The station had a convenience store, which was well stocked and very clean. There didn't seem to be any trouble makers hanging around, and the surrounding neighborhoods are quiet and calm. I bought a bottle of water and filled up with $30 of gas (good thing for lower gas prices). The attendant there was nice, although some of the conversation was lost in translation. Negatives here: Too often when I come here, the pumps are stopped (shut down) for long periods of time and I can't fuel up. Homeless and beggars will watch you and wait until you start pumping and come up to you and ask for money and they got you where you can't walk away. Some have been very aggressive and will not leave and keep asking you for money even if you ignore them or say no. They know the trick to get you when you can't leave. The attendants inside will not help you--you are on your own. Always be aware of your surroundings when fueling here--lock car doors when you are outside your car pumping.

Today's total was close to a nearly upscale dinner and a movie back in pre-pandemic days. Is what it is. All I wanted was gasoline, no frequent customer rewards or other such deals, just gasoline. Too many prompts, too much glare on the pump's screen made my, what used to be a simple transaction, difficult. I'm not spoiled, a bougie Karen. I know how to pump self serve gas, complete the transaction. (I'm not afraid to get dirty either. Can do a DIY oil change, check tire pressure, change one if necessary, even assisted my ex in rebuilding an engine! His Apple Pay purchase failed (not sure why, but I'd assume for fraud protection typical for gas stations and convenience stores ) and the cashier said "It didn't work". My son showed his screen to show the money was deducted with the purchase was shown as pending. The cashier initiated a cold and rude exchange by telling him "It didn't go through for us, so you get nothing. Put the drink down." My son's friends stepped in to explain that it deducted his money, but I told them to avoid the back and forth and leave. The transaction eventually reversed and my son got his money back. But I can't understand why my sweet, eloquent, nerdy kids would be spoken to with such disrespect, especially when everyone else in his group made their purchases with no issue. They weren't noisy, rowdy or displaying any behavior that they were trying to scam them. They frequent this neighborhood and will only patronize the Sinclair convenience shop going forward.

This is a new one for me…read more When I drove up to the station, there was a lit cigarette sitting on the window ledge outside the building. I thought, "Okay, sure, a deranged vagrant left a cigarette burning at a gas station. That's LA for you!" Then the attendant walked out, picked the cigarette up, and resumed smoking it. I had to laugh. At the same time, I filled up as fast as I could, which isn't very fast because the pumps here are still slow. A patron walked in and the attendant put the lit cigarette back on the ledge, maybe 20 feet from the active pumps, and headed inside to sell the patron a lottery ticket or something. Incredible stuff. Again, it's the cheapest Top Tier place in the area, so I'll probably be back. But I will try to use the pumps that are further from the office.

The only thing to note about this is you must get gas first, and if you pay with credit card, it will prompt you if you are also getting a car wash. Other than that, this gas station also sometimes shows off a nice car collection!
