This restaurant has a RACIST employee who treated customers differently based on their race. The tall white male employee at the checkout counter did not say hello to me when I ordered, just directly asked "What do you want" in a cold tone. But when two white female customers arrived, he said hello to them before they even reached the counter and was noticeably warmer and more polite. Even worse, when a Black female customer later arrived and said "hi," the employee did not reply to her at all and just asked "You want this?" -- the coldest treatment of all. White customers got the most warm treatment with greetings, non-white customers (including me) got no greeting and direct cold tone, and Black customers got the worst treatment with no basic response even when they greeted first. This microaggression made me feel deeply disrespect. All customers should receive equal service regardless of their race. I expect the management to investigate this employee and provide anti-discrimination training to staff. I will not be returning until this is addressed. Others should be aware of this discriminatory treatment. read more

A lot of people have been hyping up this chain for me and there is usually a long line for their stores. So it's time for me to check it out! We went to the Harlem location. There weren't that many people waiting but a fair bit. The inside of the place is really bare, but I went for the food and the decor! I understand why ppl like it so much. But Imo the burger is a bit greasy, (but grease makes everything taste better right? ). And next time I will try to eat the fries right away. Since it's inside the box, the trapped heat probably made the fries soggier. For a fast food joint, I can't really complain. it's just a bit greasier than what I preferred. I ordered the spicy jalapeño double impossible, but I got no jalapeños! The burger to go was a lump of mess. This is the messiest burger POSSIBLE. There's no lettuce or tomato and the bun doesn't hold up even a tiny bit. No double with that bun especially. The fries were decent but I need some salt and ranch for that! I can say 7th st burger is consistent across branches in terms of taste because I just came to new branch and it didn't disappoint. The burger seemed slightly smaller than I remember but that could be my memory. Like the majority of 7th st burger locations there's no seating but there's definitely space for it so I hope they add a few tables in the future. I deducted a star because I didn't get their special sauce with my order but that not sure if it's because I needed to ask for it specifically (I don't remember having to at the other locations). The double burger with was good, not too salty. The bun good but mushy, I usually like it toasted inside, maybe I had to eat it immediately. Nonetheless, I would eat again! The fries were ok, I am more of a Nathan fries kind of guy. The service was good, personable staff and the burgers took less than 10 minutes, which is great because it is fresh. After seeing 7th Street Burger around NYC, I'm so happy to have finally tried it. These burgers are DELICIOUS!!! They have amazing options, including veg-options. If you're vegan/dairy-free, just make sure to request the burger with no cheese. I ordered the impossible burger with the fries. They have an amazing cook on them and the grilled onions and pickles tie it all together!! I also think that they're very reasonably priced compared to most burger spots in NYC. The burgers themselves are a little small but I saw that you can request for a double patty. This location also doesn't have the counters for standing, so it's more of a to-go place. I've gone here 3 or 4x and almost always have a good experience. My first time, I was met with the utmost kindness from the manager who offered me a discount to try it. It was so generous and kind and the burger was fabulous. Second time I went, I was not disappointed! Another fantastic meal. Today, again the food did not disappoint. However, one of the young ladies behind the counter had a bit of a bad attitude. It was night and day between the two girls working the counter. One was charming, sweet and joyful. The other was sultry, off-putting and full of attitude. When my order was ready she grabbed my bag and swung it in my direction. I asked for a plastic bag which seemed to annoy her further. The cherry on top though was when leaving she decided to spray me in the face with the counter cleaner right after she slapped all of the garbage left by previous customers on the floor. I rushed out of there, partly because I was hungry after my 8 hour shift in a hospital, but also because I didn't want to go off on her extremely poor behavior. I gave this establishment 4 out of 5 stars still because I don't feel she represents the business, but nonetheless felt this needed to be brought to their attention to take necessary action.
