As a medical professional and person with a physical disability (Rt Arm Amputation) who has had over 1000 massages in my lifetime, I can attest and without reservation recommend Bliss Massage Spa in Issaquah, WA as a reputable and well-established business. Massage therapy sessions, amongst the licensed practitioners, are clearly structured and consistence even though there may be slight variation as there always is because of individual style, unique strengths and weakness and the variating needs of the patients and/or clients. It is fair to say that for the last four years I have seen the same therapist, so consistence has never been an issue. Andy is the most amazing massage therapist I have seen. Even though English isn't Andy's first language, I have never had issues with communicating my needs to him. Upon leaving Bliss Massage Spa I feel so much better than when I walked in. Andy has gotten to know my body, my problem areas and knows how to help me work through these issues. He is professional and knowledgeable. I see Andy a minimum of once every three weeks for at least a 90 minute full body therapeutic table massage and would go into Bliss Massage Spa more often if my schedule allowed. The management is very helpful and when I call, I always get a "Hello Bobby" everytime. They always accommodate my hectic schedule and meet my requests. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality and service you get. Because of the lower cost of the services there is a suggested tip amount for excellent service. This suggested tip amount helps compensate the clinicians for the lower cost of services to you (similar to restaurant staff and their perceived or expected tip rates). This lower cost and suggested tipping amount is not uncommon among many foot and massage spas. I've been coming to Bliss Massage for about five years and have probably had 25-30 visits. The quality has always been inconsistent -- sometimes excellent, sometimes not. I've had a therapist on their phone during a session, and once my scheduled therapist didn't show and the owner stepped in without any adjustment to the experience. That said, today's massage itself was actually great. Unfortunately, the experience at checkout completely changed my view of the business. I paid via Zelle and showed confirmation that the payment was processing, including the notification and account details. I also offered to follow up shortly to confirm once it cleared, as I needed to leave to pick up my daughter. Instead, I was repeatedly told to stay and wait. I was then followed outside, and the staff member actually got into my car to prevent me from leaving. I had to physically ask her to get out of my car. Shortly after, the payment went through as expected. I understand wanting to confirm payment, but this situation was handled in a way that felt extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable -- especially toward a long-time customer who was clearly trying to pay. I have been going to the Bliss Spa for over 8 years. The value is great for the service. A chair massage includes head, hands, legs, feet and back massage all while keeping your clothes on. However the payment is where I have an issue. I always give a 50% tip. Many times I give 100% tip which I feel is more than enough. Yesterday my bill was $45 and I gave $65. As I was driving away the woman behind the counter walked out to my car and asked why my tip was "only" $20? They ask for a check or cash. Jack is a MASTER. The BEST of the best! I've been having deep tissue/therapeutic massage for over 35 years because of my strenuous profession. I've had massage therapy all around the world from both male and female therapists (I'm a woman). There are many therapists who do a nice or even very nice job (and some who are only mediocre or worse!). But every so often you meet someone who is so intuitive in their work, born out of a clear passion for their craft that they deliver the very highest levels of excellence from start to finish. This is Jack. He is PHENOMENAL. A true professional in the top echelon of his peers that is inspiring to see. He is so excellent that I imagine him as a type of Jedi Master! And as an aside, he always greets me with a big friendly smile and seems genuinely happy to see me (even with a language barrier). What a gift for me that he works close to where I live! Just a comment on the other reviews posted - particularly about the tipping. Bliss Spa is generally a good value for the money. I had the same experience as others in the summer of 2025 with similar inquiries about my tipping (which is totally NOT cool), but this hasn't happened for a few months, so I imagine they got the feedback and corrected this problem. I went for a 90 minute private room deep tissue table massage. I've never been here before, so I wasn't sure what to expect as the reviews were so mixed. The masseuse was pretty good. She applied enough pressure to work the sore muscles, which I appreciated as sometimes places like this don't really understand what deep tissue massages are (as in, everything is a relaxing Swedish massage). My only real complaint is that the two areas I asked her to focus on were only given about 60 seconds of attention