Hard to believe that Hospital for Special Surgery, the finest orthopedic hospital in the world,…read moresends its patients for rehab to Mary Manning Walsh, where patients receive inadequate and incompetent care. The administrative staff is generally good, as are the nurses and, the PTs. ( Especially Yolanda) However, the caretakers and aides, save for a few, lack the tiniest bit of compassion and/or interest in the patients' welfare or comfort. They are so nasty that no amount of sensitivity training could help. This is such culture shock coming from HSS where the care and kindness is five star quality. I was left to fend for myself for hours on end when I developed diarrhea and chills and could barely get myself to the bathroom. A diaper was tossed to me, but no one came to follow up and check on me. When I rang the bell and asked for help putting my leg up on the bed, which was painful from knee replacement surgery, I was told " she showed you how to do it" before reluctantly helping me. I was told the night before my discharge that an aide, who was one of the few kind individuals there, would help bathe me and wash my hair before my discharge that morning. When she didn't show up, a different aide came in and told me that I would not be getting bathed because I had gotten bathed theday before! She seemed to really enjoy telling me that! Eventually, I was helped with bathing by the kind aide. A walker was ordered for me for my day of discharge. I had only used a walker during my weeklong stay. When my walker hadn't arrived 15 minutes before my Ambulette was set to come, I was informed that I would not be getting a walker because I got one in 2023! I was discharged shakily with a cane that I had not practiced with at all. And last, but not least, was the horrendous, vile, unhealthy food that was served. Inedible! After my week stay at Mary Manning, I felt broken.

Candidates whose nationality is from a country outside the United States are hired more quickly than law-abiding American citizens. The hiring staff prioritize hiring West Indian, Caribbean, African-born, and Hispanic individuals over American citizens who were born in the United States and speak and understand English. At least 86 percent of the staff are not of American origin. The hiring department discriminates against American applicants. ArchCare is more concerned about the money they receive from the patient than the actual medical care given. The medical staff provide the bare minimum if they even do that. I wouldn't let a sick stray dog be cared for at ArchCare because it would mostly die in the hands of these people. The management staff, Doctors, Nurses and CNA's only care about their paychecks. If you're looking for a place to be mistreated & to die go to an ArchCare living facility.

The review below reflects the experience and concerns that led up to that outcome. Update (March 2026): After my original review, I was contacted by management and informed that reimbursement for the dentures that were discarded while my mother was a resident would be processed. I subsequently received an email confirming that the payment was being processed. However, despite that assurance, I have not been provided with a mailing date or confirmation that the check has been issued, and I continue to be told only that the reimbursement is "still in process." For that reason, it is not accurate to characterize this matter as resolved at this time.

The other residents are friendly, interesting, and fun to be with. If you or a loved one are looking for the next to perfect place to be---come and visit Hudson Yards and the Coterie.

I ll be very honest because I rarely leave bad reviews anywhere…read more I ve been here on and off for 5 years now and no complaints about the therapists I have had. I ve learned to deal with some unprofessional s front desk in the past (young or inexperienced)but this time it really went on a different level. I ve called to make an appointment for a new therapist few weeks ago where I precisely ask if the one that I would have tried had some experience. I ve been told over the phone by this guy named ALDO , he is usually seats at the first corner of the desk, that absolutely yes, she was coming from another place and she had experience. (I did not ask him to disclose any infos about this person, only if she had experience as therapist ) and he reassured me that yes she did. Come to the appointment and the therapist just told me that this was her first job, fresh out of school. Now: It's not only the lie I ve been told but also the time I wasted, since I specifically made sure of that in my request. Otherwise I would have picked another therapist to begin with. I confronted ALDO and he denied. From then on, he keeps doesn't acknowledge me when I get there, he doesn't call the therapist when I get there, which is so unprofessional in many ways. Today I had my appointment at noon and he called the therapist at 12.15 to let her know I was there. That was confirmed by my therapist who said he never let her know that I was there at noon and she was waiting for me since I was her first appointment of the day. I recorded the conversation and time I got there (noon) and he said he told her (not true) After 15 minutes, while I was still there waiting,my therapist got his call for the first time. Its all documented so in case he wants to deny it again.(for personal purpose and protect myself) In a place where we should find peace we can't deal with this type of behavior. I believe that who responds to the reviews is the front desk itself so the reply doesn't really matter..only helps making people aware of the situation and person they might encounter at the front. I m trying to get in contact with Vaia (the owner) personally and the manager Sharon to see if this behavior can stop because it's ridiculous now, since I do go in once a week and love my therapist and I need to escalate this to them.
