At first, we assumed it had simply been removed during the inspection and set aside somewhere, so we called to ask about it. The representative told us they would check and get back to us. We never received a follow-up call. After waiting, we called again and were told there would be no reason for anyone to remove the charger. We were then told they would need to contact the insurance adjuster to obtain the vehicle photos and see whether the charger was visible in the pictures. What makes this explanation confusing is that Gerber took the photos themselves, so I'm not sure why they didn't already have access to them. That conversation was over a week ago, and we still haven't received any update, response, or resolution. The charger itself isn't the biggest issue. The real concern is the lack of accountability and communication. If a customer reports a missing personal item, the least that should happen is a timely follow-up. Instead, we've been left chasing answers with no response. Thankfully, we ultimately chose not to have Gerber perform the repairs. If personal belongings can go missing without explanation and customer concerns go unanswered, it raises questions about the level of care and integrity customers can expect throughout the repair process. I hope management takes customer concerns more seriously in the future and improves both communication and accountability.
