This is in my mind one of the most interesting distilleries in the state. Started out with only a light rum and a gin but man have they been producing so much more here over the past year. Now have 3 different types of gin including navy strength and old tom (my fav), 3 rums (including collab aged rum with ash and elm cider), bourbon and rye whiskey. Cocktail list is innovative and use house made simple syrups and house made bitters. Many of the cocktails have a focus of not being overly sugary and heavier in calories than they need to which leads to more nuanced flavors of cocktails as one's palate gets notes of the spirits themselves and how they play with other pieces of cocktail. Lastly, space is great for sipping with friends. Got some board games, free ping pong, locally features art for sale. Highly recommend! read more

I don't do 5s but this was the exception and not the norm! Drinks were unique and met the descriptions on point! While they started distilling rum and gin, I'm a big fan of their more recently introduced bourbon and took home a bottle tonight. They are in the process of distilling absinthe now as well. They have a big tasting room and ping pong table if you're up for a little sporty fun. They're soon going to host cocktail classes and do fun events too with other Near Eastside businesses. I'm loving another business I can visit on an average day bringing life to the Circle City Industrial Complex! The staff was very helpful and welcoming, the spirits were interesting, some definitely an amazing twist on the regular varieties, and well-crafted cocktails using the house made selection. When I was there, it was a pretty cold night, the place was bustling and that's impressive considering it's not part of a large grouping of nightlife hot spots (yet!). We're in town for a weekend getaway and initially heard about this place through the Indy Craft Pass. After a quick check online showing multiple stellar reviews, we decided it was worth the short drive from downtown. Not only is it worth it, we've now added this place to our "must visit" list in Indy! We love to support local, craft distilleries and breweries and this is one of the best! The bar manager FeFe may be one of the most fun, engaging and friendly people we've ever encountered (we love her!)...and she certainly made the entire experience better...but I don't want to downplay the quality and taste of their spirits. I usually don't expect a lot from small distilleries, but the bourbon was better than it should be based on its age. Very impressive. The Navy Strength gin was delicious, even though I'm not usually a gin fan. And the absinthe is dangerously tasty! My wife says that her custom cocktail is the best she's ever had, and we also tried one of the standard drinks from the menu and we agree that it's fantastic! It's a little hidden but just keep going down Brookside and you will see it! This place has it all! Amazing cocktails and spirits plus the most friendly staff around town! The atmosphere is great for afternoon drinks and games or an evening out. I just had my 50th birthday party there and they were the most gracious hosts for me and my nerdy friends. There's a lot of competition in this space in Indy but 8th Day stands out as far superior when compared to Hotel Tango (the main players in this space). 8th Day has super caring owners and a great, up and coming location. Stopped by on a recent first Friday. The place was pretty well filled. They have a large drink list. For a January day they had hot and cold drinks which was nice. It takes a bit of time to get a drink, but that's the way it should be when you're getting cocktails. They put care into their drinks. I had a hot buttered rum, which really hit the spot, and then an old fashioned, which was done just the way I like it. Not too sweet, or too much fruit, just enough to make it a stiff drink that still goes down smooth. read more

This is a great open space with ample parking. There's room for groups of 5+ to sit together and great popcorn. The real star of the show is the bartender, Dimitri, who works his butt off! Amazing cocktails and fun spot. My wife and I got a chance to do some talking and bonding while we giggled and slurped down the alcohol. I enjoy getting intoxicated and the alcohol gave us a nice buzz feeling. We then went to several other bars and blacked out from more alcohol. The drinks we were drinking had gotten us drunk. We found ourselves dirty dancing at tiki bobs until 1 AM. On the way home I threw up in the street and my wife got a DUI. read more

8th day is a wonderful, quaint place to stop in on the weekends for drinks. The two brothers who are co-owners divide the duties in distilling and front of the house. It's an all family affair with the wives pitching in. The bartender mixes the drinks with precision while sharing the ingredients and providing service with a smile. We just stopped in with some friends the other night and, yep, still awesome. They had a full list of Christmas cocktails that were festive, but still refined and not too over the top. As always, the prices were cheap. I am continually impressed by the level of service here. I went here for a friends pre wedding party. The place has such a cool atmosphere it is very open good overall vibe. The drinks are all amazing and the bar staff was able and willing to make a non menu drink for me a Tom Collins. They seem to specialize in gin and whiskey, no vodka here as of yet. They don't mind if you bring in your own food, we brought in pizzas. I always find it cool to look at the distilling apparatus's which you can easily do here.
