I came here around 6:30pm on a Wednesday. It was nearly empty except for a few folks at the bar. The bartender was a little distracted and disappeared into the back room for stretches of time, but he was friendly and efficient when preparing the drinks. I was grateful the bar area had an outlet close by so I was able to charge my phone while drinking. The bar had chairs with full backs which were much comfier than typical bar stools. They had happy hour specials until 8pm including $8 cocktails. As expected from the name, the Que Fresco was light, citrusy, and refreshing. The Stepchild was an unexpected gem. It was succulent and juicy. I am not usually a fan of honey in drinks but in this one it was subtle and tasty. They had a food menu as well including a vegan ham empanada that I would love to go back to try. read more

This year Halloween fell on a weekend, and I procrastinated on a costume. So at the last minute Saturday night, I dressed up as "50s rocker dude " (white polo, jeans and spiked up hair) My good friend noticed a happening bar right on SW 8 St driving in, and we decided to check it out after grabbing a bite nearby. Apparently the theme was "Alice in Wonderland", but thanks to our pregaming, we carried on with "a certain musician stage named Bunny" jokes :) 8Street Brickell is a cozy lounge with great beats - classic trance and house, a dab of hip hop and reggaeton - and strong drinks tucked away in one of the new West Brickell buildings. The sound quality is professionally done, especially given that we were hanging out by the DJ booth but were still able to maintain a conversation. Though for the theme party they had "Drink Me" cups, the awesome "Bar Bunny" mixed a wicked cocktail magic with Zacapa and a hint of sweet. I got the El Bandido. Usually I don't like spicy drinks, but I wanted to branch out. It wasn't undrinkably strong nor was it too spicy. I liked it a lot as a mezcal lover! AMBIANCE There were dates, people catching a drink before flights, and celebrations there. However, it never got too loud or overwhelming. Seems like a place to take your date just to talk or before going clubbing. People were also dressed from casual to dressy. OTHER Reservations aren't needed to sit around. We'd passed this place before and made a mental note to return and try it, and after having dinner nearby we decided to come here for a nightcap. One issue is that 8 Street Brickell is so nondescript from the outside that even 1/2 a block away we weren't sure if we'd found this place again or not. We had a seat at the bar, and the bartender was there right away to ask what we wanted, and to point out the QR code if we wanted to look at the menu using our phones. Specialty cocktails were $15, which is about average for a better Miami area bar with proper mixologists like this one. I had the Brickellista, as it looked like one of the more original and interesting things on the menu, containing vodka and honey, lemon, grapefruit and carrot juices. My husband had the El Bandido which contained mezcal, mango shrub, lime juice, agave and "spiced tinctures". We were both happy with our drinks and the folks seated near us at the bar were obviously locals and were outgoing. Sadly, this place wasn't very well patronized on the Thursday evening we were here, which is a shame as it really is nicely appointed inside and they offer a small "bar bites" menu as well, which, on the night we were here consisted of 3 types of empanadas. As mentioned, they might also do more to make this place look more lively and inviting from the street because we would never have come here if we hadn't seen it previously, and even then we almost missed finding the place when searching it out again. read more

I can't exactly give this place a fair review, but I can review their happy hour. We came after work for their happy hour deal, which is pretty good. It's in the middle of Brickell, so we expected it to be pretty lively. It was very dead when we went, only 1 other couple was there. The music was kind of lackluster and the service was pretty slow for the fact there was 4 of us there. They were spending the whole beginning of happy hour just stocking the bar full of juices and whatnot, instead of paying attention to the customer in front of them. You'd think that they'd maybe come an hour early to do that to be ready for happy hour? The cocktails were good, decent. Nothing crazy. Stopped in with friends for a couple of drinks after dinner. It was a Tuesday night and very few people were there. We actually liked that we were there before a crowding started. We had our pick of either inside or outside seating. Very cool decor. There was music playing as well. Ordered a raspberry mule and that didn't work out. The raspberry liquor had a taste that didn't sit well with me. Our server was great, she understood what I was explaining about the drink and suggested I try the Guava Nice Day Margarita. Living in the apartment building above, I've been anticipating their opening for quite some time now. This is easily the best bar in Brickell. The interior of this bar is absolutely gorgeous. There is elegance and detail in every aspect of the design. The drinks are amazing and reasonably priced, especially considering the location and sophistication of this bar. We tried the following: Rye Paper Plane - Sazerak Rye, Aperol, Lemon, Amaro Nonino. Strong pour and delightful taste. Ocho Picante - Ocho Silver, Lime, Agave, Orange Liquor, Spiced Tincture. This was like a spicy margarita. Raspberry Mule - Tito's, Creme de Framboise, Lime, Ginger Honey, and soda. This was a unique take on a mule. It worked very well. Local Negroni - Sipsmith Gin, Campari, Vermouth, Spiced Mango. This was a stiff pour. Old Fashioned - Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Angostura Bitters, Raw Sugar Cube. One of my favorite drinks and they executed it flawlessly. Service was remarkable. The level of attentiveness and professionalism in each staff member was admirable. Other local businesses should take notes. They were very personable and welcoming to every patron. They have quite a few tables/booths inside along with the beautiful bar. They also have an outdoor lounge area. This place is a vibe. So comfortable, and one of the best ambiances in Brickell that isn't waterside. Definitely the place to be. Harrison at the bar seems to be devoted to providing excellence in his area, making what could be "just another bar at the block" a total experience with his sharp abilities to deliver tasteful cocktails. Also had a chance to meet Christian, which from my perspective accomplishes exemplary work culture as a GM, overseeing all operations and ensuring commitment to quality is more than the norm. As someone young yet classical in its likes, definitely a spot I will be coming to every weekend. Súper disappointed in this place, and I hate to write bad reviews but I love to be honest! This place has so much potential but unfortunately it is all hype. The drinks were inconsistent to the point where I thought I was drinking two different drinks after receiving my order for the second round. Even the drink decor was not consistent. My first round came with and orange peel and the second did not. My party and I came during happy hour which was super slow I mean there were maybe four groups in the entire establishment and we were only able to place one drink in about an hour of time. The decor is also very odd. The furniture resembles an almost Gastby feel but the colorful disco balls and hanging flowers say something totally different.
