Absolutely delicious dinner from here tonight. I love gyros and can't find any that are close to home so I requested my neighborhood get the 904 trucks to come back. This one was soooo good. Most gyros come with tzatziki sauce on them and while I love that, this one had a "special sauce". I ordered the medium and I'm so thankful I did. It was spicy! Absolutely delicious meal that I hope will come back soon. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they are a little heavy handed with the salt on the fries. The fries were cold, but I ordered on line and picked up the order so I won't fault them for that, but the salt was too much. You can add but can't take away. If you happen upon this food truck, definitely give them a try.

Saffron Mediterranean kitchen came Julington Lakes yesterday. The food was outstanding. I had the curry, tofu and bananas. I also had the falafel salad and hummus. Outstanding meal! The falafel was very moist, not gritty, very good flavor. Absolutely delicious!

Saffron = Zac Efron??? Am I the only person to think that this could possibly owned by him? Anyhoo...moving on... The Saffron Mediterranean Kitchen food truck came by into my neighborhood, so we had to try it. Cool looking truck. The person that took our order even had an accent which made me feel as if I was in another country...until I saw my neighbor in his pajamas placing an order. #Ewww Love the simple menu. We ordered the following: * Shawarma Plate (5/5): I love Shawarmas and this was one of THE BEST Shawarmas; enough for me to say I'd placed it on my Top 3 Shawarmas I've had. Generous amount of toppings and flavorful meats. Their signature sauce was different but complimented the sandwich very well. It's a messy eat but I would order this again and again. * Chicken & Lamb Plate (5/5): I opted to get half & half meats just to get the good taste and I was not disappointed. Delicious. * Baklava (free when you check-in on Yelp) 5/5: Pretty good, very sweet, but when is a Baklava never sweet? * Rice Pudding (free when you check-in on Yelp) 3/5: It was just okay. All in all, great food here. I cannot wait for this truck to come back to my HOOD. #NeighborHOODTruckDay

Heeeeey another food truck in my area! So it wash lunchtime and to break the cycle of ordering from my new favorite healthy food restaurant I looked up online to see if any trucks were around. I saw this one and I hadn't been to them yet so why not? I loved that I could hear mediterranean music when I pulled up. That's a huge mood-setter. The person at the window taking orders was super-friendly. I told him that I'd like the lamb wrap to which he replied, "Oh that's a good one." He asked about a drink and I wasn't going to order one at first but the Mint Lemonade sounded good so I got that to. I also like that they had their Square device hanging out of the window for easy card access. Their Point of Sale also produced a numbered ticket that was easy to hang on to. I had my food and drink in no time and the person again suggested using sriracha sauce on the fries because it's good. Again...I wasn't going to but I did anyway. I sneaked back in to the office ninja-style so that no one would question where'd I gone to get lunch and be questioned, "Aww you went to a food truck? Why didn't you tell me". I had no time for that this day. Let me tell you...that wrap was fire! The lamb was not shaved like a shawarma but cut meatball style and I really enjoyed that. I could taste the flavors from the lamb better in this preparation. And the fries? Alone they would've been delicious but with the sriracha they were more excellent. I'm glad I got the opportunity to try this truck. I'd definitely come back to it if they're in the neighborhood.

UPDATE: The Team at Saffron reached out to me about the fries and how they could make things right and after that I had to update this review to 5 stars! That's amazing customer service you don't always see now a days. You can't go wrong with Saffron especially after seeing the amazing team that is also producing amazing food! Will 100% return after that and highly recommend. Thank you Food Trucks for keeping me sane these last couple weeks. If food comes to the neighborhood you know I will be there. This was my first time trying Saffron and as a big fan of a good Gyro I new I wouldn't be let down. If ordered the Gyro Wrap and that came with a side of fries. My food was ready pretty quickly which was great since I was very hungry. The Gyro was amazing. Each bite filled with delicious meat, Tzatziki Sauce, and fresh veggies. No a dry bite to be found. This Gyro was also one of the biggest I had ever had and that's always a plus in my book. The only reason for a 4 star review and not a 5 star is because the fries were kind of lackluster. Plan with not a lot of seasoning. But if your looking for a 5 star Gyro Saffron is the place to go.