instead of some sustained effort. So, I left with those areas as tense as when I came in. By default, they spend almost all the time on your back, so if you have sore spots on your front, they don't get much attention. I probably should have asked for half the massage to focus on the back, and half on the front, but as is also typical for places like this there isn't a pre-massage discussion about the areas you'd like to get worked on. To her credit, when I asked to skip the hot stones because I wanted more time for the deep tissue massage, she did as I asked. Overall, this place is pretty good, and the price is reasonable - just be aware they aren't subtle about the tip because it's why their prices are pretty low. They have it charted out and point you to the chart to pick between a good/better/best range. That part is a bit odd, but it kind of comes with the territory so be prepared for that. read more

Right away I felt very comfortable. There is a central massage area and they also have private massage rooms. I was in the central area and received a 30 minute feet and leg massage. I'm a big gal, and they made sure I was fully comfortable before starting. They adjusted the chair twice for me and brought extra pillows for my back. It was a full 30 minutes of massage, not including the extra time for the foot soak and the hot towel dry at the end. Not once did I feel uncomfortable or a burden. They made me feel very welcomed and like they were happy for me to be here. My adult kids came too and they got the full back and legs in a private room. Their massage was the full 60 minutes and included hot stones and some deep tissue on certain areas. I highly recommend coming here and will be back. They were also to take us as a walk in. I want to touch on the tip situation because there seem to be concerns in the past. I tipped about 21% on the credit card amount. That was $15 for each of the 1 hour massage and $10 for my 30 minute foot massage. The employee did show me the tip chart and I said "just $40 total" and that was the end of the tip discussion. I really didn't want to write this review but my experience certainly warrants it. I've been to Bliss about 3-4 times and the massages are decent and people are friendly. I always tip around 20-25%, even if the massage wasn't the best experience. I stopped in tonight for a massage. After I was done and about to pay, my masseuse and the front desk woman spoke in Chinese, which I understood a bit of. I had enough cash on me to tip so I paid with a credit card and tipped in cash. They also charge more if you pay with card. Now here is what irked me a lot. My tip would amount to 22% if I had paid my massage with cash and 18% with a card. In my opinion, that is an adequate tip. The woman at the front desk tells me my tip is not enough and I need to add more money. She then pulls up their own tip chart, which suggests what customers should pay. The bare minimum is a 22% suggestion and up almost 30%. Most people wouldn't do the math to see how scrupulous they are. They already pass the credit card processing fees back to the customer and instead of paying a decent wage likely, they force the cost onto the customer by asking for ridiculous tips. She had the audacity to berate me and tell me because my massage was longer, I need to tip more. Absolutely not. I tipped the percentage of the service cost and the higher part of the service too. I used to bring my family and out of town guests here but I will never do that again since I would be mortified if my guests got strong armed into a tip they weren't comfortable with. Again, go at your own risk but be warned that she will shove a tipping chart in your face that is grossly inflated. This was also mentioned by another reviewer. Don't get me wrong. We live in a tip for service culture and I support it but not when you're being pushed to tip 30% upwards. Honestly, they should just raise the massage prices so they can operate ethically. I was in bad need of a massage and after calling 32,354 different traditional massage locations, I was out of luck in getting a same day deep tissue appointment. The next best thing would be an Asian foot massage place that would give me the relaxation I needed. Since there are so many sleezy locations out there, how would I know which ones are clean, sanitary and offer satisfactory service? Yelp only had two reviews for Bliss Spa but with an immediate need; I asked myself how bad could it be, right? Good call, I'd say. $25 is an average price for this type of service where you start with a foot soak (head/scalp massage as your feet are dipped in a tub of hot liquid mix), reflexology (a formalized and structured foot rub), then with the remaining 30 minutes of time get a clothed massage for your limbs and back. Conclusion: Exactly what I needed. Their price list had tempting and reasonably priced spa packages I will definitely try out soon. There are three/four things I think they can improve on though: 1) ask the customer what type of pressure is preferred beforehand; 2) when it is bright outside, lower the blinds to reduce the brightness as to improve relaxation; and 3) try to avoid opening up crinkly paper packages and plastics that are quite disruptive while customers are receiving treatment. 4) Music could be more soothing. read more

