Overall, it was great value for a very relaxing Massage (though price had gone up from what previous reviews had mentioned). The environment was quiet with faint background music, but you will be able to hear people talking in the hallway on next-door since the walls do not go all the way to the ceiling. I thought I would be brought to another room for the foot massage part since usually there's the process of soaking the feet, but this one did not have it. Both massage was completed in one room. The lady at the front desk said the wait was just 10 minutes so we decided to get $55 30-min foot massage and 30-min oil massage combo. I have probably gotten foot massage in LA and in China more than 100 times so I'm a bit spoiled on foot massage experience before. Service - 3/5. Everyone seemed nice. You can definitely communicate better if you happen to speak Chinese. Foot massage - 1/5. If you are having a hard day and just want to soak your foot in hot water and lay down, just do it at home. You get the similar level of relaxation at home. As far as the foot massage goes, this was by far my least favorite one I have ever gotten. Save money for oil massage instead. Oil massage - 3/5. I had so much knots on my back and shoulder that this massage helped relax my tight muscles. They use their elbows 99% of the time. So if you don't think that's worth it, go somewhere else. I know my boyfriend didn't enjoy either foot massage or oil massage, but I at least enjoyed oil massage. Now the big question is would I be a regular here? Probably not. Scheduling was a little bit confusing because I kept asking for a specific time, and she kept confirming different times even though the time I wanted was available. Check-in was easy, massage started on time, staff was friendly, but communication is lacking and massage was mediocre. I scheduled a 30 minute foot and 30 minute body massage and the lady barely put any pressure and I didn't feel any different leaving than when I came in. Also after the massage was over the lady told me she was finished so I got up to get changed and then she walked back in on me mid change to rub the lotion off my back. Went for a foot and body massage after several years and was every bit worth it. Took the Combo Foot and Body massage for $50 deal and walked out a new person. The first half hour was the masseuse focusing on neck and shoulder while the feet soaked in hot water. Then she moved to the feet and did a great job in cleaning and massaging both feet with cream. Next half hour was moved to a different room for a full body massage. After removal of any clothing was asked to lie face down on the bed. The process, rigor and application of hot oil was absolutely terrific. She knew what she was doing and knew how to make someone feel very comfortable. Upper and lower back, upper and lower leg with hot oil, as well as combination of deep tissue and soft. Walked out feeling as light as a feather. They spend 30 minutes in your feel/legs in one room and then you move to a massage room and they work on your back for the next 30 minutes. There are separate rooms for massages and foot massages but everything is open up top so there's a lot of noise that carries, but nothing too rambunctious. Staff were all friendly and polite. Everything seemed clean and organized. They also have a punch card for regular clients but I can't remember what the deal is once you fill it. Would definitely recommend. read more

You need to be VERY clear on what treatment you want & even reference pointing to the menu so there is no confusion. My favorite treatment is the "Foot Massage" for $30 + tip. You are fully clothed (shoeless) then start with a foot soak. They massage your shoulders, face & neck. Once you've soaked for about 15 minutes they rub your feet & legs with oil for another 15 minutes. Next they flip you over and massage your shoulders and neck for about 30 minutes. By far this is the best & most economical service. I have also tried the 30/30 for $50 + tip the difference is you get a room, traditional massage table & remove clothing. My husband likes the 90 minute massage for 90$ plus tip. He said they include an incredible scalp massage with this service. The location has plenty of parking located in a strip mall near downtown Redmond. It's NOT a fancy place but beds are clean & if you have soar muscles & tension they can usually get you in same day. It grossed me out and immediately took a shower as soon as I got home. The above was my previous visit. The below is my recent visit after a year or so hoping things got better with Covid. This is the second time I was almost beaten up by a male masseuse at this studio. The first time I was embarrassingly with my mom and daughter, and finally had to sit up and yell at the man - "You're HURTING me!" This last time, I was with my friend (thank goodness), and this man was flailing me around and jerking my joints and it was the most stressful massage I think I've ever had. I am not made of rubber and I am extremely breakable (as are we all). Not only did he put his elbow in inappropriate places, he would jerk me so hard and fast that I didn't have time to brace. At one point he was arching my lower back so hard that I had to say "Be careful of my lower back!!" and he just laughed. He pushed so hard with his arm on the back of my neck, I couldn't breathe-- not side of neck, but literally the back of my neck where you shouldn't put pressure at all. Worse yet was when I only gave a $5 tip, the lady at the front desk was trying to bully me and make me give 20%. That is extremely unprofessional. I shouldn't have had to pay at all. However I must admit, the worst part of this all is