They sell engineered wood flooring without proper protective coating, which is why the price looks low -- but you end up paying much more later. As soon as a little water touched the floors, it penetrated straight into the wood and changed the color. We were shocked. We had just spent a lot of money on new flooring, and instead we ended up with damaged wood within days. Because of these issues, we couldn't even move into our home. We had to stay in an Airbnb while dealing with the problem. We spent over $4,000 on temporary housing because of the extremely poor-quality material they sold us. Discount Floor sells cheap, low-quality engineered wood with almost no protective coverage. We will never buy from them again, and I strongly do not recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the headache. Go somewhere else.

Four years ago, we went through a big renovation of an old 1940s home and hired Evolution Flooring to refinish the original hardwoods and match/install the oak flooring in areas of the home that did not have wood flooring. They were our favorite of the contractors we worked with. We just had them return to refinish a room we didn't have them work on initially and had an equally wonderful experience with them. We had a wonderful experience with The Floor Center. We had a long scar in the floor of our 1940s…read morehome that had been poorly patched when someone had removed a wall long ago. Robert's team led by Carlos laced the wood back together (they had to take up a larger part of the floor because the boards didn't line up perfectly on either side of the old repair) and were able to reuse many of our existing boards to do it, you can see the new wood over by the wall in the collage. They sanded the floors down and prepared three stain samples (bottom left photo of the collage) based on colors we picked from a fan book they loaned us. The bottom right photo is the finished product and we couldn't be happier with how the floors turned out! They took great care of our home, using plastic to cover the openings to the kitchen and all vents so the dust didn't end up anywhere it shouldn't, and cleaned up the remaining dust when they finished. The stain is Nutmeg from Duraseal on red oak hardwood, with a Satin finish polyurethane sealant.
