Food is always good. The service sort of depends on the day and time. Sometimes they aren't friendly.

Limited menu. Staff not too accommodating for menu adjustments . Could greatly benefit from a better menu that includes more sandwich options and fare. Beautiful setting but probably wouldn't recommend or come back. read more

Every time I come to the island I stop by 7a's bakery on an almost daily basis (I was staying with my in laws for 2 weeks this month). I'm a huge fan of their Hippy Muffin - it's excellent! Their cheese jalapeno muffin is a wonderful melt in your mouth mixture of those ingredients. The iced tea and coffee are very good also. read more

7a served up one of the best breakfast sandwiches that I have ever had. The homemade English muffin was delicious and the perfectly proportions and the addition of veggies really elevated the sandwich. I loved that the bacon perfectly fit the sandwich. My husband loved his breakfast sandwich on a jalapeño cheddar biscuit and my daughter really loved her lox bagel. I am just sad that we only made it here once over our ten day stay! As a few others have noted, the wait is pretty long and the line mechanics are a little bizarre, but that would not dissuade you! read more

Stopped on a whim and so glad we did! We didn't get to try any of the sandwiches but definitely tried quite a few of the cookies and pastries. DELICIOUS! Recommend the Fruit Bar!! If you are on your way to or back from Aquinnah I would definitely recommend stopping here! read more

The sandwiches were delicious! However, you should know that there is no table service and only outdoor benches to sit on. It is a 2-minute walk from the public library, which has clean accessible bathrooms. I also saw 2 picnic tables next to the library but I didn't check if they were for public use. read more

A quick preface, my wife and I both love 7a, and look forward to stopping there each time we come to the Vineyard. So, when I told my wife I was going to give them a 4/5, she told me I just may end up in a shallow sandy grave before the end of the vacation. However, some things just have to be said. First, what we love: Almost everything. We are huge fans of Dan Sauer and his wife Wenonah, the Owner/chef/oprerators of 7a. We are amazed at the healthy, creative, amazing combinations found in each of their sandwiches. Admittedly, with 5 or 6 selections on a changing basis, it's selection can be called limited, but you will find something you love with no trouble. The baked goods are exemplary and fresh, and the staff has always been pleasant and helpful. For breakfast suggestions we did a little pre-yelping and found out that the sandwich of choice was a breakfast biscuit. As New Englanders who have spend signifiant time in North Carolina as well as Georgia, this sounded like heaven. The reality fell short. I had the sausage egg and cheese biscuit, others ordered bacon egg and sausage biscuits and my wife swam upstream with a bagel with lox. The in house sausage was amazing. Subtle seasonings including fennel allowed the pork and pork fat flavors through and was thoroughly enjoyable. The lox bagel with compote of lemon and caper with red onion and spinach was delicious and light. The house made biscuit, however was a real disappointment. As a southern biscuit lover (too much so, my wife and cholesterol keep reminding me) I look forward to the soft, crumbly almost unctuous mouth feel and rich savory shortbread taste to augment the sandwich and send my cardiologist into seizures. 7a's biscuits were overly cakey, breaking, not crumbling, with a complete lack of that certain decadent umami that is required of a good biscuit. All in all, still a good breakfast. But, with the bar set so high on the rest of his menu, I wanted more from my breakfast. I hope my wife will talk to me on the ferry ride home. read more

If I didn't have family in West Tisbury it is quite possible I would still make the trip here from New York specifically to get this breakfast sandwich. I always get the same configuration: egg with sausage, cheese, lettuce tomato and red onion, on a biscuit. I'm sure the rest of the menu is also good, but I'll never know because I will never not be getting this sandwich. read more