I am definitely disappointed I didn't research this place more before I went. I booked a 60 minute massage for $38.00, and when I was done they charged me $60.00. When I was paying, I told the woman I was confused why the total was $60.00 and I was reading their service menu and pointing to the price. She said, "take a picture!" and then left. I turned around and she was gone. I was upset that she didn't stay help me understand better. It made me feel like I was getting overcharged and just left standing there. I brought Groupon $46 for one ultrasonic body-slimming treatment ($125 value.) I had an appointment this morning and I was little bit disappointed with my experience at Bliss Spa. Ladies were friendly. I don't think treatment wasn't even worth $125 value. 10:00am- walked in and I was told to wait for 5-10min with covered blanket in bed, so my body warms up little bit for treatment. The bed wasn't stable and folded towel pillow wasn't comfortable enough. 10:15am- lady came back and started doing ultrasonic treatment. (Only one spot of the body.) she was yanking here and there with machine...told me this treatment isn't right for me, because I don't have enough fat... 10:35am- she finished and told me to wait another 5-10min. 24hour fitness started their Zumba class and i could hear their loud music. aaand I started to regret I should had spent $46 for something else. 10:45am- she came back and told me I'm good to go. I visited Bliss Spa on June 17, 2013 via a friend's recommendation for an hour long reflexology massage. I must say, Bliss has earned my repeat business because I will definitely be back. For $29, I can't help but walk away with the feeling that I had robbed their business because it is such a STEAL! Wow, $29!! I can now afford to get massages without breaking the bank!! The massage that I received by Mandy was great! I've always been the kind to go for deep tissue massages and I am so pleased with how well she was able to work out all my knots and free me from all the toxins in my body. My favorite was the head/scalp and the back massage part. You WILL get sore depending on the level of pressure received but if you're like me, you'll enjoy it because it'll rid you of your problem spots. The spa is clean, relaxing and inviting. Very accommodating as I called at 5:00pm for a 5:30pm appointment with a female therapist. I am glad I read a few reviews on Yelp prior to my visit because it really helped! What to Expect: 1. I've been told told male therapists are much rougher than female therapists 6. Last but not least, do tip well. They suggest you leave a minimum of $5 but c'mon - they're workin' hard for a full hour and the massage is only $29. Be generous. I've been going here to get my lash extensions since November 2014. I first tried it out for my sisters wedding, I was her maid of honor and I didn't want my mascara to run if I was going to cry. My experience here every time since then has been absolutely phenomenal! I get them done by Jenny every two weeks and she is just the most polite and sweet woman. The room is really relaxing, I've fallen asleep a couple of times during the application. She plays soothing spa music in the background and is very gentle and patient. The table you lay on is pretty comfy, they put a pillow under your head and knees to make it most comfortable and they have a hot pad under your back. The first time application takes an hour and a half to two hours, and then fills every two weeks take about 45 minutes to and hour depending how many of your natural lashes have fallen out. Sometimes your lashes are very oily, just like the hair on your head and the glue does not stick very well. She will make it right for you! It's only happened to me once; out of the countless times I've been here... But as soon as I called Jenny and told her she got me in as soon as possible and cleaned and re applied some extra lashes for me free of charge! Talk about great customer service! I get compliments all the time about my lashes at work and I send them all here. Jenny is very flexible and understanding with scheduling as well. I'll never go anywhere else. I've heard terrible things about Lash Noir in Bellevue or other lash places about application, being poked and prodded and their prices are out of control. I decided to try this place out though because it's right next to 24 Hour Fitness (convenient), and I figured since it's been so long since my last massage session..even a disappointing one would still do me good. I went with the 45 mins full body, deep tissue massage, and oh my GOD, it was the BEST massage I've ever received! This was no joke some real DEEP TISSUE massage. Bill kept a very firm, even, and steady pressure the whole time - REALLY, TRULY working through my knots and giving extra attention to the areas that were particularly problematic. He'd be working on my right trapezius and I'd feel that traveling through my nerve down my spine and to the middle of my right ass cheek LOL??? And the hot stones - amazing. Also, he was periodically checking on me to make sure I was doing ok - I think he was concerned he might be crushing me because