As you can see from the 5-star reviews, Saffron has a fantastic reputation. They frequent my place of employment on my favorite days of the month - Food Truck Fridays. Although I love it, to be honest, I'm not really adept in the ways of the food truck. I admire the concept and am completely willing to pay $12+ a plate, without sit-down service, for something fantastic, but I just don't have much exposure to them. So when Food Truck Friday happens, I take advantage of the gathering. Y'know for research purposes lol. I am usually a patron of Hapa Li or Happy Grilled Cheese, but have heard so many good things about Saffron (my coworker swears by their chicken shawarma). I throughly enjoy Mediterranean Food for their fresh ingredients and packed-with-flavor dishes, so I figured I would give it a try. I was surprised to see that they had an online order option. It is super convenient because I could just order before-hand, skip the line, and grab my meal at the window. This works great for me so I don't have to spend most of my work hour waiting in line. The cashier was very friendly and I had my order in my hands at the time promised. Easiest process ever! I had ordered a falafel wrap with fries. I proudly walked to my favorite spot to eat my lunch, excited to try what I was sure would be a scrumptious meal. However, when I opened my box, I was disappointed. I paid an extra $2.50 to get upgraded to feta fries, but what I got was plain (and honestly lackluster) ones. I enjoyed the falafel wrap, I suppose, but I just couldn't get over not having my special fries. I definitely could have went back to inform them of the mix-up and I am sure they would have alleviated the problem, but I just didn't have the time on my break. Based off the reviews, I think it was a once-in-a-blue-moon oversight on their part. Like I said, it gets busy on Food Truck Fridays. But i just couldn't justify paying $15 including tip for this. Maybe next time?

Deliciously refreshing, lol! It's food truck Friday at my job and the moment that I saw the lineup of trucks I just knew I had to have it. Every bit was fresh and delicious, not too heavy for a workday lunch break but still very filling. I had the chicken/lamb plate, it didn't usually come that way but I asked for both and they granted my wish. This plate comes with basmati rice, a cucumber, onion and tomato salad as well as a yogurt based dipping sauce. I'll definitely choose them again, and again!

They say are carving the meat. No spicket of meat. Does not seem fresh. I look in the truck and and gyro meat cooking. The truck may have good food but not gyros.

Is there anything I can really add to this conversation? This is just a great food truck. The portions for the price are amazing! You get at least two breasts worth of meat in one chicken gyro. And they really pile the fries up. Everything tastes good too. The chicken was seasoned all through, and the meat was tender. The sandwich was very big but it wasn't too hard too eat because it was constructed well and the ingredients worked together. The fries have seasoning on them too, which is nice because it breaks up the monotony of eating a boatload of fries. Easily one of the better food trucks in Jax

Tried this truck today at urban food court. Was a great choice! The gyro plate comes with rice, salad and Greek sauce. There was a fresh lime to squeeze and it really added to the dish. Rice had a nice flavor. Big helping of gyro meat was tender and properly spiced. The salad was fresh and crisp and well dressed. The sauce is on point and the serving is generous. I was offered a free iced blackberry lemonade while I dined at a small table. It was unusual in a very good way. I liked it. I may add a splash of the fresh lime. Received the free dessert with my Yelp check in. Baklava was delish and presented beautifully. Best 12.00 lunch in a long time. Had leftovers for afternoon snack.

I think this is my new favorite food truck. My office cycles through trucks once a week, and I'm hoping they bring this one back. They set up a tent, high top tables, sitting tables and decorations... really went above and beyond. I ordered the chicken plate with salad. It was very flavorful. Yelp check ins come with a free baklava... drool worthy sugar rush. I had the mint lemonade and everyone was doing a double take in the office since it looked like a fancy after hours cocktail. Definitely going back!

This truck is legitimately like a luxury experience. If you close your eyes you may even be able to imagine sitting next to a quaint little cafe in Greece - even if you're really just sitting in your cubicle at work. The exterior of the truck is SO clean and modern. They have beautiful decor and fun music to add to the theme. It really transforms the experience. The people on the truck are very friendly and are happy to make recommendations if needed. Loved working with them! For food - I tried a chicken/beef combo plate and everything was so delicious. The meats were juicy and fresh and the rice - oh my I inhaled that stuff! I had a mint lemonade on the side - so refreshing and complimented the cuisine so well. The real winner - the hummus and pita! I would like more pita to go with my pita please. Oh and an extra side of pita. And then some pita to go. PITAAAA. So good. Happy to report I tried Baklava for the first time and now that's one more tempting treat to add to the list of things I shouldn't have but will constantly crave. They're newer on the streets here but definitely deserving of a spot. Go check them out - you'll be so happy you did.