7afoods has been on my list for a few summers now. I finally got to try it this year and I'm sad that it took me so long to get there! My mom, cousin and I went for lunch. I ordered the umami tsunami, a vegetarian sandwich with roasted mushrooms, greens, pimento cheese, and pickled jalapeños on the softest ciabatta. I know it sounds a little out there, but trust me. It works. I had to pick off some jalapeños because I have a pretty low tolerance for spicy food but I don't think that will be a problem for most people. The sandwich still tasted great without them. My mom got the beet wrap (also vegetarian!), which she immediately declared her favorite wrap she's ever had. My cousin got the chicken salad sandwich and really enjoyed it. It was a hit with everyone. And it was cool to see some creative vegetarian options instead of just the standard tomato, basil and mozzarella. We got a brownie to spilt for dessert and it was dense and moist and everything a brownie should be. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. When my mom and I went back the second time, we had a bit of a time crunch. Lunch doesn't start until 11, and we came in at 10:59 with a boat to catch. We each ordered the same thing we had before and the incredibly nice employee at the counter (wish I remembered his name!) told us it might be a few minutes since they were just switching over to lunch service and they weren't quite done transitioning over from making breakfast orders yet. We debated ordering since we were short on time. When he found out we had to get to the boat relatively soon he assured us that he would get our order to us as quickly as possible. He said if we didn't have it soon to come talk to him and he would check in with the kitchen. Well it didn't come to that, our order was ready much sooner than we expected and we made it to our boat in time with a delicious lunch! 7a has some of the best food on the Vineyard -- from the infamous "Liz Lemon" sandwich (but try the tomato, mozzarella and basil on fresh focaccia too) to the cookies, muffins, oatmeal (!) and breakfast sandwich, you really can't go wrong. Don't be deterred by the line -- it moves quickly and it's worth the wait. Sometimes we will grab some oatmeal, a corn muffin and coffee and head for a nearby beach for an early-morning beach picnic. There isn't seating in the establishment (has a small country kitchen/store feel going on) but there is a long bench for bike riders looking to grab a quick bite and breather. If you want to sit down at a table to enjoy the food, just head across the street to the public library for outdoor tables. read more

Great sandwiches. Not very many choices but I assume it is to help keep the line moving. But really great sandwiches none the less. All outdoor seating which are pretty much benches so I would recommend taking your food to go. Very cool little nostalgic store associated with it just next door has a lot of old games and penny candies that'll make you laugh. read more

Thanks to yelp and the fact that I had my car on the island, I made my way up island to find 7a for breakfast before heading home on the noon ferry. Things that helped me select 7a were the other yelp reviews noting good, local food made on site along with their web site that reinforced what I was looking for. I was not disappointed when I arrived. Coffee was excellent. Breakfast sandwich on home made biscuit perfectly cooked (good yolk). I got to try some of my wife's steel cut oats with raisins (she couldn't finish it). This place is the real deal and I am glad I was able to support them. We watched them cooking pies for thanksgiving while we waited. It was nice to see actual pumpkins being baked and not cans being opened. Wish I had time to try one of those pies. LOVE 7A. I had to call at 7 a.m. to get 9 cheddar/jalapeno biscuits (to die for) saved for me. I had people visiting for the day and wanted to include these biscuits for lunch. They are so delicious. Also had a chocolate croissant and my husband had a blueberry muffin which was so full of blueberries, it truly has ruined us for blueberry muffins. The chocolate croissant was a little sugary crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was all delicious. My guests raved about the biscuits. Can't wait to try lunch there tomorrow. read more

We loved our sandwiches. I had the pulled pork. I'm from the South, so I love coleslaw. The coleslaw wasn't overly wet and had nice flavor. I needed more BBQ on my pork, but with the brioche bun, I was happy. My husband couldn't stop raving about the Liz Lemon. We also ordered two cookies: ginger molasses and another with pretzels, chocolate (and some other wonderful things we can't remember) in an oatmeal base. The cookies are the size of your face. They were wonderful. My husband got a drink but I already had water. The cashier was sure to ask if I needed anything to drink. I appreciate the attentiveness. No denying the greatness of the sandwiches at this place, but when you call in an order 15 minutes before you get there and have to wait in line for 20 minutes just to pick it up, I find myself thinking is it worth it ?