that I didn't speak up earlier. The experience just made me angrier throughout the day-- I can't believe I tipped at all. So sad. When the Mommy Meetup group decided to pick this place to indulge in some relatively inexpensive much needed self care I couldn't resist. Yes it is in a nondescript strip mall and I seriously hope this location can survive the condominium explosion that is occurring in downtown Redmond. The condos are sprinting up like mushrooms within two months. The ambiance is amazing, the gentleman at the font desk was incredibly professional. I was delayed due to a diaper emergency so I joined the ladies a little late. He quietly ushered me into a private room with three low benches. Within five minutes body language let me know to lift up my feet to soak in a nice warm tub. It seemed a tad bit too hot but within three seconds I realized that this was going to stay warm. What was coming next? Oh gosh, a scalp and neck massage. Then arms, then fingers. It's hard to describe how much stress we store in our hands and how completely her massage put me at ease. This was my first foot massage and I've always been sort of curious about reflexology, and how tiny areas on the foot correspond with a network of nerves to all your organs and muscles. I kept thinking about how skillful this practitioner was. I have nerve damage in three of my right toes; they bend kind of funny. Without a word she altered the way she touched my feet to help heal. I fractured my heel and had a metal bar put in place in 1994. In 2010 I broke three of my toes intentionally to alleviate the way they healed. This is hard to describe but I will try. The release of the fascia in my right was kind of astounding, bordering on spiritual. If you can picture a skeleton and all the bones in your foot which can articulate, these bones moved. For the first time in 23 years. I will go back. When I turned over she started at my shoulders which was fantastic. When she moved under my left scapula it was uncomfortable because of the way that join had healed. I murmured softer, and she said OK and completely altered the way her hands moved. I know it is part of her job to relieve muscles and I'm not sure how often her touch heals remnants of traumatic events, but she knows what she is doing. At the front desk there was a punch card presented and I put that in the center of my wallet. When I have money and time to get a babysitter I will return. I should do so sooner than later because of the construction boom that is happening blocks away. read more

They keep my body from screaming at me (massage makes a big difference for my overall wellbeing, especially with headaches and muscle strains/knots). I love: - Price. It's unbeatable. That said, I always tip at least $15 for an hour, even if it's a foot massage and is only $30 for the service. If you want a traditional Chinese foot massage I'd skip this place and go to Bay Point Spa in Bellevue. If you want a hybrid foot massage / table oil massage then you'll probably be pretty happy. So, this place has interesting pricing with 2 competing basic massages - a traditional foot massage (with over the clothes body massage) and a hybrid "combo" massage that is half traditional foot massage and half unclothed oil massage for a higher cost. It seems like they've watered down what's normally included in a traditional foot massage to make the pricier combo massage more attractive. I tried the traditional foot massage - it was ok. Not bad, but not good. Lots of odd (and kinda uncomfortable) scalp scratching, 40+ min of kinda haphazard feeling foot / calf massage, very brief body massage, then more scalp scratching. If I were in the area and looking to kill an hour I'd come back but if I really wanted a strong, thorough massage I'd go elsewhere. read more

Absolutely wonderful. I spent a week traveling and walking nonstop, ending with 19 hours in an airplane seat. My feet hurt, my back hurt ... basically, every inch of me hurt. Since I'd driven past 88 spa many times, I decided to give them a try. They were able to see me right away with no appointment. Language is a bit of an issue, but I explained the problem and decided on a 30/30 foot/massage treatment. The price can't be beat - I paid $50 for an hourlong treatment. The rooms are fairly basic, but clean, and the tables are comfortable. The therapist who worked on me was an older Asian man, but made me completely comfortable even though I generally am not comfortable with a male masseuse. He totally knew his stuff, and stretched and massaged all my aches and pains away. I really didn't think anyone could! I read through some of the other reviews before going, and I have to say I didn't experience any of the issues others have commented on. There is some background noise from people talking, but it's relatively minor and I'm pretty sure it's from the salon next door. The owner was very friendly, although as mentioned, language is a bit of an issue and she has a very direct manner. I didn't have any problem with tipping - the service is a deal so I tipped generously - even with the tip it was half the price of the usual spa massage in this area. How is that a problem? They gave me a bottle of water and some candies after the service, and I took a punch card because you better believe I'll be back! read more