my knots were popping/crackling so loudly - but he stopped asking me after seeing I was all about that life. Best massage hands down. My husband and I were exhausted from a day of snowboarding in the spring slush and were dreaming about a massage. I didn't think any place would be open. We called at 4 pm (wishful thinking) and were able to secure a private room with two tables by 5:30! I couldn't believe it. The place was clean and quiet. One suggestion, neck pillows for when we lay on our back, and also a bolster as well to place under our feet when laying on tummy (they did have a pillow - no complaints.) I had May and she was amazing. My husband had Tony. My husband has osteoarthritis in his back and Tony helped with his pain relief even into the next day. FINALLY made it in to this place. I highly recommend calling ahead to confirm they can accommodate you. If it's during busy hours, call ahead and create an appointment. I got the cheapest one to see if I liked it and wanted to return. *34 dollars for a massage is a steal!* however, it started out AMAZING. Used oil on my neck and really got into the top part of my shoulders. Feet were just as great, he got the hands as well. Arms were a little painful, it was like he was kneading dough or something and forgot it was an arm. But I got through it, whatever. Once I flipped is when it went really down hill. I know you keep your clothes on, so this has to be difficult, but the dude was literally going into his tippy toes and shoving his whole body weight into it. The first five minutes were bearable and the legs felt fine, but he then started to use his elbow!! He was digging straight into my spine. When I said something, he let off for about 5 minutes, and then walked around to the other side and brought back to elbow. I could barely breathe he was pushing so hard. I left less tense but more stressed. It was hard to pay, left a good tip, and then left for good. Worst massage I've ever had. They had me lay on towels instead of sheets, the man preforming my massage was rough and so rushed I couldn't relax. I told him to be gentle four times before I told him to stop. I was getting dressed when the lady at the counter came in and said she would finish since I was unhappy with the man. I made reservations two weeks in advance for a party of four. We chose Bliss based on Yelp reviews and their promised availability of four simultaneous appointments. We are from out of state, on a brief visit , so this was important to us. We were delayed, due to traffic. When we arrived, we were told we could not have the scheduled full-body massages, but 45 minute reflexology sessions. That changed to one of us could have a full-body massage. Then we were asked who was willing to have a male therapist. This discussion was all very rushed, made more difficult by the receptionist's accent. Two in our party are Asian, and we both had difficulty understanding her. We all assumed the place was very busy, but when we walked into the treatment area, we found we were the only clients there. The treatment area is dimly lit, with an open central area with small low tables for reflexology, and a surrounding ring of small, curtained off cubicles. None of the partitions reach the ceiling. My cubicle was next to the wall. There were workmen doing tenant improvements in the adjacent business. They were no more than 10 feet from me, and I could clearly hear their conversations and the saws and tools they using on the wall between us. I realize Bliss has no control over that, but I could have been placed in any one of the other cubicles, farther away from the construction zone. There is no place to put your clothing. I had volunteered to have a male therapist. He was a younger man, and perfectly polite. I am a former licensed massage therapist, specializing in deep tissue and trigger point therapy. I had been really looking forward to this appointment. Some of it was good, but much left me concerned. The massage itself was rough, heavy and fast paced. The petrissage strokes were heavy, right from the beginning. I'm not against a skilled elbow, but this session was way too deep and ran over bone as well as muscle. The compression hold points were done seemingly randomly. Hot stones and hot towels were used. They are stored in a central location, and my employee simply popped in and out of the cubicle to retrieve them. It was a little confusing at first, as I wasn't sure why he left. He did rapidly remove the stones when I said they were too hot. The full body massage at Bliss is your back, the back of your legs and your feet. I joined two of my friends at the front counter, where the receptionist was pointing at the printed menu of services to show them what they owed, My friends were told 'cash only' and that the minimum tip was $10. We paid up and waited out front for our fourth friend. I found out the receptionist had provided 'massage' for one of our group, and had continued to answer phone calls and book appointments during the session. She expected full payment and a $10 tip. The other two ladies said their sessions were 'ok'. The older male employee can provide a very good foot reflexology session. We were all disappointed. One of us was cheated.