Love this food truck! It's not the most authentic Mediterranean food you can find in Jax, but it sure is delicious. I usually get the lamb plate which comes with rice and a cucumber salad. Don't miss the mint lemonade! I love that they come to my work on our Food Truck Friday event. The owners are very nice and food comes out quick and hot. read more

This new truck is definitely one of my favorites, the menu is concise and the quality is superb. They offer fresh flavors that can't be found elsewhere in Jacksonville. The Mediterranean pasta was perfect for a chilly evening (add chicken!) We also tried the feta fries with chicken added and the chicken kabob plate. They use thigh meat so it's always juicy and tender. The falafel wrap was so filling but not heavy, plenty of sauce and crisp veggies for an all around delicious meal. Dont forget to try the mint lemonade as well, it's so crisp and refreshing. Will be back soon! read more

First thing is... this truck needs more reviews! I had Saffron today at the St Johns Town Center and was very happy that I chose them over Chubby Burrito. The food came out not looking like most food truck food being slapped together, the owner is the happiest food truck owner/operator that I have met and is very professional at what he does and gives off a great atmosphere surrounding Saffron. I'm also going to put this out there for those who have sensitive stomachs, my stomach is sensitive to foods and how it handles with digesting but after eating here i didn't experience any problems, all the food trucks I've tried when they would come to Nocatee I've gotten sick but not from these guys. I will definitely give them my business read more

Excellent food truck! I had the Gyro wrap w/ fires, and a side of hummus and pita. Everything wasted so fresh and light, it was delicious. Will be coming back next time they are here for lunch. My one knock would be that I would have preferred a side salad or something else healthier to go with the gyro wrap than French fries - but the fries were done well, so I won't knock them down any stars for that. read more

Went to this truck at the Urban Food Court today for the first time. I ordered the shawarma and hummus with pita. First off the hummus is amazing it was served with fresh chopped vegetables , it was some of the best I've ever had. The shawarma was great too perfectly wrapped in a fluffy pita with fresh vegetables and an amazing sauce. Great truck, make sure you hit up next to you see it. read more

Today I ordered the gyro and substituted hummus for fries. This was a great meal! The gyro was fresh, hot and unique bc they make their own sauce to go on top. One of the best i have ever had! The hummus was also very original because it was spicy, but served with chopped cucumbers, it was great! I will be back to this one for sure. Everything seemed so fresh!! read more

Excellent food. Lamb Patties are expensive, but good. They can however hang their hat on their Hummus, which is exceptional. Flavorful, with just enough spice to make to wish they included additional pita wedges to finish it off. Worth stopping for!. read more

Yummy and fresh! I am not a Mediterranean food expert, but I know great food when I have it. My wife and I had: 1. Hummus. Not your regular Indian style hummus loaded with Tahini. This was filled with fresh, finely diced vegetables. Great texture and flavor. 2. Gyro with Saffron Rice. The meat was flavorful and not dense. The other ingredients were very fresh and you can taste that they make their own Tzatziki sauce. 3. Baklava. Filo dessert was moist and tasty but not dripping in honey. read more

By far the best food from a truck (or from a restaurant) that you will ever get. When I first discovered this truck I was just wanting a snack while shopping so I bought an order of hummus. After trying it I immediately went back to the truck to order another hummus and a gyro meal for my boyfriend. The gyro is topped with fresh ingredients and the meat is tender and juicy. Plus they're always fast and low hassle! They even have an online order option! Definitely try them out if they're in your area. read more

Perfect! Just what we were looking for! Will definitely follow this truck and enjoy their food whenever possible. The hummus is so flavorful. The tzatziki was thick and not runny. Lamb was perfect. Just tried the food from here and absolutely everything was phenomenal!!! Tried the chicken plate, lamb plate, falafel side and feta fries!!! The owner was super nice and and so appreciative of the wonderful comments that I gave him before I left!!! You have to give this food a try you won't regret it!!! Two words: FETA FRIES! They were so amazing! My friend got the beef platter, and my other friend had the chicken burger. Everything looked and tasted delicious. But the fries!! Wow! Perfection! I wrote a review that I should have proof read first, I left out the most important word and it was the word No. But anyway, there is a halal place I use to frequent in Arlington and I always thought no place could prepare better tasting food until I stopped at this truck. I cannot begin to describe how delicious this food is. The mint leaf lemonade was heavenly. I am so excited for their truck to visit the spot I met them at tomorrow because I have been craving their food. It is made with love and skill. If you have not eaten at this truck you must. This is one of the best food trucks I've ever had the pleasure to visit. They are invited regularly to my workplace for our monthly food truck Friday and they don't disappoint. Due to my own time crunch, I only ordered the hummus and pita side dish the first time and it was a whole lunch for me. I didn't go back to my desk hungry...in fact I probably had a ridiculous look on my face because it was so good! The baklava is delish and I cant wait to try their rice pudding next time. You know its worth it when you skip Friday date night out (in air conditioning) with your man so you can stay at home to stand outside in the heat for the Saffron truck at your neighborhood food truck night. :) read more

My first impression was WOW! What a beautiful truck! The food is fresh and delicious. The mint refresher was refreshing be sure to try their chicken wrap paired with lemon orzo soup! YUM! Good eats here! Got a lamb pita from the truck at the JCP office complex a little bit ago. It was made perfectly to order how I wanted it...and it was GOOD! Nice size, great taste, very fresh meat and crisp veggies, and comes with fries. Hit the spot and filled me up (not easy to do). The owner (?) was a super cool, good guy too. Might just have to hit 'em up again:) Check it out! read more

