I've seen this place in the Winn-Dixie shopping center for years and I've always wanted to try it…read more My friends and I enjoy Korean BBQ so we stopped by. The tables have the both the BBQ grill and the hot pots. Food - try it all! They have all your meats and stuff in a buffet area. everything we tried was fresh and delicious. We had both the grill and the hot pots. Each of us tried a different base and all of them were good. I would go traditional if I was you. Food conveyor - just like you see in Japan! Alls sorts of items come by your table. If I could say anything bad it would be that I wish some of the portions were smaller - there are so many things to try and I no longer each like a college student. Service - our server never left us wanting for anything. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I look forward to bringing more friends here in the future. The place is large and can accommodate larger groups - I think I saw one group of about 15. It may seem a little pricey for some but you have lots of options and it's worth it.

The conveyor was also nicely packaged (plates came covered with plastic wrap for freshness and sanitary). The hot plates themselves boiled our soups super quick and the BBQ heating element did its job quick as well. Overall a great experience and we would return. When my mom dropped a whole bowl of mushrooms, they wouldn't let her clean it up and appeared out of nowhere to sweep it and then mop right after. The floors were crazy clean and not at all slippery or squeaky. Bathrooms were also clean.

Karai Ramen Bistro is a full on experience and one of the best restaurants!…read more The restaurant is dark, intimate, and tucked away in a way that makes you feel like you've discovered a hidden gem. The vibe is fantastic and the staff matches it perfectly, friendly, warm, and attentive. We went twice in the late afternoon and never waited for a table, which is a huge bonus for a spot this good. The small plates alone are worth the visit. The Katsu Sando Sliders feature crispy chicken katsu on soft potato bread with fresh cabbage, katsu sauce, Japanese mayo, red onion, and sweet pickle peppers, every element working in perfect harmony. The Potato Korokke was equally incredible, perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with katsu fried potato and vegetables paired with katsu sauce and Japanese mayo. The Gyoza were perfectly crispy Japanese fried chicken dumplings, and the Harumaki was a great addition too. Everything fried here is done with real skill, the crunch is always there and never overdone. If you love spice, the KakuKara Ramen is an absolute must. A rich, creamy sesame broth made from chicken and pork stock with Japanese hot sauce and red miso, it is spicy, deeply flavorful, and completely addictive. Loaded with pork belly kakuni, homemade pickled peppers, cabbage, cilantro, green onions, and sesame seeds on those perfect curly noodles, it is everything you hope ramen will be. If you prefer something milder, the Katsu Shio Ramen is a beautiful classic, a delicate Japanese sea salt and dashi seasoned chicken broth with shiitake mushrooms, katsu chicken, red and green onions, and the most wonderful onsen tamago custard egg that takes the whole bowl to another level!

Both of them were pretty good and were done quickly. My one thing is that they are pretty small portions in my opinion. I wish there was more in the bowls. The spot is cute though and the lady behind the counter was sweet. They have a restaurant to pick up from and then a couple doors over is the restaurant you can sit down and eat. Would love to sit down and eat here soon to see what that experience is like.

I was a little incredulous that a former Sailor could run an Asian restaurant with such awesome ramen! Well, now I believe everything I heard. As a former sailor, upon entry I immediately fell in love with the Navy decor, pictures, and even the tables in the dining area had the seals of ships and other commands past and present on the table top art that gave a tremendous nostalgic feel to an old sea warrior like me! OK, I was a Chaps - I gave spiritual support to those warriors. Nevertheless, the ramen bowls here are a work of artistic beauty! I felt like I needed to stare at my meal for an hour before daring to touch it! On this day, we had the Bayou Ramen and the Traditional Ramen. The Bayou Ramen has a real Cajun spicing to it - unmistakable in every way. It has some heat to it, but not heavy - I'd say it was just about right for my taste. The shrimp and sausage in it were perfectly prepped - I could have taken some home but didn't - just couldn't stop eating this! It also included carrots, corn, a seasoned egg, scallions, ramen noodles in chicken bayou broth. If you like ramen of a Cajun variety, you'll love this! The traditional ramen bowl was pretty basic. You could have a choice of broth, but the basic version has little to no heat factor. It comes with roast pork, bok choy, carrots, corn, seasoned eggs, scallions, ramen noodles. I had the leftovers of this ramen bowl the next day and it was outstanding too! In addition, when you come here, you MUST get the fried chicken! It's among the best I've ever tasted. It's definitely bested KFC in my book! Anyone who wants to try a solid ramen restaurant which classic offerings and some creative versions of ramen, must visit Hangar Bay! I will add that the service we received as terrific! For a little while, I felt like I was eating on the mess deck again! I'll surely be back! Recommend: VERY HIGH!

This is the traditional ramen bowl. I had some and it was awesome! Just be aware you'll need to add hot sauce to it.
