. Food wise- I would have given it 1 star. Will not be returning. read more

We came here on a Monday night and it was completely empty. It was kinda awkward and we thought of leaving but decided to give it a try. The interior has a modern theme and completely brand new. The staff is friendly, helpful and accomodating. We started off with an eel appetizer and it was very nicely presented and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the salmon and duck were overcooked and very dry. We were also surprised that it took a long time for the food to come out since it was only us in the restaurant. I cant imagine the waiting time if the restaurant was full. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would come back but will make sure to request less cooking time. read more

We celebrated my baby's 1 year old birthday here and had truly amazing time. The owner was super accommodating and the staff was top notch! We had entire place to ourselves! The food was amazing and delicious...the waiters were on top of their game! Head waiter Slava was the best! Everything was so good; that our American friends were in shock from the non stop delicious food and our Russian friends actually booked their son's christening party! We came back a month later, today, to celebrate the christening party and although we shared the restaurant with 2 other parties, Slava was still doing great by taking care of our table and all the guests! When we entered, I was in shock that in the middle of a pandemic, the site worked with 100% capacity; more than half of the people were not wearing the masks while going in and out to smoke it going to the restroom--just a disaster. The food was ok. Escargots were worth trying, a regular Ceaser salad. I tried there to try-on beef Wellington; such a joke! The chef just destroyed a piece of meat; he needs to look into the original receipt of this dish, rather than just put a half-boiled/half-baked beef piece in the puff pastry. We live locally and so far, our go to haunt has been a toss up between Vis a Vis and Wise Espresso bar. For those who find themselves walking more north of the beach and looking for an amazing cup of coffee (served properly with lumps of either brown or refined sugar, a nice touch) or fresh baked bread that still may toast your palate if you rush it. We felt compelled to leave a review as a couple that want to support only the best local businesses. As such, we found 718 to be a massively pleasurable experience for dining, as the atmosphere is a mixture of simple, yet tasteful color tones. There isn't a central theme to the decor, except for modern, and airy. As for the food? We started this first attempt with the Mushroom Barley and Tomato Basil, an Americano for the coffee, and pleasant to see is that when we request something as simple as a water with two lemons, no ice, exactly what was ordered is brought promptly and served with the lemons separately. May not seem like a big difference, but when you have a 20+ person party, you want to make sure the staff and food are the highlight of the night, not the subject of debate. A surprising gem o discovered in Brooklyn. For a place that looks like a stylish coffee shop, the place has a huge menu with all kinds of fish and meet etc. alongside great salads etc. The service is really good. I was able To combine lunch and after that spent a couple of hours working on my laptop. Nobody came or hinted that I should leave etc. servers were smiling and respectful. This place is new in neighborhood first time we came here with my husband cause its really close to us . We tried the breakfast and just fall in love in a first side , than we brought 2 more people in next week and try more food , it was so delicious and it's not just me everyone love it . Food is really fresh u can feel every taste . We got a lot of food : mushroom soup were amazing , meat soft and yummy , oh yea and hot appetizer mushroom with crab meat melted in our mouth . Have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. A friend has been recommending this place for the longest time and at first it seemed generic from the outside and the decor was simple, but the food and the service were On Point! One of the better duck salads that I've eaten in all of NYC, very flavorful and fresh (I always judge a restaurant by their duck :)), on a Monday no less. There were a couple of misses, the foie gras was flavorful but sadly not fully deveined. The pork schnitzel was prepared as a very thin and crispy fillet, resembling chicken fingers. There was a big party at the table next to us, and they were screaming and yelling and singing at the top of their lungs. No one cared. No one told them to be quiet. Everyone had to suffer because of this one table. Further, the prices are very high, but the portions are pretty small. Food presentation is five stars. Everything on my plate looked appetizing. I got two small bread rolls that were still warm which was a great touch. The rolls tasted okay, not the freshest, but warming them up was definitely a good idea. While the food looked great, the taste was lacking. Chicken was very dry and over cooked, I had to take constant sips of water to get it down. Mashed potatoes also dry and very crumbly. They were fried as the top is slightly crispy, however inside is pretty disappointing. I wish the menu would have specified that mashed potatoes were fried. I just celebrated my 35th birthday party here last Saturday, and it was absolutely amazing. I had ordered the $95 banquet menu, and there was SO much food. It just kept coming and coming, and everyone left stuffed. Literally everything that was brought out was amazing, and we had so much food to take home too. Service was great, waitress was very good, sweet, and attentive. The Napoleon cake that they gave for dessert was some of the best I've ever had. We had a reservation at the upscale restaurant in the city which got unexpectedly cancelled and decided to give this new place a try. Definitely were not disappointed! Very nice place with pleasant, courteous and welcoming stuff and great menu full of all kinds of different dishes to pick from. Ambiance is also a top notch from the decor to the pleasant music playing in the background. Food was delicious, portions were huge especially considering very decent prices. We really enjoyed our visit and were even glad that our reservation at the other restaurant got cancelled. Coffee and deserts were superb and we were told that it was done on the premises.