I've seen this truck a few times but the lines were always long. Last night my husband committed to what ended up being a not so long wait. Wow! Our patience was rewarded. The menu was extensive, plus they sometimes have off menu specials like fish. We ordered the adana lamb and adana chicken, as well as the mixed appetizer plate and calamari. It was way too much food for two of us, but it was all delicious. The meat was a little bit salty, but it was balanced out by the rice and other vegetables on the plate. The mixed appetizers were delicious. I don't think I would order the calamari again. Overall, great Turkish cuisine, owned by Turkish couple who moved to the United States a few years ago.

Club setting perfectly fine but a restaurant.... All in all we still had an amazing time and I will return but at an earlier time and different day.

The vegetarian grape leaves (one of my favorite dishes, generally) were OK, although several were split up on my plate (but hey, it happens). I thought the flavor was underwhelming; there was a lot of acidity but nothing else. I also ordered a side of "extra crispy seasoned potato fries" which just turned out to be generic crinkle fries with salt. Definitely wouldn't order those again. I thought maybe there would be some sort of twist on them? The big frustration was service. The restaurant was far from full when I went -- I counted maybe a dozen seated tables. After I finished eating, I spent more than 30 minutes trying to get my waiter's attention to get my check even as I sat with my plates pushed away, glasses empty, and credit card out. He walked by multiple times to wait on and check with other tables, and I saw at least five other employees working in the front of house and walking by me. Even when I got his attention for the check, it took quite a few minutes to get it, despite him walking out to other tables. (Although I will note he seemed busier than the other employees!) My check before tip came to $24, which felt on the pricey side for what I got. I hope I'm wrong, but I got the vibe that I wasn't exactly their favorite type of guest -- a solo diner who wasn't smoking hookah. (I noticed another solo non-smoker go similarly unnoticed by staff.) Maybe they heavily favor regulars, too. But they weren't at capacity, and I'd have gotten out quicker had I been able to pay. Maybe it was just an off night. But it's just not a great feeling to be ignored.

There are only four stools here next to a bar, if you want to eat in. The bathroom was pretty good. I probably wouldn't come here again, but if I were in the area I might try some of their other pastries or sweet treats.

What a wonderful food truck, very impressed by their food, ambiance of the truck, and the service! The people working the truck were so friendly and offered wonderful customer service! They clarified any questions we had, and we were so satisfied with our order. The falafel was absolutely delicious, the flavors were fantastic! My boyfriend ordered the gyro and said it was the best he has ever had. The rice pudding was my favorite part, not too sweet but just enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. My boyfriend ordered the baklava and loved that too. We love Mediterranean food, and have always gone to Zoe's kitchen but now will seek out this food truck over Zoe's any time! 10/10 must go. read more

I always keep a lookout for the Saffron food truck at Hemming Park. They have raised the bar for all food trucks and none have come close. Everything is so fresh and delicious. You can really tell the difference. They have the best pitas!!!! My all time fave is the chicken wrap. But everything else is just as good. I've never had something I didn't like from there. Make sure you get a glass of the mint lemonade, complete with a sprig of mint ! Honestly, the food tastes as good as it looks. I am now a regular customer ! Saffron really came in the clutch when both food trucks we had booked for our conference cancelled the morning of the event. Saffron was there right as we needed them and set up in record time. Their food and service are more than deserving of their excellent reputation. Their falafel was the best thing I've eaten all week. The food at this Saffron is great, especially with the lack of non-chain Mediterranean restaurants here in Florida. I've tried the chicken, beef, and falafel plates and they're all very well cooked with great seasoning. The hummus here is delicious and has a little spice to it which I personally love. I would easily recommend this place if you're ever close by. read more

Our company provides us a free meal with a different food truck each month. They've been doing it for years. And this was by far "THE BEST" food truck I have ever had. The chicken Shawarma was incredible. And the French fries, yummy! They even played great music and decorated the outside of their truck, very cool. I will definitely get their food again. read more

We ate from this truck two days ago when it was outside the courthouse in JAX. I had the chicken plate and falafel. The gentleman who took my order was very accomidating with my order changes. The food was excellent! Next time in JAX I will look for them. read more

This place was great. The truck is clean and nice looking. I got the beef burger and it was so tasty. It was made fresh and the seasonings were just right. Plus, the pricing is as expected and the staff was friendly. Can't wait for them to come back! read more

Amazing Food: The Feta fries were so good. My Gyro wrap was warm and fresh and so flavorful. The atmosphere was clean and friendly outside of the truck where they set up. We would love for them to come back on our monthly schedule to Fanatics!! read more