If you request a person, you get that person. They don't play the usual "Yes, you can see Michelle" only to later find out she doesn't work today. Honesty works. 3. Not rushed in, or rushed out. I've timed things a few times, and never been short-changed. 4. The rooms are comfy. I've come here with my kids, my spouse, my in-laws, and others and all have been happy. 5. I've been introduced to the inexpensive Foot massage venues by a mutual friend and thus been a regular customer at various establishments throughout different cities here in Washington. I can clearly state, 88 is truly my favorite. Clean, simple, personalized, professional and above all the staff is very attentive to your needs. While all massage personnel are not created equal, thus far this is one of the best staffed. I've purchased a couple of gift certificates for Christmas as gifts for my daughter and hopefully she'll entertain using them very soon. It's a hit and miss...sadly, a miss for me. First visit here, came with "boyfriend", so by default they gave him the "man (to) massage" and I got a "tickling session" with the "lady". First thing first, came in for foot massage, so kindly leave my face (and my eyebrows!!!) alone please. I had to stop her before I became "uni-brow" . Really don't understand why do all these massage place call them "foot massage".... They tried putting a towel over my face, needless to say, I got rid of it and was "spying" the entire time. SO jealous of the "boyfriend", could tell that the guy was really working on him! The guy was using both hands and didn't stop the entire time. He said at some point, it was so painful that he jumped! Well, my massage is really more of a tickling session. The gal kept getting itchy spots and uses one hand to scratch her face and the other hand, resting on my foot.... And do not wear hoodie to a foot massage! Who knows right? Lol. At some point during the foot massage, they flipped you on your tummy and start working on your back. The gal pulled my hoodie back so she can reach her hand down my neck and it felt like she was strangulating me with my own hoodie! Came here because bay point spa closed on the day we went. This is 30 dollars for a foot reflexology which includes a body massage as well (head, arms, legs, back). The place is very clean inside, they use a rose scented ointment for massage instead of plain lotion which I really liked. The ladies were nice and they gave us water at the end as well. Not crowded with people like some places and they have many rooms so that it gives you more privacy between other people. I'm giving this review two stars for a few reasons. The first reason is because the front desk host, who I believe is the owners wife, is a very very rude woman. Secondly on several occasions while I have been being worked on someone comes into the room and whispers what I am assuming is the instructions for another appointment. But it's in another language so who knows. Don't get attached to anyone massage person, because the staff constantly is changing. Also, we were told several times to be quiet while the rest of the staff was chatting and laughing in the back room and being very loud. Every time I am greeted immediately & led to my room depending on the service selected. I've done both the hour foot massage & the hour combo! Let me tell you, can't go wrong with either! The massage is EXCELLENT! The reflexology style combined with compression makes it a wonderfully relaxing experience. You don't ache when you're finished like a traditional massage. Instead you feel lighter & have a greater range of motion. I've been hooked ever since I found them! At such a good price I am able to visit weekly & I only regret not finding them sooner! The cost is affordable because you don't pay for any extra gimmicks... there's no relaxing pictures on the walls or cheesy "be here now" signs decorating the rooms. I was able to schedule a "walk in" as I was about 10 minutes away. I was seen right away. The massage was EXCELLENT and she did an amazing job. She told me she would do the last 30 min and another girl would do last 30 min. That would have been ok had she not left the room 7 times in the first 1/2 hour to answer phone and door and schedule appts. I think the first half hour for about 10 minutes. The owner of this place is completely unprofessional. The massage I received was okay at best, the massage therapist kept applying firm pressure to my spine and too light of a pressure everywhere else. My partner's massage was a lot better. The place is pretty loud and they have commercials in the music they play. The problem came when I had to pay. I was tipping 15% for my provider and 20% for my partners. The whole time I was using the machine owner hovered. I entered the tip into the machine. She gets mad and tells me "that's not enough to pay my girls." I explain why I tipped the way I did, she grabbed the machine, cancelled the transaction and proceeded to put in a 20% tip for both providers. This is not legal, I argued with her and cancelled the transaction and put through what I originally intended. Avoid this place at all costs. Ouch. I have never had a massage therapist use an elbow to the spine. While the technique for some of the massage was strong, the spine and neck application was torturous. I should have spoken up, or left, as the massage technique was not refined, and brutal. She did ask me if I wanted medium or hard, and I did get some good work from her. My wife said she had one of the best massages she had ever had. Has anyone ever had massages on any bone in their body they have enjoyed? The spine and neck are delicate, I may have permanent damage, she could really hurt someone. From all the massage text and study I have done, the spine and atlas is worked around, and not with strong elbow pressure. My wife said her therapist was respectful, intuitive and efficient. We signed no waiver and I am curious if all their therapists are credentialed. We ordered 2 different massages, but I think you just get whatever. read more
